But basically I posted what I did to let people know that mine is triggered more by stress than anything, And maybe others have there own tourettes triggered by stress as well. But also to never be embarressed by it, Just live your normal life and trust me it's never going to stop you from being successful!
I have had somewhat mild tourette syndrome since I was 13, Up until I was 15 no one in my family understood why I would clear my throat so loud or do weird little tics. Until we all realized I had mild tourettes. I noticed that mine though is mostly triggered by stress, And have noticed that every since I got a full time job my tourettes is much more prevelant. But if I am one vacation my tourettes is almost non existant.
Hey. I feel a bit obligated to comment to say that for the past month or two, I've had the exact same shoulder tic.
It's a bit of a disappointment, because I have relatively mild tourettes, and most other tics I can either disguise, suppress or aren't noticeable. Needless to say, the shoulder thing is less than subtle haha
I like your philosophy on the subject. Nice video :D
That said, I can only watch your videos for so long before I start ticcing like a madman!
Hello, thank you very much for your video! It's glad to see someone speak up who hasn't got the swearing-tic because they fear that people won't believe them. It's a bad public stereotype created by the media that Tourettes equals swearing, and I generally have a hard time explaining it to people because their first question always is why I don't swear. I think the worst time is in your childhood, when you don't understand these tics and get laughed at in school for being a "freak". Thanks again
@numba1patinsonlover Many people have a misunderstanding of what TS is, and they make assumptions, so I am so glad you are asking this question. Every person with TS is different. Only about 10% have the swearing tics. The main thing that is the same is that we all have at least 2 movement tics, and at least 1 vocal tic. A vocal tic could be as small as sniffing, or clearing your throat. Most people are rather mild. Thanks again.
i have tourette syndrome as well as memory loss, ADHD, and minor MemorY loss. So you Can probably Imagine Lol. But You Are Truly Right about this. I try to Tell people, ANd only so many People actually know. a Few close Friends of me. Know. But as you Can probably See i have a Mental Tic with Typing and Writing. ( The uneccisary Capitols ). Its hard to make people understand ( and actually believe me ) when i Explain The things I do. You are so Helpful. 5 stars
Thanks, goldenrod666! That means a lot. I can empathize with the memory loss. I have that, too. I remember almost nothing from my childhood. In fact, I remember almost nothing from high school either.
One other thing I've notice--I tend to worry about people thinking I'm lying about my disorder. With experience though, I've only found a few non-believers. People are surprisingly understanding.
Thanks for your videos Brian, they are very helpful. I was ticcing today and this woman wouldn't quit staring at me, it was embarrasing. :( I was feeling down about it, but I remembered what you said in this video, of how we have to accept the fact that they simply don't know what it is. So thank you for your great videos!
Well, if you'd like any advice on your new diagnosis, the best that I have is to be proud of it. Enjoy it. And have a sense of humor about it. If you can do, having Tourettes is really easy for most people.
great video i'm Paul (fleece96) on youtube i'm still discovering my TS and just when i think ive got it it turns round and bites me in the ass, very helpful
Hey Paul, welcome to my channel. I'm glad you found my video helpful. I've been busy for the holiday seasons, but am putting together some better videos. If you have anything particular you'd like to see covered, send me a message. I'd be happy to help. Stick around, watch more, and subscribe. I'll do whatever I can to help.
Great video Brian, fellow ts'er here...I've found the only way for me to deal with my 'point and stare' factor is to cultivate a 'life is absurd' attitude...Mind you I do find myself apologising alot, fortunately folk seem to be far more forgiving then what I expect..I think its thanks to all the awareness folk have now due to the likes of us doing youtube vids..anyhoo, take care ...
Awesome! Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for the 5 stars. That'll help to bump it up a bit. Someone must have gotten upset and rated it low. it's people like you who'll keep the other ones in line. Much thanks!

I was diagnosed yesterday. I have to scream, meow, stretch my tendons, move my lips up and down, blink heavily, and other crap.
