I Rremember The Starsky And Hutch Episode When The Cop Killed Jr's Dad , And Starsky Was Upset , And Doby Explained To Jr That His Friend Maurice Had To Stay On Trial For The Store Hold Up , And Raymond T, Andrews Has Been Suspended Without Pay For 90 Days , We Lost My Black Lab Shadow After His Battle With Cancer , But It's Been Very Tough For Us , Love Scott Orvik
I really liked the show tonight because it kinda helps me deal with my favorite aunt's death...it was to soon.....I miss her to much...and it is really hard to deal.....
@TomatoSpud5 i highly agree. when Mr. Hooper passed away in real life, Sesame Street pulled out all the stops with making an episode where Big Bird deals with his passing which was a huge thing for it's time. i think that episode won SS an award for it also.
Big Bird and Oscar's Muppeteer Caroll Spinney(who is a man) has been performing them since episode one. I can't stand that the main focus is on Elmo now, but he isn't able to work as much as he used to. I read in the SS 40th anniversary book that they've been training a new person to perform him in the future. But like Kermit and Ernie after Jim Henson passed away, Big Bird and Oscar will never be quite the same.
So that's what a grown up Elmo looks like...

It seems to me like something must have led them to do this episode and if so then I wonder what it was

Big Bird better get his two cents in this. The nostalgia factor will at least attract a larger adult audience.
