  • I'm a disabled veteran and man I wish I could just have a shot at bringing down a huge elk like that. Awesome and good shooting.

  • How heavy was he?

  • Wow, that's a really nice bull. what did he score?

  • @ruj1970 hahahaha what a hypocrite... so, in the other video you support the killing of wolves to sabe the ELK's life, BUT HERE YOU SUPPORT the killing of elks????????????

hahahahahaha remember you will be always welcome to this society.. .when you stop being what you are... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

    baci per te amore!

  • @ryanben222 You display your ignorance every time you post. I can only harvest one elk per year and elk hunting is structured to ensure a healthy herd year after year. Why am I even explaining this to you? You are obviously too ignorant and stupid to understand.

  • @ruj1970 hahahaha just one per year... so you kill one per year, and the other people what? another one per person per year????

Go and get a life babe :D

Go and get a husband, but dont call me cuz... I like women, I told you before nena!

  • @ryanben222 You really are one dumbass pathetic little faggot.

  • @ryanben222 probably because if the wolves aren't killing of the elk (not to mention domestic animals and livestock) there are more left to hunt. So yes, hunters are actually most supportive of what will help boost the elk (deer, moose, etc) population which includes taking out their other predators.

  • DANG AMAZING SHOT! congratulations

  • Dubois?

  • Above the timber line? Or just a really open area?

  • GORGEOUS!!

  • Good bull for a good hunter

  • Excellent shot! What caliber? I'm going this week!

  • Gorgeous shot sir, straight through the lungs!

  • you can see where the bullet impacted. it went through the heart-lung area

  • awesome Elk, nice shot

  • 2:26-2:30 kick kick kick for dear life awwwwww too late yor dead

  • Damn, in what exact part did you hit him?

  • i got drawn for cow in arizona i really want to go bull hunting but its so hard to get drawn for bull

  • Thats the Owl Creeks for ya, awesome bulls come from that mountain range

  • All you Wyoming hunting fans. Check out the OX RANCH facebook page.

  • I've always wanted to travel and hunt all sorts of animals around the world. I have always wanted to shoot an elk. nice kill man

  • I dont understand why people who don't like hunting even searches for hunting videos -_- Find something more productive to do people :D

  • Whammo Bro!!!

  • Holy shit, that was a beautiful shot, and a well deserved rack. Congrats.

  • That's HUGE!!!

You're gonna have to raise the ceiling on your trophy room th fit that rack in!

  • Yummy.

  • Nice Shot,Nice Bull

  • now i'm more of a target shooter then a hunter... but 2 all the "knw it alls" arguing over caliber... if you are within the effective range of your caliber and have decent enough aiming skills to place the shot where you want it to go (vitals)... the animal WILL go down!!! and thats all there is to it... shoot it with a 223 or a 338 doesn't matter... just hit a heart/lung it'll go down...

now more importantly.... where in Wyoming can i go to shoot me one of these???

  • @oooooSERooooo yes but.. depends on the caliber of bull vs caliber of rifle and distance ... you have a 300-350 class bull... they'r pretty tough.. as an archery hunter and rifle hunter i can say the shot placement is crucial of course.....my opinoin is 300 win or any .30 0ver is good. a 223 is what i use for coyotes and personally i think its too small. you need damage done. ethnically an 1100 lb bull can take a hit and run 10 miles and that is hell!!!!!!! to track. Stick em good and be happy!

  • I really like the photo. You were an arms lenth back and a rifle lenth too. Make that elk look just that much larger hmmmm?

  • @4670103 hahaha i like how are you critizize but yet that is an awesome public LAND bull so unless you have private land tags for A TROPHY AREA I SUGGEST YOU SHUT UP.

  • Nice Elk!!

  • What was the range of that shot, and what are you shooting with? Great vid!

  • Awesome Elk. I'm jealous haha. Hey i live in Wyoming too, Riverton to be exact. I have just started filming my own hunting videos, but i think you will like them. Check them out

  • What Species of elk are they?

  • With all due respect you cannot be 0 at 100 with those numbers you must be zero @ 300 for those numbers.

    Sonny Covin

  • Great shot!

  • @6detroitdiesel5 NO YOUR NOT. If your bullet is travelling @ 2900 fps with a 180 gr bullet and your 0 @ 100, your bullet will be -35 to -42 inches low @ 450 yds. and I say this with all due respect. You cannot get a 180 bullet going any more than 3000 fps with a 26 inch barrel and using a 180 gr bullet.

