I know it's harder to pronounce for us Brazilians than the American, but I do love British accent and as an English teacher, I teach everything in British pronunciation. My accent inevitably is Brazilian, but I try to imitate British as much as I can.
Of course, like there are many Portuguese accents here, there are lots of accents within UK and USA.
@PIANOPHUNGUY Mostly English is spoken in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. But in the Republic of Ireland especially you will find people who speak the Irish language ( a celtic language- Irish Gaelic; according to wikipedia it is called 'Gaeilge' by those who speak it). People who speak it fluently are a minority.
There are also some other small dialects spoken there(such as among the Irish travellers).
@Schizopantheist In the Hebrides Islands off Scotland they also speak a form of Irish called Scots Gaelic. Not many Gaelic words in English. Smithereens is one.
i dont quite understand how to pronounce the "L" sound at the end of some words, seems it much easier for me as an non-native speaker to say American L, like Meal, Sale...... how should I do it in British Accent?
Surely if you want to learn English properly you should learn English as spoken in England? Many American words are completely different pavement/sidewalk, petrol/gasoline, taps/forcets, nappies/diapers, lift/elevator etc. and many more.
It's like if you go to Brazil their 'Portugese' has been corrupted by Spanish
For example in Portugal, they say 'se fez favor' for please but in Brazil they say 'por favor' the Spanish way. I'm sure it's the same in France and Quebec.
@kachala just a quick test - say this word 'Aluminium' then come back and tell me that 'american english' is superior to 'english english'. Oh and its 'mum' not 'mom' :P
@kachala more better ? No need for more there - that makes 0 grammatical sense. Why not 'push the boat out' and say 'more betterer', that would make you sound even more dense than you do saying 'more better'
@mesoemo I like American accents - they don't sound plain. The thing is though, we don't all speak like the Queen in England! Most people here regard that as very 'posh' and 'haughty'. Some people would take offence if you went around speaking like that - they'd think you were trying to be superior! You would be amazed how many different accents there are here for such a small island - more than in America. You only have to travel a few miles and the accent can completely change.
Emma Watson's got a really nice British accent :D Watch interviews of her...And some videos of BBC, they're good, too. Helps me to learn the British accent.
It's cool if you like one accent over another, but you can't say that American English isn't a real language. I'm American. . .it's kind of my first language. I would never tell someone that their language isn't 'real'. Of course it is, I use it to communicate every day when I'm at home.
@franco121760 We the Europeans learn the British English because it's the official language, not because we're european/we're UK's neighbours...when you learn a language, you learn the official one, not a dialect or whatever...
Ihatebarnett you are totally wrong that's probably just your warped perception of life here seen only through one pair of eyes, I live in Hampshire and happen to love England- we live in a democracy, have an nhs and quality of life is far higher than in many places.
...curious, he doesn't sound like a brummie. And I swear that Tower Bridge is in London. Incidentally, should you meet a 'British' person in London and say 'Hello, nice to meet you', chances are you'll be told to 'fuck off'. We're reserved and aggressive at the same time. England is a fucked up place.
we invented it and its called english not british english.....that might b wat yanks call it but nobody else....and if you yanks r so special surely u can get your own instead using another countrys and putin your name in front of it...its laughable. And plz dont question my spelin...its short hand enlish....lol
@pak10ucnttrust no one person invented any language... English is a blend of a dialect from Angles in Germany, French, Norse amongst other things - I am from England living in USA - we do not OWN the language... no one does

lol.. the videos is good. hi guys. i'm a native spanish-speaker. and i wanted to hear the differents between english from Usa. and british englihs. both made a work really good for people that is learnig english.. and finally my quetion is.. do you find any different between spanish from spain and spanish for another country of latin america? i'll hope your answer thanks so much!

I am quite sure there are some kinds of verbs and traits words, also pronunciation that american and latin american people don't mismatch, so keep in practice with this youngster. This things are the most basics between the basics.
Cheers.

Claro que hay diferencias mi amigo, cada pais agraga palabras nativas y las mezcla con el castellano. Se podria decir que en cada pais de latinoamerica se habla una version diferente del castellano. Por ejemplo no se de donde seas pero en mi pais Mexico se habla con muchos mexicanismos(palabras que solo se hablan en Mexico)como chale por ejemplo.
