I honestly don't get the point in comparing the two bowlers (Wasim and Waqar). I mean, they both were terrific in their own places but how can you compare them? Waqar was a death overs' specialist like Umar Gul and Wasim was an all round bowler. You can't compare them so please don't even try to do so.

@hamburger055 true that. malcolm marshall no comparison. but wasim was a different class. you see in 2003 wc he bowled at very low pace. but still got 19 wickets out of six matches, due to good line and length and variations.

Both Wasim and Waqar were kings of swing but in my opinion it was harder to face Waqar's banana toe crushing yorker than Wasim's reverse swinging one. Oh well...both deliveries are so tough to be honest. But Waqar one is more devastating in my view.

@spptube Wasim had to attack and defend simultaneously. Look at the difference in the economies of the two. Waqar might have been deadlier at times, but Wasim is the complete bowler.

I understand that you are trying to say that Wasim was a better cricketer than Waqar as he was an allrounder and I agree to that fact. But that's not my point. I am only addressing the point about the yorker deliveries of those two great Ws.

@spptube You are way off, friend! Defensive bowling is to contain the batsmen from scoring while attacking bowling is to get wickets at the cost of runs. In a defensive set up, the bowler may not ball freely, he may avoid bowling balls that can fetch you wickets or be dismissed for runs. That narrows down the choices for a bowler. Wasim would not let batsmen score off him and take wickets, Waqar on the other hand was taken for a plenty, many a times.
