  • @ataxia47 I think if people had knew of dmt or tried one of the amazonian anadenanthera snuffs there would be no reason to do those drugs. Coca leaf is much better than cocaine. Ceremonial herbal alcohol preparations are better than whipped cream flavored vodka. The universe is unfolding as it should. We may come to that point. It's a dream that has been forming in the logos for a very long time I believe.

  • I wonder if the world would be better off if EVERY non-hallucinogenic drug (meth, heroin, cocaine, alchohol) became like cannabis or mushrooms or DMT or something like that.... Like if all the drug abuse in the world was really just people smoking pot and DMT and eating mushrooms from time to time. Hm...

  • So many negative comments on a terrence mckenna video..Just saying.

  • @robertwestchester It's youtube, man. Everybody's got an opinion. And, worse than that, most of those people think that what they're saying is gospel.... and, for some reason, they have to have an attitude about it. Welcome to contemporary western society. A large percentage of us are pointless assholes.

  • @robertwestchester poably not many of them have ever tried this

  • does this continue? couldn't find part 5

  • I know psychedelics work best in silent darkness, thanks to Terence and other people's advice as well as my own experiences with them...But still...listening to him WHILE on a psychedelic is, I must say, the shit.

    Thanks for sharing mate!

  • I love Terence and wish i could have had the opportunity to meet him. I've never used psychedelics but i have a great interest in ll of it. I used to smoke cannabis in high school but got tired of it. I've had some crazy lucid dreams and enjoy the twilight state. Sometimes when i wake up in the middle of the night I see beautiful intertwining layers of geometric patterns all around..which is somewhat dmt related. Idk where im going w/ this. Just babbling lol.

  • I think it would not be unreasonable to say that Terrence Mckenna just may be the coolest person ever to have walked the planet!

  • @popstone1 You are retarded.

    Please kill yourself.

The world would be better off with you as a corpse.

    :D

  • @Lsdfunk Hey man, props for dealing with all people who are unfamiliar to McKenna's mind and are ignorant and unsympathetic to the use of psychedelics. I come to these videos because I want to hear Terence talk, not because I disagree with him. If that's how I got my kicks I'd spend my days watching Justin Bieber videos and commenting on how dumb his music was, but I don't, because I have a life. Great vids you got here

  • @Lsdfunk You're not making yourself look any better, friend, with comments like this.

  • @D20EnderC I'm not making myself look any better than what? I'm not trying to present a facade to the world. I'm saying what I feel. Some people deserve to be told that they are fucking idiots. That 'postpone1' guy was trolling my videos for days with multiple accounts. He was the only one I severely ad hominemed. He was being illogical and passive-aggressive. I responded blatantly.

You are free to think whatever you want about that. I don't really care.

    Have a nice day.

    ;D

  • @popstone1 You more than likely have to be 18 to view the channel, youtube are very good at filtering their content.

  • @popstone1 what would you call drug abuse??? to me drug abuse would be using drugs to where you cant control yourself in other words addiction... Terence states very clearly in other videos how often he uses these drugs and how often they should be used and by my standards he is nowhere near drug abuse or addiction and no where does he say do drugs hes just opening up peoples minds to psychedelics... please stop being a closed minded person like the rest of the world...

  • @popstone1 p.s. where does he say hes targeting children???

  • @popstone1 my mom being a reformed hippy taught me meditation, brought me to church, read me the toa te ching, and still i didn't "believe" in god. She told me that she knew god existed because of a lsd experience she had in the 60's. I also believe that halucinations or any spiritual experience is one of gods ways of talking to you.

  • @popstone1 the videos are recommending the opposite drug abuse, you obviously haven't listened to the lecture properly. I wish I had access to this information when I was younger, the uploader is doing a service by going out of their way to provide it. What each individual does with the information is their sole responsibility. I think the whole "Shooting the messenger" concept has been covered extensively in philosophical & moral debates over the last few thousand years, keep up junior :)

  • @popstone1 To people who rail against psychedelic users as if they are all promoting drug abuse, first I want to say I can identify. But just as taking an aspirin for a headache might not be characterized as abuse, it's clear to me that not all uses of psychedelics are abuse. Using psychedelics as party drugs might be characterized as abuse, but I believe exploring altered states with the aid of a plant is just as valid as meditation, prayer, a church service, or listening to Mozart.

