Did you start with a set of plans okayed by plan check at the city / local juristiction? Who talked you into using pieces of broken slab in an aesthetic role? I have an idea that you did not have the funds to tackle this project correctly in the first place. This is a typical homeowner pie in the sky attempt at cutting a fat hog in the ass with low price back yard bandits. I saw this five times this month alone. I get the thousand yard stare / wail when I tell them it has to be demo 'd...OUT
@BlackCountryPuddler I think the refurbished rubble is a good idea and looks good. I can tell the man took pride in putting together a work of art. "Funds" have nothing to do with it. As a matter of fact, turning rubble into beauty is far more appreciable than some rich folks who had never lifted a finger paying top dollar for a job. And you think whether or not a person has an "OK'ed plan by the city" determines the contractors knowledge and skill on the job?
Yeah 2 mats is wrong. No texturing of the edges is wrong. Not troweling is wrong. Not having a floppy mat is wrong. Not tooling is wrong and...putting contractions cuts in Stamped Concrete with a........skate!?(dummy cutter) Wow.
Im Miss Chris and you just dont understand its not his fault! he is a hard worker its just that..........he has a small one ! ok I said it, its small thats why he cant do anything right. Now leave him alone! Dam you,Dam you all to hell.
imperfections are almost impossible in his defence, but that does look terrible, however, why the heck did you wait 28 freeking days to wash it off...WOW

This was what the contractor (Chris) suggested. I think it was to give him more time to get the heck out of town before I found any mistakes. I found the slab was in need of work the next day, but Chris was long gone, never to return.
I wished I would've seen this video before he did my patio. I was googling his name to try to find him and came across this video Business name Front Range concrete and Landscaping and their website is concreteandlandscapingdotcom Chris Coulter stained our concrete patio in April. Over half of the stain has flaked off. I've tried numerous emails and calls to try to get it repaired and no replies. If anyone knows how to get a hold of him reply.
. This guy is a total butcher ! He has no business selling or producing stamped concrete. Guys like this turn people away from stamped concrete. Color hardeners must be floated into the surface of the concrete. Also 1, 5 gallon pail of hardener should get you roughly 120 sq ft of surface. This Bozo used no where near enough. Plus he covered his release with his release with his hardener. Also the concrete should always be trowel finished so the only texture you see is from the stamp.
Sadly we're going through the same thing - only we didn't get any color. Chris has not returned calls, texts, or emails for a month. The concrete is chipping and cracking. It sucks because I really felt good about the team and the work at the begining. If you have any information on how to contact him or fix the situation going forward, I would greatly apericate it.
OMG I dont even have to watch the rest. If a guy shows up with 2 mats to stamp a job you should have known to throw him off the job ASAP. I got threw about 1.5 min and all I can say is this company has no idea what there doing. I have been in this busines for over 24 years and theose guys look like they might have watched half a video on how to stamp concrete and thats being generous.
They started stamping too early! Which caused the smudges. They had to start stamping early because they had no tamper. And they had no wheel to run over the overlapping joints.
As bad as this looks it can be fixed & make it look somewhat presentable. Nothing is going to hide the bad workmanship BUT you can make it look much better than its current state. Go to your local concrete supplier and either buy or order "Antiquing Agent". You mix a little bit of this powder with water loaded in a sprayer. Spray till your happy with the color. This is only a modeling agent and not meant to fix the base color. After dry spray a decorative sealer. Unitex Rock Bright works well
Somebody get this guy a mask and a brush ( less than 20 bucks jeez )!! If you apply the dust , order colored concrete, finish and stamp correctly the color depths and arrangements are amazing with the release colors. But ordering non colored concrete and throwing reds on em does not look too good either, should have ordered and nice colored conrete and found better colors to use as release imo. the stamper too seemed slow and needed some help and a few extra stamps to lay out.
Thats what happens when you hire a mexican to do a whitemans job. Tear it out. All of it. 'What a complete disaster. Apparantlely Chris isnt a mexiCAN . He is definitely a mexCAN'T. Don't tell me you actually paid for any of this work. You didnt did you?If you did you are one stupiiiiid moooooother fuuucker. On a good day 1 finisher out of 1000 have the patience and discipline to pull off a quality stamp job. I wouldnt hire anyone who has to advertise . The best guys stay busy by word of mouth
I know you you feel....Chris completely screwed up our patio. A patio that was supposed to be tan and came out grey instead. He walked away from the job and won't return calls. STAY AWAY FROM CHRIS COULTER!!!!
The contractor said he started doing concrete when he was a teen. He still needs some training, it appears. He has the What-Not-To-Do down pat. I put this vid out there for others to learn from. If you have any pointers that would help in that regard, please feel free to comment.
I plan on patching, and acid etching to rectify. I will post a video of the process and the results.
Dang, I took a 2 day training course and MY job looks 10x better.
So sorry for your disaster, hope you don't need to jackhammer out the entire job.
(FYI, I screwed up a job in a similar fashion BEFORE getting 15 hours of training - and I DID jackhammer out 2.5 cu yds. I never regretted starting over !)
So many mistakes could have been avoided if Chris had known what he was doing first... or hired a sub that knew what he was doing.
Wow? With my 20+ years in concrete, I sat here and watched them make mistake after mistake. It really isn't that hard to do an awsome job. I wish you were local to me so I could come and fix it. Did they get any money from you? If so, did you sue them blind after? How did you fix it....overlay or removal?
I am sorry for your rotten concrete job. I love this trade and respect all the pro's I work with...even more after seeing this.
Boy I should send you mine. This will look like the Taj Mahal. Wait until I upload it for you. Did you fix it and how?

All people involved lost on that one. Sad, but common. Cheapest fix might have been top all with flagstone.

So many things i can see wrong with this Job. But the first thing that gave it away was when the bloke was troweling in un-screaded concrete..
