@EvilAnticsLive wow...can u imagine, bill Wyman and Charlie Watts must v been laughing their asses off listening to this. (secretly, of course, if they knew how their bread was buttered)
Trippy tune. One of the more interesting songs the Stones ever recorded if only that it was a Billy Wyman tune (probably the best thing he ever put to vinyl). The song features Nicky Hopkins, Steve Marriot & Charlie Watts with Ronnie Lane on background vocals. Its Wyman snoring at the end. The other Stones recorded Wyman snoozing in the studio & stuck it on the album without him knowing.
The title of the album is "Their Satanic Majesties Request", considering you just have to copy it, how fucking difficult could it possibly be to get it RIGHT? Fucking stupid lame ass looser shit.
I LOVE THIS SONG!......want to know some juicy gossip about brian jones that they dare not print in the magazines...go to "i see red jimeapg" and read my 3 comments. regards.
FKing ace there has never been a song sine , IDK but it is by far the best song i my long list of songs that i i have ever heard, and i dont just mean that i just cannot explain, there is more to me with this song than words can explain, i am 30 now and this song was before my time
Ah yes, the Stones album no one ever talks about. I knew a guy who collected all the Stones albums, except this one. When I asked him about the glaring omission, he simply said, 'one of these days I'll get around to getting that'. Haven't seen him in twenty years, I bet he still doesn't own it.
Once I read this LP raised an unpleasantness between Brian Jones and others. Jones thought they’d better remain devoted to their "rhythm and blues" roots, instead follow the new style launched by the Beatles.
Actually this is Wyman`s solo single, some stones took part of recording as vocalists, Watts did drums, but Marriott played guitar, Nicky Hopkins keyboards.
For all the Rolling Stones fans out there - I had forgotten the Stones made this psychedelic album. I don't think it was a big seller in the US because of the satanic title - Their Satanic Majesties Request. A couple of the Beatles worked with them on it -(right after St. Peppers came out. They were all on acid.)
@fran9860 actually it sounds like mick's voice, nevertheless Wyman in his latest book says that the rest of the stones weren't in the studio, and that vocals are from another band that were there...
@rockologo I wish you hadn't told me that. This was always my favorite Stones album. The Stones weren't ever this comlex in thier music in anything else that they ever did. That's a real bummer that it wasn't really the Stones. It was one of my favorite albums back in the day & I still have the original album. When I found the CD I grabbed it.
this is just the Small Faces with a tad of the rolling stones

This album was the Stones' answer to the Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" EP that was released in England.
By the way, on the song "She's a Rainbow" from this album.... John and Paul are singing the "ooh la la ooh la la la la" part in the background.

Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Humble Pie fame plays guitar and sings some backing vocals on this track.

@blairsville08 It's not because of the title... It's probably because physcedelic rock is not as popular as their regular rock and roll tracks.

Don't worry, the rest of the album are pure stones music (featuring Nicky Hopkins and John Paul Jones)
