Don Azpiazu & his Havana Casino Orchestra reached #1 with "The Peanut Vendor" (Victor 22483) over a 28 week run starting November 8, 1930. His only hit record, it topped the charts for seven weeks. The vocalist is Arturo Machin. Azipiazu also recorded the original version of "Green Eyes" (Victor 22729) in 1931 but the song did not become a hit until remade by Jimmy Dorsey a decade later.
