The trailer shows how af first they were planning the game to be. If you notices also the star you use to collect star bits looks different. Also there were some different scenes a little bit different than the actual ones. There's another trailer that shows mario in a level called star world or something like that which never appeared in the one they released.

A fantastic game!

BTW, it's fun to see how Mario Galaxy changed between the time this trailer was made and the time it was released: The cursor was for example differently colored, Gusty Gardens looked quite a bit different, various coins were placed at different locations and one (maybe more than one?) of Dreadnought Galaxy's missions was located at Melty Molten Galaxy instead.

Looks like Dreadnought and Melty Molten used to be together. And the "sky" in the game is a lot lighter now too. Gusty Garden (the part with the worm and apple) looks really different without the clouds and atmosphere it has now.

Actually, it's really nothing like Sunshine, it's actually more like Super Mario 64, but in space, and personally I like this game better than Mario 64 because they brought back a lot of classic elements, like the fire flower suit.

No idea how long it will take to beat it, but supposedly its a very large game. So far, the only confirmed playable character is Mario, and the release of November 12, 2007 is definite. =D

this is good graphics. this is what what dedicated developers can do on the wii hardware, if they try harder. this is the starting point of what the wii hardware is capable. oh yeah, special nintendo event on october 10th, which means new footage of games nintendo been working on. we might see something new for this game too

The things that made Mario 64 so memorable were it's unique missions, bosses, musical score, etc. It wasn't necessarily his new "wingcap" that etched the game so indelibly into our neuro-chemistry. Back then, it wasn't "Mario cures AIDS in his new game!" You know what I mean?

I know I haven't even played this yet, but it looks to me like another attempt to sell a bunch of games. I think the last great Mario game was "Super Mario 64," because Nintendo was actually more worried about the GAME, and not worried about "phenomenal" concepts. so far luigi's been absent in mario galaxy like in 64 and sunshine. i wouldn't get your hopes up. i can't really see him playing a part in it since the two player mode jsut has the 2nd player using a pointer to shoot stardust and stop objects.
