"'If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:13 NIV)
The bible sais that the end times are near when the churches become corrupt and I would say that this church and others like it are corrupt.
I'm very glad that you're so enlightened and are not a demented bigot.
How pathetic, though, that anyone would actually believe that there's a God, and more fucked up to believe that this God would or wouldn't punish a gay (or suicide victim, or whatnot) by sending them to "hell".
What a compassionate video. The pastor of St Paul United Church of Christ is obviously a wonderful minister who possesses the true gift of Christian love, and he gives very good advice here to parents who have a gay child. I second what you say above, "Thank you so much to this church!"
I agree God does loves everybody, he is our father. I'm a father of four and I love my children too. However as a parent intrusted to not only love with compassion and understanding. I also have entrusted onto me through the father, authority as an elder to instruct them in right and wrong, in morals by example as well as words. There are thousands of interpretations of scripture. This man has grossly missed the boat and is incompetent to teach biblical laws.
@stevenmiles I'd have to disagree, from confrences to even last weekend I have met many church's that are gay positive. I suggest you check out the other video's in my "advice to parents of gay/trans youth" and see how many church's are on there, I think you would be surprised. Also google More Light Presbytirians they can also offer some wisdom.
@RavenBlaze In my statement I never mentioned how many churches as you call it, gay positive. I know there are plenty. My point was that God loves everybody gay or not. He just is not pleased with the all the choices we make. Again like a father, I love my kids. I not always happy with things they do and so I teach them that there is a consequence for every action good or bad. The scriptures are clear on man and women's roll and yes homosexuality's mentioned as sin.
@stevenmiles actually Masters New Covanant church (one of the churches on my play list) translate the verse and the words they use in the verse do not talk about a loving gay relationship. Also the Apostolic church video I recently posted names several gay couples with in the bible. I highly suggest you check them out, also in the description box of the video's there is contact info for the churches.
OH COME OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! This is a FALSE APOSTATE COMPROMISING CHURCH! They will not enter into the kingdom because of this.
Ravenblaze, have you EVER EVER EVER read the Bible on your own? Also, have you EVER studied the Hebrew and Greek texts? I have. There is NOTHING in there that says it's ok to be gay.
@1jlady The same Hebrew word that is used in Genesis 2:24 to describe how Adam felt about Eve (and how spouses are supposed to feel toward each other) is used in Ruth 1:14 to describe how Ruth felt about Naomi. Her feelings are celebrated, not condemned.
@RavenBlaze: Huh? Genesis 1:24 describes nothing of how adam "felt" about eve. Ruth was Naomi's daughter in law. There was no sexual feelings there that were described at all in Genesis or Ruth. Loving someone is not the same as lusting for someone. There are different types of "love". We love our parents, our friends, our siblings but we don't lust for them right? Love and lust are separate things.
@PoliMeim nope, not sarcastic, being true and honest, thank you for the comment!
It makes me really sad when anti-gay ppl come onto these video's ("advice to parents") since it is a series dedicated to supporting parents of LGBT youth and encouraging them to love and support their kids. Supportive parents help protect against bullying and decrease the suicide rate.

I am quite sure that the members of St. Paul United Church of Christ, who are almost certainly all good Christians, would strongly disagree with you.
