It's not easy to post this and I pondered it a short while, but his fans/viewers need to know. Wade was recently diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and is currently undergoing medical treatment to begin his battle with it. Wade could use your prayers and support more than ever. I pray for his triumph in defeating it and a full recovery.

@rubyflipper I also was so glad to hear that Wade's surgery went much better than expected. That's not to say we can all rest & relax, but only a sign that our prayers were heard and that Wade needs continuous thoughts & prayers to fully overcome this unfair disease. I agree too, Wade's performance of Wichita Lineman is the absolute best out there!

I love this version as well as the original. My younger cousin also liked it, so I gave her my cd single because I intended on buying the new album. When the CD came out it did not contain the single. I've been counting youtube ever since.

the original by Glen Campbell is still the best but I will give Wade Hayes props for keeping to the original sound to this song and would be a great addition to any Glen Campbell tribute album ....May GOD by with you Glen in your battle with alzheimers

@TheBigjake04 sadly this song never made it to an album. This from wiki....In 1997, Wade Hayes released a cover version, which peaked at #55 on the U.S. country music charts. It was to have been included on an album titled Tore Up from the Floor Up, but due to its poor chart performance, the album was delayed. That album was finally released in 1998 as When the Wrong One Loves You Right, with the "Wichita Lineman" cover excluded

no, this song was never on any of wade's albums. there was a dispute over the copyrights. at least that's what was released to the public. but i think it is one of his best songs. too bad it wasn't released :(

@gordiesumner: The song was released to radio for only a couple of weeks. There was some kind of dispute with the record company about copyrights I think. I don't know for sure if it was even released on an album. Most definately an awesome version. Much better than the original...although I love the original also.

@Weasel699 It was to be the first single on his third album, originally titled "Tore Up From the Floor Up." But "Wichita Lineman" failed to chart, and the album was delayed. "The Day That She Left Tulsa (in a Chevy)" was released, reached No. 5, and the album was released, now retitled "When the Wrong One Loves You Right." ... This cover is so well done, it's shocking to me that it didn't register at all on the country charts. Don't know what people were thinking in 1997.

@GoldenGaleStables So true, his version is just incredible. It's incomprehensible to me why it didn't chart. I often don't know what people think when it comes to music. His McHayes single "It Doesn't Mean I Don't Love You" also should have gone high on the charts, it's far superiour to most stuff out there. But yet, "She's Rockin' the Beer Gut" made it to #1. Go figure! Sigh.

Have loved Glen Campbell's original version of this song since it was first released. This, though, is the best version I've heard since that original.  Wade's rich voice & faithfullness to the original mood and tempo makes this very near Campbell's. Well done, Wade!
