  • Hopefully he will do good on todays game against the patriots he will be the giants 3 wide out... He is pretty tall so look for him in the redzone! Go GIANTS

  • hes hopefully gunna be our 4th string wr. he is gonna be a beast cant wait to see what he can do sunday for My G-MEN

  • Dude's out of the league at the moment. Sure, his knee's messed up, but it sounds like more of a mental thing to me.

  • He will get better with the Giants as time goes by.

He needs to word hard on some things, but he will be alright.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • How the fuck doesnt the other team figure this out its a fade route and the qb lobes it wow poor coaching on both teams

  • @MW2rapiest maybe because hes taller than the cbs and safeties

  • If he could run Across the middle of the field that would help have more success on the Giants

  • Comment removed

  • mostly. fade routes. i saw one route where he caught at the middle at 1:52. I saw one route where he ran a circle route route. no hooks no slants??? no outs??? i just hope he's working hard with the giants. he needs to work on his route running and how well he gets of his routes.

  • hey the onlly person i have ever seen shut him down was DEWAYNE Lewis from Southern Utah the kid that ran 4.28 at his pro day and BYU pro day... go and check the scoring drive... or search Dewayne lewis he is on his highlight. Ramses is good tho. He shut down tolver the year before he had zero catches.

  • this guy is gonna be sick in the nfl

  • THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS!!!! This is the year for us... good draft, our backs looking good. Jacobs a beast and bradshaw steppin up. Danny Ware lookin smokin too. All we need is our wide outs to hold on to the ball. And all u bastards talking shit on Eli, do u have a superbowl ring to go along with your MVP award, didnt think so and chances are neither does ur QB....

  • Also no one got paid as much as Eli did to stay in a team!

  • in this whole video i didn't see him run one route that involved cutting..as an NFL receiver you better have good change of direction skills unless your name is Randy Moss, and Barden does NOT have Moss speed

  • NFL corners are a lot bigger, faster, stronger and better than those who play in NCAA bush leagues

  • obviously, but hes gonna grow too

  • hope hes a threat for the giants go big blue

  • Imagine him and Plaxico Buress on each side...... give DB's a headache........... that QB must of had a high completion rate just passing to Ramses all day lol!!

  • FUCKING AWESOME GO G-MEN

  • today in madden 10

i put ramses barden as my 2nd string TE man this guy is going to be a good WR

  • 6'6 u cant miss dat target!! he'll get better in practice up against an NFL team hes da next Plaxico Burress

    GO GIANTS!!!

  • no, not the next plax (he'll shoot himself then), he's the first Ram

  • lol i was bout to say that

  • Yeah those guys never do well.

I mean Marques Colston? Joe Flacco? Terrell Owens? Donald Driver? All jokes!

Or these "so called legends" like Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Michael Strahan, Howie Long and Steve McNair?

CLEARLY these guys couldn't cut it!!!

  • That's what...8 guys of how many thousands? Plus I wasn't too impressed with Flacco other than his throw power. He coasted most of the year and relied on his D too much IMO. Plus, those guys (especially the WR's) were complete players that could do more than run a fade or slant in man coverage against a Division II DB.

  • none of those widerecievers was over 6'6''...and im pretty sure they werent the best at every route every player has his own strengths...

  • Sure, there are "exceptions to the rule". I just don't feel that Ramses Barden is going to be one of them. I could be wrong. But I really feel strongly about him not being a star. He might end up being a good red zone threat at most because of his 6'6" frame. But that'll be about it. He's not going to just be able to run fly patterns all day in the NFL.

  • Most people said the same about Terrell Owens & Brandon Marshall

  • terrell owens and jerry rice played wr in small schools. they did alright.

  • He will be unstoppable in the NFL watch.. Man among boys in college = greatness in the pros

  • MAD FADE ROUTES!!!!!! everything this guy catches is a fade route.

  • Ramses, congratulations on being selected by the New York Giants in the 2009 NFL Draft. I know that you are excited and looking forward to August 17 when you enter Giants Stadium for the first time to take on the Carolina Panthers. Best of luck.

  • you do realize that Ramses Barden will never see this

  • Maybe; maybe not. But I was just trying to display some good sportsmanship to the new players. It's going to be a wake-up call when he walks into Giants Stadium next Monday Night. I will be watching because I am a Carolina Panthers fan. I'm sure that the rookies in the Hall of Fame Game last night found that out. From Aaron Maybin to Nick Schommer. That first lick is one that you will remember forever. Ask Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson (Dallas Cowboys); Out of Control.