  • @popstone1 I don't see how this is a promotion. He's speaking about his "philisophy" on drug use. Just like any persons advice on health or life - take it or leave it.

  • @popstone1 hahahaha if a kid takes magic mushrooms they will fucking shit themselves and run to mommy never doing any drug not even caffeine ever again

  • @popstone1 troll harder next time buddy

  • @kirbz01 I hope that guy has the worst trip ever when he dies.

  • @popstone1 psylocibin is a medicine, if you took some, you would understand. otherwise, children (like yourself) wil never understand this untill they take psylocibin

  • @popstone1 how the fuck did you connect those two together?

  • @popstone1 You're mistaking drug use for drug abuse. This is education, not promotion.

  • Thanks for posting this, brother. I'll see you at the Blue Hotel.

  • McKenna is awesome, i love listening to his lectures

im studying pharmacology myself, and i think psychadelics play a huge role in our existence and could give people alot of insight about everything if they would just give them a chance

its sad that alot of people refuse to even consider any theory relating to psychadelics based only on the reputation they have in our culture, which is nothing but lies

  • Hey thx for this, I really enjoy McKenna's lectures.

  • I know I'm not the only one thinking this, but...part 5???

  • i like his tone of voice

  • siamese twins : ying/yang

    goat boy : baphomet

    :P

  • smoking grass integral for philosophy and health.

  • well, the most ive taken is 3.5 grams of cubes, maybe 4 grams. because of me being scared to take much at first, I went through a lot of threshold trips. But one time I took around 4 dry grams and it felt like an lsd trip!! next time i take these mushrooms, im going to take atleast 5 grams in total darkness.

  • This was great. I never heard this one. Thank you.....

  • good stuff

  • whenever i think maybe this guy is crazy... he just kinda makes more sense. haha u know what im up to.

  • I know that Terrence is very familiar with the tenets and mythology of most major religions so I'm curious as to why he has come to the conclusion that Buddhism is ultimately nihilistic. I can understand how easily it could be perceived that way but it's difficult not to see that as a shallow understanding. Dependant origination or the interdependance of all phenomena is one of the central ideas of all Buddhist schools I know of. As well as the 'usual' belief in all beings innately possessing. .

  • . . .the seeds of enlightenment, or an innate Buddha nature that can be developed through practice. If anything I would have thought it was the Mahayana teachings that turned the more nihilistic practices of hinayana on their head. Those traditions remain but they are not the philosophical heart of Buddhism as I know it. My only contention with terrence here. Big fan.

  • hey, thanks for posting. do you know what/when/where this talk is from? and do you happen to have the rest of it, or know if it is transcribed or available anywhere? thanks again.

  • @pendejadafcc make sure to have sterile fields ,never take any shrooms that are contaminated with discoloration,or funky smells. Certain contaminants can fuck you up(kill you) readily. You'd be better off learning from an experienced grower,or have someone who is an experinced picker to show you what to look for. Due care is needed, but happy tripping friend, just thought I'd mention it.

  • @justaman6972 Some discoloration could be bruising, which is harmless.

  • @pendejadafcc true but to know the difference is key.

  • When he's talking about the carnival that is dmt it's obvious to me that they've heard it somewhere about it being like a carnival or about the elves and thats why they see those things. He said himself it can be whatever you want it to be.

  • @mattydigs im 95% sure hes being metaphorical

  • i respect his point of views. a great thinker. thanks Lsdfunk

  • I loved to find this terence's talk about the circus archetype in dmt, because I had a very strong salvia first trip wich to me seemed a circus show... (me being the joke...)

    ( ( (PEACE) ) )

  • @sophiavbfleury im so sorry. that mustve been a terrible trip.