  • @6detroitdiesel5 NO YOUR NOT. If your bullet is travelling @ 2900 fps with a 180 gr bullet and your 0 @ 100, your bullet will be -35 to -42 inches low @ 450 yds. and I say this with all due respect.

  • Great work guys!!!! I just thought it was funny how you make it sound like you made some long, treacherous stalk and all that. He was bedded in the wide open. How could you help but see the darn thing!!!! LOL Just razzing ya..... Nice bull!!!!!

  • @WolfOfLightning dude what are you like 5 you kill them and USE EVERY PART OF IT fur for leather meat for food head for the trophy either you use it or sell it

  • bad position for shooting lol and beautiful shot!

  • bad position for shooting lol

  • anything can take down anything with the right placed shot.

  • wow he is in thermopolis while iam in worland right now deer hunt my dad got a huge 3x4 now it is my turn

  • Hunters are one of the biggest contributors to animal conservation! Where do you think all the money from tags go and prodution of the meat. Retarded tree huggers!!!

  • Where in WY is this?

  • that elk was like oh I got heart burn lol

  • I'm still green re: hunting but I can't wait to go. I saw this comment the other day and was cracking up..thought you might dig it if you've not seen it yet ;) “To all you hunters who kill animals for food, shame on you; you ought to go to the store and buy the meat that was made there, where no animals were harmed.”

  • awsome elk man ! i just like to know what kind of rifle you took thast great animal with ?

  • thats cool, how do you move it?

  • Beautiful shot!

  • Elk meat.....YUMMY

  • cleanest kill i've seen on youtube

  • my uncle is a hunter he wants a moose this year he lives in wyoming 2

  • dude nice kill, thats my dream hunt is to take a bull elk, nice shot, even nicer animal

  • if you want to drop an elk instantly you need to use something more than a 30-30 i use a 30.06 but i would use a 270 30.06 243 nothing less then those

  • there is no bravery in killing an innocent unarmed animal in cold blood.

    this is savagery.

  • @zulfitareen Takes far more guts to harvest your food directly from the land than to run down to the grocery store

  • @MrAnonymous9876

i believe the marines have the real guts. they are taking bullet in the chest for all of us.

killing an animal does not require any guts.

what is required is the compassion and the realization of the pain of that animal, who has done no harm to you.

  • @zulfitareen Hunters, fishers and trappers have more compassion and respect for animals than anybody else. Something must lose its life for another to continue, even plants are living organisms; human beings are naturally omnivorous, our bodies have evolved to be that way, eating meat is part of being human. Hunters aren't out cruelly torturing animals simply for pleasure, when a hunter kills, one of his goals is to make the cleanest, fastest and most humane shot possible

  • @MrAnonymous9876

i think we will never agree with each other. we both have a different point of view or perspective towards life.

this is what i like about america, you have freedom to follow your dreams and live your lifestyle the way you want it.

i found one thing in common between us. we both love this country very very much.

i wish you all the best, my friend.

  • @MrAnonymous9876

it is absolutely ok to hunt for food, but not just for the sake of sport.

  • @MrAnonymous9876 Amen to that. people must realize.. that they are animals to be cosumed and we arent poping shots off at evrything that comes into range

  • All you Wyoming hunting fans. Check out the OX RANCH facebook page.

  • @MrAnonymous9876 umm i would kill an animal for pleasure

  • @MrAnonymous9876 i love this comment

  • @zulfitareen softees can't make it to the kingdom of the almighty

  • @FLpolo

the real test of who is weak or strong comes when your opponent has the same weapon as you do.

any sissy can kill an innocent unarmed aninmal.

to kill a man armed with same weapon as you do is the real deal.

hunters are cowards. i would not call them animals because animals are better than them.

  • @zulfitareen if you can't kill an animal, you can't even begin to kill a human being. i think the real test of strenght is when both men are unarmed, because anyone can shoot someone. these men are just doing what man has been doing for thousands of years, surviving. do you get mad at the lion for killing the impala? its just the natural course of things. don't call men cowards because of your personal emotions on the subject. its only wrong when you kill for sport and dont eat it or wear it.

  • @zulfitareen I'm the real deal then..And I love to hunt and I'm no coward!! And I have faced armed men,who were better armed than I was. And im still here and there not!