  • o ok, there is it lol

  • can i see a route besides a fade?

  • I saw a seem. lol

  • Did you watch the entire tape? Obviously not.

  • dang bro chill out. haha i saw a seem route. lol

  • i wonder why they didn't put a safety over the top of him for someone so dominant he ate up that single coverage

  • hes gonna be a star he looks like keyshawn johnson

  • Ramses Barden is gonna be a STAR..i.e Randy Moss who also was doubted because he played at Marshall, well he is pretty good lol.. Same with Jerry Rice, Reggie White and Brain Westbrook, they all were overlooked until they hit the NFL This guy is great, what he shows here in college, he will also do for the NY Giants from rookie year

  • nEW YORK gIANTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPS 09-10

  • HELL YEAH DOGGGG

  • giants fan? saying the eagles are the team to beat in the east what r u smoking?? lol.. Giants are gonna kick ass.. Eagles in 3rd behind the Redskins.r

  • dude this guys a beast i saw his last game when they played webber state

  • Barden will be a beast to cover watch.. A cross between Burress and Moss.. Faster then Burress and bigger then Moss.. Those who doubt? Moss played at Marshall and most said ahhh no big deal the corners weren`t that good.. Well Moss hit the NFL with greater impact then any WR ever

  • shiiiiiiiiiiiiit this guy "6,6" he is scary man but he cant run routes more of a tight end type of guy they really should look into moving him to tight end he could be very succesful their.

  • lol what are you talking about, he runs his routes great, the difference is the qb's with this type of WR usually just toss it up at the corners hoping he is there to make the catch, just like eli and plaxico. and why move a WR to TE when u already have Boss is in the making of being good TE and Barden has more explosion after the catch, while TE is used more for blocking the run and power after catch for short gains.

  • I don't know whay but the first person that comes to mind when I see him is Keyshawn Johnson.

  • he just monstered these corners ohh and hes 6'6'' where shitin' on the competition this season GIANTS 09!!

  • I'm an Eagles fan, and a lot has been said about our draft, but I think the Giants also got a great draft, especially from where they picked. You guys got Hakeem Nicks, who I think had the best hands in the draft, you got Beckum, and this guy. You guys didn't need that much help, but you got a lot anyways. Your draft, along with your off-season, will make the Giants tough to beat next year. Haha, 2009-2010 will be an interesting season...

  • :D cant wait for the season to start, no doubt the eagles are the team to beat in the NFC EAST. for once i actually do not mind if eagles have a good season, mcnabb deserves a ring. i liked both drafts and yea with osi back and all the new LB and having a stronger defensive line its gonna be a tought defense to beat.

  • Haha, I can't wait either. We're probably have the best division in football now. I mean the Redskins don't look half bad either, but c'mon. They're the Redskins, but their D is looking really good. I was scared when I heard about all the people you guys got, but we sured up our O-line, so it's not so bad. Honestly though, the Giants have everything, but will only go as far as Eli takes them. He doesn't have to be great, but he has to be decent. It's going to be a fun season tho...

  • cant blame eli, plax was his main go to guy. and toomer has no speed. so he has no deep threats. eli can throw pretty far like those couple passes to hixon, but he dropped on both. he just has to get the timing straight because he usually overthrows the ball about 5-10 yards infront. one thing i hate is how they rank romo better then eli only because romo has more passing yards because the cowboys running game sucks, if the giants had no running game eli would have the numbers to.

  • Eli's better than Romo in my opinion b/c Romo has a lot of those "WTF" plays. Also, for some reason the Cowboys self destruct in December. Eli to me is a little under the Brady and Peyton. With the way the off season went, it could very well be a rematch of Super Bowl 42.

  • if it happens it's gonna be a SWEEP!!

  • everyone is saying he played horrible corners in college but lets be real the man is 6'6. there isn't many corners in the nfc east cowboys and eagels dont have their dominate hitting safeties to stop him from catching and he 6'6. my man clarenece moore would have been a star in baltimore but mothafucking kyle boller can't throw

  • The Good News: Ramses Barden is really tall, and has the physical framework of a great NFL Player. Bad News: CAL POLY TECH. He's playing against 5'8" corners from Northwestern Idaho State Technichal Community College for the Blind and Deaf. Let's see how he does when the mean secondaries of the NFC east match up... I hope he can. Go G-Men.

