The best way to compare the noise on a video is to stand at the same distance as the generator, and start talking. Then shut the generator off, and start talking again.

why do people ask about a comparison with a car? A car has more cylinders to share the load along with a water jacket and several mufflers the size of this thing, theres no way it will be as quiet as a car

man i have always wanted one of those. i have a early 90's Coleman generator that weighs about 80 pounds and makes 1500 watts. it runs great but the exhaust is really stinky. anyways would you recommend one of these?

What noise? :) I found one on craigslist this morning for $550!! I hope somebody else didn't get to it before me, it's almost 6 AM and it was posted last night at 9...

its gotta be quieter than my champion 7500/6500 watt under full load, think motorcycle. Load capacity, hard to beat the champion(nearly 4x the eu2000) We had one of these at a school that was flooded and my champion, the honda held 1 sump pump(motor stalled on 2) but the champion had 5 sump pumps,3 500W lights and 3 fans. Oh yeah, if you have a 240 connector fully loaded on a generator, block your 120 outlets off and triple tape them DO NOT USE, cleaning guys math is off(6300W+2x vaccuum=stall!)

our buildings detroit will kick your ass.we run our building and the one next door.its putting out over 2,500,000 watts.its quieter than the honda.you just hear the turbos (it has four) .

lol thats not a good comparison. A car aint a single cylinder like the generator is. Maybe your car is a smooth running V6 thats great but no single cyl.. Also, a car has a front muffler, mid muffler and a back muffler.

yes but what the audio on the video recorded you could have something to compare noise to. Like run them both at the same time, then shut the gen off and see how much louder it is than the car to give you an idea. Obviously the gen is louder in real life then what it is in the video, also the volume at what your computer is at.

I just aquired one of these for use in my trapline, you can't beat it for noise, the only thing quieter I have heard are Hondas deisel generators

That is at idle; it's only a little louder at full speed.

The EU2000i is an awesome generator and not that loud (very quiet in fact)... see posted video reply where I compare the loudness to typical road noise driving by!
