Now time for a US version. We are just as bad as China anymore when it comes to human rights and personal freedoms. We have vastly more imprisoned here than in China. Our citizens now face searches and harassment at every turn. We now must show drivers license and ID now more than ever. We need to stop this police state NOW! Yes,Tank Man was an inspriation to many but I fear that if we stand in front of one of our tanks..we would be pancaked. That is just how evil our government has become!

And I am not saying all is well in China. For sure it has its own issues, corruption for instance. On the other hand, not all is evil for Chinese government either. Chinese have the tradition of not being judgemental to other cultures and their internal affairs. And we welcome all the constructive criticism but not instigation of hatred towards the Chinese government and people.

Anyway, your vid is only going to bring out the anger from normal Chinese and more Chinese nationalism again, believe me. In fact, fewer and fewer Chinese care about how westerners judge China/Chinese after CNN's Cafferty insulted Chinese using racist words. Chinese have lost faith in the objectiveness/fairness in western media. Your posting is not really a good way to promote more democracy and transparency in China.

Do you know what those student leaders/opportunists have become nowadays? Some of them own the US citizenship and go back to China to make bigger money now as businessmen. I am not trying to defend the government. I am just telling some facts that I know. The 1989 crackdown wasn't as simple as you westerners/communism-haters look at it (the view of black or white, evil or justice).

Speaking of victims in 1989, I truely believe most students had passion for making this country better. But do you know what triggered the crackdown? In the beginning, when some riots started, the government commanded the curfew in Beijing and warned the residents to stay indoors and students to leave the square. But some of them just didn't follow. Some rioters/students brutally burned about 10 logistics soldiers to death. Then the crackdown started.

CCP is not an angel (no governtments are in this world). They made mistakes for sure. Remember, CCP has only been in power for 60 years which means the political system in China isn't as sophisticated as that in the states yet. But as a normal Chinese, I believe they are improving. What they have done in the earthquake disaster for the people is showing this. Oh, maybe communism-haters will turn their efforts into "face-saving efforts".

Stop judging China and acting like you have higher morals. In history, US also cracked down student protests and violent riots too. Not to mention how many people German and Japanese armies killed in WWIII. Search for "silent Chinese" on youtube, you'll feel the anger and wronged feelings normal Chinese have for being judged this way. If you care about human rights, you should care more about the victims in China earthquake and Myanmar typhoon instead of firing up hatred towards China here.

What hat the government wears doesn't really concern me. What I care is if the goverment is a one for its people's benefits and if it's a one that learns from the history and improves on itself. In theory, socialism or communism (equalness) isn't really an evil thing. I think you are biased equaling it to dictatorship. Yes, China has only one-party leadership.But the administration also has to re-elected every 8 years. And no leaders can continue to stay in power after 2 administrations.

The poster's intention is malicious posting this vid when all Chinese are mourning the victims in the earthquake disaster and standing more and more united together. And remember, the current Chinese administration isn't the one cracking down students almost 20 years ago. At this crucial point of time, even those anti-CCP Chinese who called for "democracy" and "free Tibet" stay quiet. All I can say is, the poster is really inhuman.

I think you have watched too many superhero movies. If a revolution didn't occur back in 1989, it means the justification for doing that wasn't enough. Stability and getting rid of poverty was and still are the priority for Chinese.

We are long overdue for a revolution here in the US. We were close in the sixties and had the NEOCONS on the ropes..we should have put the foot on the throat and ended their greedy,hypocritical dreams right then. However,we relinquished and a parade of evil men by the names of Nixon,Ford,Reagan and Bush and all of their administrations have,for all intents and purposes,destroyed the working class and made our country into a police state that is worsening by the minute. I do understand economics AND monopolies AND unfair advantages Wal-Mart gets, over and above the regular retailers, from the suffering of the Chinese people. I don't approve of it and I use every opportunity to bring up Wal-Mart's lousy business model. Besides, I didn't "vote" for a bunch of Arkansas hicks to curb inflation and kill American jobs.