  • @mancheromanchero

I think that to a "too inside the box" person it could be a quite traumatic event. To be honest it was the most intense experience I had in my life (and my life is anything but boring), but It really changed my life in a positive way. I think I understood later on why I was being punisehd at the trip and it gave me a profund realization that, somehow, I was in a very real place, more real than this world... and that helped me having more faith in things I cannot see ou touch.

  • you can make your own dmt not rare if you read........

  • @scrut Humanity isn't a contest, scrut...

& since when is text comparable to the spoken word?

I'd have to go with never.

    Thanks for posting, b!

    :D

  • @Lsdfunk : take the positives.

  • @Lsdfunk seconded

  • @scrut Maybe so, but you forgot to add D.M. Turner is dead, and that he died during one of these reckless synergies of psychedelics.

  • @scrut that really doesn't mean anything. large doses amount to nothing without the mindpower to actually grasp the lesson.

  • @scrut Why do you have to berate one because you prefer another? You're shaming yourself and your beliefs. This isn't a "who can take more drugs" contest. You're foolish if that's what matters to you.

  • I wish DMT wasn't so darn rare to find.

  • ayahuasca is pretty easy to acquire...

  • its so easy to make theres no reason to ever buy it...

  • @Fidokrab

You can save a lot of time and money by making it yourself.

  • this is great

  • "maybe my trips are so weird because i have always worshiped weirdness so i can go further down that road without being alarmed while somebody else . . uh .. uh .. would pull back" E-FUCKING-XACTLY !

  • I can give a good DMT account :))

  • has anyone ever read "Las enseñansas de don juan."? I think its called Don juans teachings...if you have could tell me?? I want to talk about it with someone...

  • when i was around 7 i had a nightmare, that returned to me sometimes, with images of giant machines ready to destroy the world, and things behind that

i want to his his invisible landscape

  • i wonder what terrance thought of aleister crowley's approach to drugs? just a thought

    thx everybody great discussion

  • visions , on weed ??? i have smoked pounds of weed , in almost every setting including in silent darkness, never saw anything , but as he said maybe he's different , maybe I am different , but most likely , MAYBE EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT

  • yes everyone is different

  • I've seen visions on weed. One thing that's a constant in my trips is a circular "rainbow" that encompasses my perifferals. Almost like a constantly color changing projection of the design of my iris'. I've seen this on LSD, weed, Shrooms, and MDMA.

  • Whenever I get super high on pot I have closed eye visions of these same four 2-dimensional shapes... One of them looks kind of like a neon mountain cliff, and I really have no idea what the others look like, but they all seem to have some kind of deep emotional connection to me... It almost feels like these shapes are the manifestations of Gods or some kind of divine spirits... Once I saw them all at a round table singing a chant about my role in the world... Crazy messages from plants =)

  • Thing is, this only happens on weed when I white out, and on something stronger than thirds.

  • weed is more psycedelic when its eaten

  • @soadhabit

I have yet to try that , heard terence say that as well (hashish is psychedelic when eatin) ... only one fun way to find out!

  • i dont find hash to be any more psychedelic eaten compared to being smoked to be honest.

i dont mean to boast or anything but i have both smoked and eaten extreme amounts, often combined, and i havent noticed any particular extraordinary psychedelic effects.

    but we're all different :)

  • @mentaltfladdrig

is there any way to make weed/hash psychedlic then ?

  • @seveneverything Hash is weed. And weed is a very mild psychedelic. Try half a cut of shrooms. (around 2 grams) To start into psychedelics.

  • VERY interesting Terence talk, ...Thanks for posting !

  • cannabis is the best

  • goat boy is pleased

  • goat boy is hurt by your indifference.

  • goat boy is fry'n balls.

  • The past three trips I have had .. I look into friends/lovers eyes and see myself staring back with all ego and sense of history and time all gone; and I would say something like 'I am you' and they would say the same.

very bizzare ... very eye opening; I think somewhere in the black part of the human eye there is the truth hidden deep inside that darkness

  • we are all one...dig it

  • hahaha bill hicks.

    (:

  • I think u mind melded with them.. or maybe Im talking about something completely different from you lol

  • I have had similar experiences. During my first mushroom trip, I looked at my trip-buddy, and I thought he looked like me. I saw myself in him. We were one.

