Only Kortan (the bad guy) ever beheads anyone, and always off camera, I don't even think they actually say beheading in the show, they just leave it up to the audience to figure it out, Quinton (the hero) takes in quickenings by shareing with the Jetators, they willing give up there quickenings and become mortal, while Quinton gains all there knowledge and powers.

Easy, the main character Quentin MacLeod would gain their Quickening and their knowledge - not by beheading, but by a sharing as MacLeod and the Jettator grasp the same sword simultaneously, while Kortan (bad guy) still did it the old way, by beheading them. It wasn't uncommon for minor characters to die either.

As I mentioned, some of the '90s animated series were more mature.

In the animated series decapitation wasnt the main purpouse of the characters... it was sharing knowledge for human race survival... the only one who killed his enemies was Kortan... and there wasnt not even a stain of blood when he got rid of one of them. There are 2 versions of the Quickening

the be-heading and the sharing

if an immortal is beheaded...the other gains then knowledge.

but the quickening happens in the other way, if a McCloud and an immortal both grasp the sword at the same time....a McCloud gains knowledge without beheading and the immortal's sword shatters leaving him or her mortal...awesome highlander

nope just checked that one out and it's not that it. The one i'm talking about is modern. It's happening the near future. in the show the main protagonist has a brother who looks just like him. His father was the evil one but you find that out later in the show. I don't remember exactly how it goes cause i was very small when i watched it and now i want to watch it again cause I didn't quite understand it then.

They live forever unless someone cuts off their heads. the main characters are all from scotland (except for the main character in highlander: the raven, who's English) supossedly there will be one immortal at the end who will have all the power of all the immortals who ever lived.) However in the animated series, they've stopped the head chopping and vowed to help quintin defeat Kartan.
