My rav4 rolls back on hills where there are stop signs and red lights. It's very dangerous because these cars roll back very hard easily. I went to the dealership and they said i dont have hill assist...So I have to opay extra so my car wont roll back. i am getting rid of my rav 4 asap. NOT happy at all with this cheeply made car.

One question about the limited: Does the smart key option pager use battery? If so what happens if it runs out and your door's locked?  Can you just have a regular key to open and just press the start button once in? Thanks.

The battery will keep a small charge so even if you cannot get in remotly you can hold the key fob up to the door handle for a few seconds and it will allow the doors to unlock. You can also hold it up to the push button starter and this will allow you to start the vehicle. You should them go and immediately change your battery. This does have a huge life span as long as you don't keep the vehicle parked in the garage with your keys close by.

The remote's battery should last years. If the battery does run out on the remote, just simply open it and replace the battery.

The only thing that puts me off getting one is the cargo door opening sideways. So far I've not found on reason for it to have an advantage to doors that go up for easy loading. Any ideas?

The reason why is because the RAV4 has a full-size spare tire. This is located outside on the door to spare cargo room inside.

But, it also makes the door too heavy to open and prop straight up - thus it opens to the side like the old Honda CR-Vs.

Whereas the new Honda CR-Vs only have a small donut spare tire that they keep inside. The trade-off here being a small spare and less cargo room now.

So, basically you must choose between a full-size spare & more cargo space (RAV4) vs a donut spare and less cargo space (CR-V).

Can't really have both. :)

honda did that to the crv to lower the center of gravity and increase its safety rating bcuz of it being more roll over resistant