  • excellent comment, very funny. First off Go G-men. Even though his competition in college was not near the caliber of NFL talent, he was still out running NCAA Div 1 athletes, last time i checked they had fast cornerback in college. the giants have a lot of young and talented reciever that will win them the bowl next season

  • Just insane, the guy is simply an unstoppable monster! Boy, is it ever great to be born a Giants fan.

  • nuthin but fade routs

  • mexican all the way haha hehe haha hoee

  • great pick for the giants . . . . with everyone focused on nicks this guy is guna sneak in and have a great year, dont be surprised he has the most recieving touchdowns for the giants

  • Barden is definitley the new Burress. Burress was chosen in like the ,6th round.

  • Are you joking???? Plax was the 8th pick of the 1st round in the 2000 draft....Get it right..

  • hahahahah

  • i dont understand why nfl analysts believe that the giants's WR position is in trouble

  • he doesnt get many jump balls, alot of his catches r just good passes

  • barden was good pick even if he contributes only in the red zone. even if he dont catch the td he will get alot of pass interferance calls on corners

the think the trio of barden nicks and the TE beckum will b great. i think andre brown was the steal of the draft for giaNTS

  • hes gonna be awesome with the giants..they need somebody with height to fill in plaxico burress's void

  • he might be making all these catches now, but its a whole new level when you get to the NFL and hes gonna have to work for it. Definitely a good pick for the Giants...they needed it. We'll see how it works out......

  • Darius Heyward-Bey or Ramses Barden?

I am just going to say Barden was the most underrated WR in the draft...

  • I dont care what none of yall say, this dude has all the tools to be GREAT! Plaxico who?????

    Go GMEN!!!

  • What's wrong with you guys? Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.6. Jerry Rice ran a 4.8!! These stat hungry ESPN analysts have people looking at so many numbers they forget how the guy actually looks on the field!

  • i mean... maybe a lil music wouldnt kill ya?

  • good quarter back. ok receiver, crappy ass corners. nothing special about this WR :\

  • 6'6" 230lbs 4.52 speed.....NOOOO not special at all!!! I bet youre the same dude who said Randy Moss wouldnt work in NE! hahaaa

  • Randy Moss is about twice as fast as this guy.

  • speed isnt everything . . . Jerry Rice wasnt the fastest reciever in the world

  • Jerry Rice is the reason why 40 times are taken with a grain of salt. Apparently Rice's speed with pads was outstanding and he could blow anyone out of the water. Jerry Rice = Super fast with pads.

  • twice as skinny too

  • yeh its not all about speed buddy...

  • this video is horrible im not hatin on ramses im a raider fan so i was open to gettin him but all this vid shows is that hes tall and can run a corner fade route.

  • Really really smart kid, and looks like he is going to tear up the Iggles, Cowboys, and Redskins D's.

  • giants is gonna kill this year i'm more hyped about the giants drafting him then them drafting hakeem nicks!!!

  • lets look at the facts broke jerry rice's record of 20 consecitive td catches dude is def talent but the giants should ease him in like they did eli different position i know but seriously this dude gonna get his chance to shine

  • i can hear it already!!! Eli, drops back.....Ramses Barden with the TD catch!!!! lets go!!!!!!! Gmen

  • GIANTS get a chance for a home grown Plax! Nice pick.

  • this dude is a straight up baller.

we fly high, no lie, you know this...

    BALLINN!

hes gonna get mad tds this year.

  • Jerry Reese is a GENIUS!!!

  • how the hell was this kid not taken earlier?! im glad he wasnt so Giants can get him, great job by coughlin to recognize true talent, now time to make all the people who didnt pick him pay muwahaha

  • It's because he comes from a smaller program, and he played against inferior competition, but his game against Wisconsin shows that he could have played just as well against Division 1-A competition.

  • This kid is GREAT! Could take over for Burress by late this season easy. Once again sweet job in the draft Coughlin.

  • Another thing is that when Cal Poly played D1 schools Ramses still dominated... hes gonna be a stud in the NFL someday.

    GO GIANTS!!!

