  • Bravo l'experimental

  • I just found until spring. and original 1976 pressing while diggin... dude made aphex twin look out of date... lol....

  • So beautiful. There's a sound in the softsynth Zebra called 'Spring 2600' that I think was inspired by this piece.

  • wow, i want to make something like this. Any suggestions

  • @Natashadoingit cycling '74 max/msp

  • I have Max, i just need to spend enough hours on it to make something like this!! :P

  • Most people define "music" as what they enjoy. Everything else is "noise". They need to read John Cage, Iannis Xenakis, Theodor Adorno, Jacques Derrida...and learn how their narrow minded pettiness is Tradition Speaking Within Them. THIS IS MUSIC, because music is whatever a composer says it is.

  • So vaspers. I'm sure if you had heard this cranked up live you wouldn't sound so defensive. Subotnick relentlessly does his own thing!

  • So primal. So earthy. A masterpiece redone very well. Another spark of genius from the grandfather of techno.

  • THIS IS MUSIC. Please don't tell me to "please don't" anything. Music is simply air with sound in it (Busoni). Birds chirping, musicians fiddling with knobs, composers twisting dials, beatniks beating bongos, rain on roof (Stochastic). Music is whatever a musician says it is.

  • I know Busoni very well also but this stating is a madness.Let's approach the music from a different aspect and let's say:music is the content in a floating of sounds what you can enjoy. The more you enjoy the more we may call it music.I doubt if this one above can be enjoyed and so do I also to any birdtweeting. Both can be interesting to a point but the max.of the joy is something like exstatics. How close they are to that? They will accordingly be music.

  • Please don't call this music! This is an acustical experiment. Nothing more. There's no melody, nor chords. How one can call it music? The soul has its own rules. It's easy to fulfill it but this track doesn't eeven approaches it. I'd call this shit if it wasn't something early stuff altough I have some wonderful tunes from the 50's: Kid Baltan - Song of the second moon for example. That's music and experimental also. I'd just make better music than Morton does.

  • the moment you said the word 'rules' you went to the hole, hehe. Poeple have diferent tastes in everything!, and if you don't see that ,then you are gonna have a hard time living (i can almost see that actually).

  • Yeah, you're right, I haven't expressed myself precisely but I have to say I'm a philosophist and I know Kant who described the working of mind while percepting the incoming data from the world. The perception has their own rules and each of one's mark in his "soul" is by perceptions and that's what I mean and not that of a kind of common-soul. I just say that an enyojment has well defined conditions in mind. Let's forget the world of soul! This music doesn'r fulfil these conditions!!!

  • this is music.

  • I sure am glad that other people like this stuff, I was begining to think I had a screw loose. I used to have this on vinyl but haven't heard it in years and I have to agree, it does sound fresh. Mort rules!

  • morton rules totally

  • anyone know what subotnick is working with these days? sounds a bit like max/msp.

  • @gnarlsbukowski buchla 200e and ableton live!

  • i was doing some reading as i listened to this and i'm blown away by how fresh it all sounds...

  • cool

  • I love this, as I love all Morton Subotnick music. Throw all your classical music albums away and get into the new electronic computer robot sound. I'm doing computer music also, on GarageBand, artist: str8sounds

  • quit spamming everything i want to watch, please.
