The Original three Stars on 45 Albums (out of print but way collectible) have extended versions of some of these songs, and some not included at all, but which were on the later re-releases. @kahkeshansard: Correction...the actual title of the Scott McKenzie song is "San Francisco (Be Sure to Put Flowers in Your Hair)".
One other detail you might've missed: Studio 54 was originally a dairy facility which was later converted into a television studio facility operated by the US television network CBS. CBS shot down the building in the late 1960s and sold it to the investors that created the legenday disco in 1974.

I seem to recall this was a project started by the drummer from Golden Earring, as a way of counteracting a then-popular bootleg club-mix of oldies mixed to a drum machine beat. I think he had an interest in one of the songs that was bootlegged (Venus by Shocking Blue) and came up with the idea of using studio musicians to make sound-alike recordings and pay proper royalties for the use of the songs. The Beatles one kicked off a medley craze in pop music in 1981 that lasted a year or two.
I love this! A friend gave me all this music from stars on 45 on a cd a few years ago, but I never knew where it came from, and then I stumble upon this. thx for uploading! :)
@kahkeshansard Stars on 45 is indeed the name of a Dutch studio group who put out this, Stevie Wonder, ABBA, Rolling Stone and Beatles medleys. not everything labeled Stars on 45 on Youtube is by them however.
@anesteziade the group is called Starsound, i think a swiss or austrian group. they called the tunes "stars on 45" which means. the "all the great stars on 45 speed vinyl records"
@anesteziade the name of the band technically was 'Starsound Orchestra', though it was a mix of session singers and players, under the direction of some Dutch producers.
@anesteziade Stars on 45 was a Dutch novelty pop act that was briefly very popular in the United Kingdom, throughout Europe, and in the United States in the early 1980s