  • I don't care about the fact that he went to a small school and dominated. Look at TO he went to Tennessee-Chatanooga and as much as i don't like the guy he faired out well in the NFL

  • appears to be a nice pick for the giants, but i don't see those fade routes having the same success against a 6'1'' pro bowl corner, barden needs to show that he can run all the routes and separate from nfl defenders before he starts

  • lol how many 6' 1" pro bowl corners are there in the ENTIRE NFL?

  • idk but i know that all the teams in the nfc east have pro bolwers at corner and although im happy about barden going to the giants i think he gonna need to show that he can run the whole nfl route tree before he becomes a big time player

  • A Plaxico true replacement?

  • Let's see... 6' 6"...check... runs the fade like a champ... check... great body control... check.... funny name.. check. Yep, looks like another Plaxico.

I like the fact that he graduates from a good school that is not too jock permissive. His position coach at Cal Poly is also an engineering PostDoc there. He seems like a great fit. Smith will have to teach him how to get his feet down.

  • yeahhh baby! just what i needed! big blue should make this guy a winner!!! imagine his huge ass blocking downfield??? i wanna see eli toss it up to him all day long!

  • I cant beleive the stupid Lions didnt take him at 65. But then again I do.

  • Comment removed by author

  • lol the receiver opposite of him mustve been hella mad. He was open 90% of the time Barden wasn't.

  • They are best friends and roomates. He was open because he runs a 4.2. But when you are 6' 6" in the FCS, you are pretty much always open.

  • Im 6'5" thank god for having long arms lol, but this kid a rookie with that much potential is unlimited in what he can do, just keep him away from the prima donna nonsense and the Giants have got themselves a serious force to be recconed with.

  • Can't wait to see what these guys look like in preseason.

  • WELCOME TO THE GIANTS!!!!!

I'm so excited about this pick. Being 6'4" I know first hand what height can do for you as a reciever. In back yard football people always throw to me even if they've never met me in my life. Why? A tall guy is a big target and has a larger catching range. I'm confident this guy will turn out to be dominant. An absolute steal at the third round.

  • no- he's 6'6!

  • damn this highlight reel is boring.. he does the same play in every highlight. is he only good at catching fades??

  • I love how his QB doesnt even try to "look off" defenders. How arrogant and stupid, However Id love to see what this kid can do with a competent QB throwing him these fade routes in the NFL

  • How did this goy last so long in the draft? Is there something I'm missing?

He looks huge, has great hands, and can move.

No? To me he looks like a player. Maybe all-pro (I know, I know, it's early, but where are his faults?)

    Any thoughts?

  • Hes not that fast and wasn't defended well, but you have to like him for the match-up problems. especially since alot of teams have corners 6ft or shorter

  • Its because he came from an FCS school and didn't play against any elite competition. I really think this guy has huge potential though. Probably the biggest steal of the draft. The giants had a really good draft.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks, guys. Will keep my eye on him during training camp.

Seem the "skill" players are the hardest to predict.

  • he didn't run that fast at his pro day, played in a bush league in college, as u see in the video all he runs are fade routes, (that won't happen in the NF), but he's a huge prospect with a ton of upside

  • this guy looks good! reminds me of the jacobs pick a few years ago.

  • I've got that same great feeling, too. Its like if you play Madden and own a franchise, you can unfairly dominate by scouting for the gigantic fast guys with skills and getting them in the middle of the draft. It shouldn't be so easy in the NFL! This kid replaces Plaxico in the red zone, at the very least. Nicks and he hopefully can replace Amani and Plax completely and can be even better. Yes!! And an OT, RB, TE, CBs! Great draft!

  • Wow i know these are just highlights but the man has some serious skills. He can be a star.

  • Comment removed

  • certainly the most exciting pick of the draft. all he's got to do is beat out manningham and moss....that shouldn't be too hard...see you in the endzone BIG MANNNNN

  • if da raiders picked him. yall would be callin al davis stupid

  • yea if he took him in the first round with the 7th overall pick...

  • Al Davis is already stupid taking Hayward-bey instead of Crabtree!

  • no1 giants fan here and welcome to giant big man

  • This Cal Poly WR was a brilliant pick by the Giants, he will be an impact player. Too bad fellow Cal Poly alum John Madden won't be around to call Barden's games.

