I'd highly appreciate if you or anyone can answer my questions....
When I play bansuri, the PA, DHA. NI, SA sounds different than the SA RE GA MA, as if I am using a different scale bansuri all togather.....does it mean it is not properly tuned? I am still learning, I bought the bansuri from a street vendor in India, I live in UK so cant get one from here, people selling one online are way to expensive in my opinion...any help would be most helpful..thanks
Do you have to half-cover the holes sometimes? Anyone know where I can get a bansuri near Vancouver, B.C. (Canada), or elsewhere? Or, maybe I'll try to make one ...
Im just curious but in India they don't practice posture? I mean the flute is supposed to be straight right so you can get the most out of the flute & your embosure- but he plays at an angle...is that how they play in India?
@Sinanthir i play the silver flute (mostly) and all master flute players I've seen don't play it straight across, thats more of a marching band things because it looks nice. look at sir james galway, he doesn't play straight across.
Take into consideration that the bansuri flute played here is much longer than a silver concert flute with a much wider hole spacing. Most classical indian musicians play sitting down, cross-legged as well.
Sir,I appreciate your intro to flute.I hav just bought a flute C,and will try to practice. If sre r in Bimingham UK,let me know and I will have few lessons from you.regards
Thanks you Sir...for sharing your knowledge...it will be very useful for guys like us who cannot spare time to learn this amazing art of playing flute as we are busy with our profession but very passionate about music. You will be immortal. thank you.
Namaste Sir
