  • Sorry About That

  • What Are The Trailers On Fire And Ice?

  • @Sizzleboy11

    Stop asking questions like that!

  • To Tell You The Truth I Have Never Seen The Day After

  • Jam packed that was, awesome!

I think Savages Islands was a better name for a pirate film. Oh Blow Out one of my all time faves, De Palma's best for me.

And Battletruck yea! Great lineup, thanks for posting!

  • Thanks buddy! This collecting stuff is crazy, but still fun.

Love Blow Out too! One of the first Roadshows I ever watched, so the crusty old VHS adds nostalgic charm.

Battletruck desperately needs stellar DVD treatment. It's diabolical Kiwi fun..

  • Oh yes, although it can be so painful to watch De Palma's stuff in full frame/pan and scan, ouch! Oh yeah give the film its props, how can you not when its got such a cool title. BATTLETRUCK! Hee hee.

  • Did you get these off happydrummer from ebay?....recently he put up like 30 or 40 titles all roadshow...for like $50

  • I have never and would never buy a thing off that happydrum tool on ebay. He is the biggest rip off merchant on there. You would only list a Roadshow for a starting bid of $50 or whatever it was mint condition. That bloke hasn't got a clue!

  • Some great videos ya got there mate, i dont know what it is about censors dropping the ratings now on some titles the BBFC do the same here...friday the 13th is now 15...suppose we've entered a new era....NOT! nice one...

  • The BBFC are the biggest wankers. I hate them from this side of the world! Apart from pre-certs, 80s vids from the UK might have been quite collectible if it weren't for their razor gangs.

  • I got your heart pumping and your mind racing! You're not alone with the peculiar Roadshow fetish, and even a 5 minute observation of ebay shows that an original box will always attract greater interest compared to a generic box and a shit faded cover.

  • Thanks for the shoutout, I'm amazed of how many you have in their original boxes, absolutely brilliant collection. It fascinates me how many other different titles were released under the label. I recently found mint condition copies of cujo and blow out in original cases, which I was happy to find. I hope to build up but they're so bloody hard to find in original unchopped cases. anyway great vid and once again thanks

  • The shout out is the least I could do buddy!

These originals sure are tricky to find and some tend to sell on ebay for a hefty price. But that's the thing about collecting shit - the buzz you get when you find something rare in good quality.

Great find with Cujo. You must show it off if you get teh chance.

  • OMG..."The Day After" sounds a bit heavy for a grade 3 kid.

  • What an outstanding collection!! So many great titles in that lot.

"The Buddy Holly Story" would be something I'd like to see.

    Buddy Holly & Ritchie Valens forever!!!! I'm a weird 25 year old.Lol

    Great video!!

  • Thanks very much! Been collecting for over 10 years so there's heaps there and more to come.

It's a bit crazy when you think about it. I look at the collection & think 'why do we even do this?'

Never forget watching The Day After at primary school. It was in the corridor with several other classes. I remember feeling physically sick! The teachers were like 'you kids need to understand blah blah'. Looking back I realise how dumb ADULTS can be doing that sort of shit to kids!!

  • Awesome video mate! sadly i havent seen any of these movies, i really need to check some of them out. Great stuff

  • Thanks buddy! Hey you're a young bloke so you got lots of years to check new stuff out.

Its funny how film taste changes over the years. When i was younger it was all about horror movies. Now I can enjoy just about anything, except maybe Hannah Montana and PG romantic garbage.

  • I'm actually starting to buy things I watched as a kid in the 90's. I picked up the Ghostbusters set at JB this morning and I also bought the Never ending story recently.

  • I'm glad to hear that your heart is still pumping! Thanks for watching, as usual :)

  • Was The Beastmaster released uncut in Australia? Just wondering because it was cut in the UK when it first came out.

Also, I have a US copy of Nate and Hayes on VHS from Paramount. It's interesting that Paramount didn't release it in Australia, because it seems that Paramount distributed it everywhere else (under both titles). About the movie, I like it more than the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies.

  • Yes The Beastmaster was an uncut release here at the M rating level - 118 minute version. It didn't need editing because any age can watch M films. I believe the UK version was cut to PG.

Village Roadshow picked up the theatrical distribution rights for Savage Islands, and so the video release that followed was not surprising. I agree it's a seriously under-rated film, considering the time when it was made.

  • Bloody awesome!!! Can't get enough of those original boxes! I put all my Roadshows together the other week that are still in original cases and was thinking of doing a video of them... sadly nowhere near as many as you have! And unfortunately only two have inserts as well.

  • Thanks mate!

I forgot to open a couple of those covers that had The Secret Policeman's Other Ball inserts. Never mind.

It would be great to see your copies of things too.

Wait till you see the "instant K-Tel collection" vid coming soon. That'll make the eyes water!!!

  • I can imagine! Oh well, maybe one day when you're sixty you'll get sick of them and give them to me. Ha ha.

I've been trying to upload some more vids of the K-Tel collection but something is wrong with this computer all of a sudden??? Ugh.

  • Dang, I hope you get the PC dramas sorted! I wondered what was happening with the updates.

Now now, I am only 36 years old, so that's like 24 years away (fortunately I can still count). Could you even wait that long?

I won't rule out trading movies. But then again I don't know. it's hard, it's painful!

  • I could wait as long as it takes for some of those to be added to my collection!

I feel the same way about trading; if only I had decent doubles of everything, it would be no problem!

  • The R rating on that flick is strange. It got R in 1976, and hasn't changed since. I usually take an above average interest in ratings and versions, so as to make sure they are uncut versions. Thanks for watching!

  • Woah, talk about a lot of titles, managed to find Breathless in an original box earlier in the year, great trailer for the film too.

Hopefully I'll be able to find Mad Max with the green copyright scroll sometime soon, once I have it, I'll do my Roadshow vid.

  • Yeah there's a few too many titles to find room for these days. The Breathless trailer is great. UMG claimed the music content in the trailer I added.

I think half of Australia is looking for an original Mad Max, so hope there's plenty to go around!!