  • Welcome to the Giants Ramses!! He should were #17 ... our new Plaxico

  • oh he will learn all about press coverage practicing against Ross and Webster. good upside

  • Divisions 1AA or not a 6 ft 6 WR who has good hands and some decent speed is going to be a beast. All the Giants are going to have to do is line him up against the opponents shortest CB which is usaully 5 ft 11 and then throw the ball up

  • i was hoping and praying we'd somehow get him but i thought mad people want him . this is a dream come true . jerry reese is a genius !

  • how dare u r u a pro football player..let me take a minute to think..........NO so dont say anybody stinks unless ur better than em.........(douche)

  • "how dare you" LOL he's a 4.7 guy, hes slow as hell. LOL U MAD?

  • doesnt madder wat hee runs he towers over the corners therefor he will make the catch over them god wat do u run ur 40 in.....oh and r u a pro football player

  • damn bro. get an education for gods sake. stop spending time looking at youtube videos defending a 4.7 shitty WR

  • damn bro im a freshman taking junior classes starting on varsity so dont say i need an education how bout u get sum common sense and watch this video again then comment me back

  • your dumb, read before you speak he ran 4.6 at combine and 4.5 at pro day.

  • GJ having him be your plaxico LOL Ramses Barden. gtfo of here with that shit.

  • man nicks and barden....not bad lol

  • Play him in the preseason, if he looks good, start him. We got a superbowl to win. G-men!!!!!! The cowgirls had a great draft LOL

  • Afterr this draft we deserve to be called the Cow girls. We draft a TE we have the best TE combo in the NFL with Witten and Bennett. Then we draft a Kicker when we have a Pro Bowler at the position. I hate saying this but I hope all of you the Giants, and Redskins (not the Eagles though) beat the shit out of us so maybe just maybe Jerry hires a GM

  • NYG Lets go!!!!!!!!

  • he a giant now !(nigga)

  • hes gonna be our 'Red Zone' WR, so Eli can just thow it up and he will get it, dats wat we needed..and we got Nicks o0 yea here we go Giants!!!

  • no db has a shot at covering him in the end zone on a fade, hes gonna put up touchdowns

  • i hope he helps us out this year

  • he looks ok but it seems like he hasn't played a real defense and just managed to get buy by being a much better athlete then everyone around him. I think Hakeem Nicks will be a stud but this guy will not start for awhile

  • I don't think he needs to start for awhile. But an average cornerback isn't even six foot so Barden can be such a huge asset in the red zone.

  • Looks good. I think he's a good pick up at this point in the draft. Glad we got him.

  • he'll be a great replacement to Burress

  • too bad its a manning who's gonna pass it to him

  • reminds me just like eli toplax or eli to fitz in the superbowl

  • welcome to the G-men

  • Real positives on Ramses are his height & weight, durability, and character.

Only real flaw is that his skill-set is average when it comes down to the specific skills necessary at wide receiver.

He looks outstanding here, but I question the defenses faced by him in this highlight reel.

I'm not going to complain, though. As a Giants season ticket holder, I'd be glad to embrace him as a member of the team.

  • Called this 2 months ago on here.. when all these shitheads saiiid oohhh he wont go to the giants stuuuupid. Yeeee!!

  • he looks good, but this film looks like high school film... does the defense even play with safeties????

  • this totally made me squirt cuz we picked him up

  • wow, he's so much taller than everyone it's unfair.

    Welcome to NY dawg.

  • giants are picking some awsome receivers hakeem and barden thats the great way to replace burress

  • WELCOME TO NEW YORK RAMSES!!!

wonder when they're gonna start callin him Pharaoh.

  • Great pick by the Giants he will help a lot in the red zone at 6'6" and great hands.

  • Fade route all day

  • haha

  • wow this dude is huge! GMEN!!

  • yahoooo.... welcome to ny big dog

  • welcome to the Giants Just keep working hard big boy

  • well he won't be this much faster than pros, but good pic GMEENNNNNNN!!!

  • welcome to NY big boy

  • you already know !

  • Newest Giant, No Problem!! hell yeah now we got the big target and Hakeem

  • G-MEN BABY

  • Ramses Barden = Plaxico Burress

(without all the excess BS of course)

  • damn right, I can't wait to see how he develops... he looks super raw, but definitely promising.

  • welcome to the giants!!!

  • future dolphin

  • the eagles need 2 get him he can be are boldin

  • If the titans dont get him with their second pick i will do some crazy shit
