  • This song/ad has been mysteriously locked into my brain since the 9th grade. Every day they made us watch channel 1 news which always had this commercial. Talk about brainwashing. 10 years without hearing this song and I still remember it.

  • PIGFACE

  • If there isn't a full version of this song by Ruby, then there is by The Films. Guess they wrote a full version of it and it's really awesome, though a bit more slow and heady. (: It's called Thank Heaven for Little Girls by The Films and there's only one full version online that isn't live a couple that are live. Go take a listen! It's pretty awesome! ^^

  • The chick singing the song used to freak me out with her half dead look, but the song rocked.

  • i spent 2 hours looking for this thinking it was a sprite commercial. only 2 have my heart broken when i found out there is no full version of the song. :(

  • why don't a mountain dew commercial where men are acting all large and in charge like that and then woman are drooling over them saying "i think i'm in love." would there be something wrong with reversing the gender roles and having it also be like that?

afterall, the only way men can get sex with women is if they get off their asses and approach them and try to make it happen, in other words, the man is the one who must be the aggressor.

  • I remember this commercial, thanks for posting it.

  • Thank you for posting this. This commercial has intermittently haunted me since it came out in the late 90s. So repugnantly exploitative and ridiculous, but with a lovely hint of subversion at the same time due to the song and the singer. Yay! I wish that there was a higher def version.

  • @dumuziel you're regupnantly retarded and absurd, but also with a lovely hint of pseudointellect.

Sorry, did I say lovely? I meant to say retarded, again.

  • My erection is confused.

  • I got a kick out of those guys' reaction to those lovely lassies-looks like they've got something gooey and pearly white staining their knickers (lol)!

  • I didn't remember all the screaming but I did remember the lady singing...thanks for posting!

  • Is there a full version of this version of the song? As entertaining as Dean Martin is....

  • Brings back some great mid-'90s memories...thank you for adding this.

  • I remember this! Everytime this song came on I would literally STOP what I was doing and just listen to it. Great song. I wish there were a full version.

  • I love this ad!

  • Thanks Heaven ? For that Crap ????

  • think of it like this, you rummage through your childhood pics and all you can say is "crap". Pity you. Your childhood days must've been rough on ya. tsk tsk

  • i still have a can like that xD

  • Thanks for this. I remember this commercial when I was 11 and thinking how hot the girls were. I always dug the song. Nice memories from the 90s.

  • When I was ten I would stop and listen to that music.

Those girls are old now and probably out of acting gigs too... I feel a little sad.

  • Definately remember this. It was actually a pretty clever grunge cover to the classic.

  • this brings it all back! i love this ad

  • OMG I loved this commercial back in 1997!!

  • So clearly every Mountain Dew drinker is extreme to the max.

  • @KriegerDesHasses no not at all

  • Fantastic.

  • Best Dew commercial. Period.

  • does anyone no where i can find this song .....i cant find it anywhere on the web....please help

  • A guy who worked on editing this ad actually e-mailed me thanking me for posting it to YouTube. I asked him if he had a copy of the song and he said that no full version was ever recorded. It was made just for this commercial. Too bad. I would have liked to have a copy.

  • That breaks my heart! I've hoped foolishly and fervently that the full track existed somewhere. Thanks so much for posting this; at least I'll have this memory...

  • Same Here. I looked everywhere for this track since, alas...

  • It's cruel, isn't it?

  • this ad ripped off a real song called thank heaven for little girls by perry como. hope that helped ppl find the track!

  • Didn't know that, thanks!

  • Maurice Chevalier. Tons of people covered it.

  • The boy version is the original one used in the 50s film Gigi. Quite scary considering its an old man singing it.

  • Eddie Money from :25-:26

  • I know there's a boy version of this but I forgot the name, anyone remember?

  • This is like, the best mountain dew add ever.

  • thanks for posting.. this was always my favourite commercial. never new Ruby sang it, but i was a ruby fan.

  • Wish I knew where you could buy this song. I don't think it's on any of Ruby's albums

  • any idea who sings that cover?

  • As the "About This Video" states...the band is Ruby, the lead singer is Lesley Rankine.

  • Mid-'90s Mountain Dew ads were the shiznit.

  • I love the blondes look at 0:07. Chick gives me that look it means I'm gonna be seeing quite a lot of my ceiling.......with a Dew at my bedside.

  • I remember this from like 7th grade when they always played Channel 1 news on tv during study hall! I used to love this commercial! Back then I always thought it was The Cranberries cause that chick looks like the singer in that group.

  • i love this commerical i havent seen it in years thanks

  • I haven't seen this for yonks. Thanx 4 posting. Oh, and another thing...[singing] So wash me 'til I'm clean!

  • I had forgotten all about this! Ruby's first album is still one of my favorites from the 90's...
