@robbos44 I regret that too, one of the last greatest artists of that time, how I would of loved to see him live, it makes me sad :( but hey we still have Bob Dylan - that'll be my redemption.
Johnny Cash, R.I.P New what a hard life was His Father HATED him. He took drugs. And was Very close to prison. But he new what music meant to him. I love his movie I Walk The Line and it touched me and I hope it touched you too! Xo!
Best thing that happend to America & He is Loved all over Even by me And i live in Northen Ireland Co. Down!!! :) ;)

It always fascinates me watching these videos that all these inmates are all just chillin'. Nowadays, we try that and riots would be going on in two seconds.
this is coming from a heavy metal and punk rock guy. LONG LIVE JOHNNY CASH, I remember listening to him and the highway men(johnny, Kris, waylon, and willie) on my mom's Vinyl records. Still these songs bring to me to tears, i love them and i hope they are passed down through the generations
@Edubbplate because the were mostly trustees and minor crime cons. I know, it pissed of Johnny too. You can hear him complain about it on the CD. But at least they piped it in to their cells.
If you like live recording of Johnny Cash, please go to ridethistrain. net for all your recording needs :D (Remove the space between the period and the net!)
Rather a circular pile that takes you as high as the clouds with a silver line ing. Where's the silver spoon and the group that gathers all around? Now, say you go to prison and you sing songs to make them remember former addictions, is that nice? Or is that a trick of the promoters to say "see how stupid the people are". "How we can manipulate you into crime and then perscute you after you are caught". "How we laugh at human governments". No one sees the acts of the terrorist makers? LIE
was one of my late mothers favorite songs..She loved Johnny Cash and I do too..this is country at its' best..Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, June Carter, the Statler Bros..etc..Country sounds like garbage now..
I'm normally into a totally different kind of music but I can only bow to Johnny Cash. He was great and his music still is - and most likely will forever - be great.
Carl Perkins is probably using an Epiphone Zephyr Emperor Regent based on it having three pick-ups and having the headstock of an Epiphone (the "tree of life"). Bob Wooten is using a Fender Jazzmaster/Jaguar (I think Jaguar). Mr. Cash is using a Martin dreadnought.
heart toiuchoin', thats the truth, grand perfoirmance by Johnny Cash, woirds of coire woisdoim by oines behoind bars; have to be there to knoiw hoiw oit feels.
that fucker has the spirit in his songs , bastard touches the heart on a special level ... he lived the full life , no shit about it :-) ... Johny U walked the line ;-) !!!!!!!!
@hovno696 Do you think you missed any swear words there? I can say the same thing an not cuss one lick. You think you could? You should be careful when you try... you might hurt yourself. (you know I'm just given ya crap) lol
The interviews with the prisoners was also interesting; we really are just shuffling a good number of poverty-stricken saps who continue to be penalized when they return to society. It's a viscous cycle of isolating people without reforming them, and all we get are nasty prisons and nastier prisoners.
At least Johnny recognized this problem and sought to bring attention to it. That gives hope for future reforms at least.
How many songs did Johnny and The Band sing there? I think he had true feelings for singing there. Not many folks would have the guts. I think God smile at him that day.
The complete show at San Quentin included 31 songs, by Johnny and June and the Tennessee Three, Carl Perkins, the Statler Brothers and Mother Maybelle with the Carter Sisters.
God Bless Johnny Cash. He felt for these prisoners because he was one himself. He turned his life around and helped to soothe other ppl's souls reguardless of what they did. Yes ppl in prison might be scumbags...as you put it...but there human beings to. Although things they have done i cannot in no way relate to or understnad why they did what they did. We will all have to stand before someone one day...what will you have to say for the life you have lived now on this earth?
Your absolutely right. We should stop sending them to prison. Perhaps we should start passing out hugs flowers and candies and ask them to stop? Yeah that will work. Maybe thats part of the "Change" this country is headed towards.
Suck one SledgeHammer15. Johnny was there because he knew these prisoners were people just like him, and you and me. Some of them deserve to be in there and get treated like shit, but not all. The prison system is more fucked up today than it has ever been. Idiots like you are the reason why.