Something even more interesting happened during an early LSD trip. My trip-buddy (a different one this time) was looking like me, similar to the above-described experience. Then I felt a vital energy come out of the base of my spine and mix with his energy coming out of his spine. Then he stated saying what I was thinking. Intense.

  • 5.59 its a jiant turtle with universe's growing on a subatonic level

  • where can i find a continuation of this?

  • This is a cut-out of the talk 'Tree of Knowledge'

  • is it true at music festivals lots of people av shrooms 2 sell?

  • Sure, along with every other substance imaginable.

  • it depends the one you go to!

  • I would reccomend against using psilocybin at large gatherings in public.

Especially ones in cities i would only ever take shrooms in a large group if it was at a doof and I had somewhere to retreat if things got heavy.

  • I guess thats why those to concerned with rational thought cant explain or maybe even experience a real good or bad high.

  • GOOD VIDEO!

  • If I ever met a little green alien, I bet he'd sound just like Terrance.

  • too funny...

  • @slctdmbntwrx

I love your answer, and understand your point of view completely. Since I know Terrence he is my teacher in these different dimensions, whatever form he will arise :)

  • @slctdmbntwrx

depending on what you're taking and how much of it you're taking, thats either going to be fucking awesome or the most terrifying thing ever

  • @slctdmbntwrx hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha true

  • What was the book title mentioned at 5:30 ?

  • Yes, good question. Any one?

  • That would be "Far Journeys" by Robert Allan Monroe, my friends.

  • Thank you, very, very much!

Nice screen name, by the way, lol.

  • far journey by robert monroe

  • mlarky

  • Is there gona be a part 5? Please comment back. Thanks. 5***** and sub'd

  • great videos! thanks!

  • is there pt 5?

  • I'm completly thrilled of hearing of the circus arketip on dimitri... Half of my first Salvia trip was about a crazy circus world wich would play around with me... I was pulled and pushed like they're performing a number with me. Actually it was a pretty bad and nasty trip, but even though I'm completlely thrilled of hearing about terence's speach.

    Plz upload the rest!

    Peace out!

  • Have you ever had a good salvia trip? Can you explain it if you did? I only remember one and it was similar to yours but very scary... however i want to explore it again soon

  • Namastë Brida!

Well, actually I just had this one experience. I still have more concentraded salvia with me, but I want to try it sometime in the future when my life is more balanced. I don't think I'm ready to try it again so shortly after. Salvia sellers explained to me that dmt and salvia were kinda similar, but that salvia was a "tough and severe teacher" and that dmt was a "loving and caring father".

  • Apparantly, in the dmt experience is more easy to stay relaxed and feel safe, cos it (it self) would take care of you, and the salvia would be a more raw and sharpen trip. But did u got this circus thing going on too?

  • I didnt had a circus feeling or didnt heared any sounds, only vague voices. But i definetely know what you mean with pushing and pulling. But with me it felt like strange beings wandering inside stone walls and shearing over my head which had a strange atracting force on me. Very strange.. Im gonna do a larger dose in the near future. But indeed it is very very strange stuff.

  • Fantastic. There must be more . . . please upload parts 5, 6, & etc.

  • im glad i stumbled upon these talks... i love psychedelics and want to experiment more in the future.

  • check out the psychedelic salon, youll be in love all over again!

  • Is there any pt.5? Thanks for uploading also.

  • I really appreciate you compiling and posting these. This is an online treasure. Thank you. :)

  • thanks for the post!!

  • What's the name of this lecture?

  • Never mind, Tree of Knowledge Part 3 of 8

  • oh I can't listen to it b/c of Firefox or something... maybe it'll work on IE ?

  • It's non-existent I'm afraid.

Crap is a bit harsh, eh? Do you really need moving images to be able to sit still and listen to this more than interesting topic/speaker.

  • @Lsdfunk Is there a part 5!?

  • 5th part?

  • Show me what you are, for yourself in a kind and compassionate way.

  • yesss been waiting for the 4th part
