Belize City is a lovely place. We stayed at D'nest Inn for a few days and got hooked up with a tour guide by the name of Donald Ramirez. Donald is an X-cop and is a very informative tour guide. He made our stay in Belize City memorable. He was not expensive to hire and he is a cool guide to hang our with. I recommend his services to all. You can find him at actionboysbelize(dotcom)

My husband's aunt was a nun at the convent in Belize city. His people worked for a man named Mr. Williamson who was in the Mahogany trade. When he died Mr. Williamson left a peninsula called Panacarcus (can't spell it) to all of my husband's mother's unmarried brother's and sisters. Only one of them still own their part of it. I was there 30 years ago when everyone still used Collect Canal. An aunt still has a house on King street. My purse was grabbed by the nicest little man.