  • @zulfitareen Who protects these animals more than anyone else? NOT people like you! Hunters do. We provide more money to forest service and habitat than ANYONE else. Why do they let us hunt? WINTER habitat. There is only so much of it because of all the building in the big game habitat. Tags are given based on this DATA. So how are you protecting these animals? By bitching at hunters? What would happen if we were not there? STARVATION! OPEN space is NOT growing.

  • @zulfitareen theres no bravery in faggy comment like that.

  • @cole3454657

hunting for food is absolutely ok.

but hunting for fun is savagery.

people slaughtered the etire herd of buffalos in the west for fun in the mid 19th century.

    we now regret their actions.

  • @zulfitareen i agree. but when they killed the buffalo they killed them to cripple the first nations and protect the farmers whose property the buffalo were destroying.

  • @cole3454657

there is always a solution where there is a will.

a solution could hae been found where the interest of native idians and pioneers could be protected.

wiping out the entire species of buffalos represnt the the violent and reckless side of human nature.

i am for hunting for food.

  • Great shot went down fast!

  • How far was that great shot??? Excellent!!! Fuck all U bleedin' heart little bitches!!! Hunt For Life!!!

  • tottaly not cool! i mean killing animlas...for what purpose? pleasure? that's unhuman!

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar how about you shut the fuck up. If you dont like this shit then dont watch it.

  • @kycon3 how bout u shut the fuck up couse even if i stop watching this there will be still crazy mother fuckers like u who kill for fun! THIS WOUNТ CHANGE ANYTHING!!!

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar well ur not changing anything now, ur just showing all of us how big of a pussy you are. killing for fun would be shooting 25 elk and just leaving them there to rot. That's not whats happening here, he hunted 1 and he's going to eat it. the majority of hunters eat what they kill and the minority that don't are looked down upon. now if ur done with the PETA/tree hugging bullshit lets get on with our lives.

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar r u stupid? Hunters dont hunt for fun, douchbags do. Douchbags also rip on real hunters that eat their game. Your a stupid tree hugging pussy fag wannabe. You probably drive a frigging prius u faggot. So stop bashing on real hunters. Secondly, how is watching this video gunna matter u r'tard. Oh, i saw a guy kill an elk, now im going to find a bunch of elk and kill them for fun. wat a pussy faggot r'tard hunting bashing son of an un-american communist Obama liking faggot!

  • @Narutothe30 serious problems...mental it is! dont worry god still loves you no matter what... even tought ur goin to hell! HAVE FUN THERE BIATCH

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar HA HA HA HA I'm Atheist..... There is no hell..... or God for that matter.....

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar Lol... It's times like these that make me feel good I'm atheist....

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar the bible says that god put animals on the earth for humans to harvest and enjoy... so if god put animals on the earth for the sole purpose of a source of food, why would we go to hell for it? according to the bible, its gods will... and hunting is fun, dont get me wrong i love it, but i also do it to put food on the table... and i respect the environment as much as anyone else and i put it to good use...

  • @supercrazysexyninja Hunters respect the environment and care for it those than "anti-hunters" and PETA.

  • @ShiNeLikeAsUperStar go and cut your hear and get some normal clothes freaking hippie

  • @CapperMeeh where did u come from midget? no one asked ur opinion bitch! ur probably gay like ur dad...go suck his little peepee!

  • One of the best home made videos out there. Good job.

  • wow...

  • Nice shot huntdoctor1. My 338 win mag shoots into less than 1/2 moa. I had to scroll down a few pages to see what cartridge you used to make this shot and couldn't believe the bs coming from some of the ignorant idiots about the 30-06. I have 2 of them and let me tell you they are very capable, however they don't have the knockdown power of the 338 or the 300 but nevertheless still very capable. Once again that was one hell of a shot at that range!!!! Excellent video.

  • My german 8mm mauser would be perfect for this.

  • It sounds like a .270 to me.. because I have a .300 and 30-06, doesnt sound like either one of them..

  • hmm, u shootin a 30-06?

  • I want to hunt elk.

  • yeah, sounds like .300 to me. they always seem to have that echo.

  • @FMJhunter in wyoming every gun has that echo so its hard to tell what he is shootin

  • what rifle are you shootinr? a 300?

  • simply amazing. makes it look easy. let me tell you elk are some of the toughest animals to hunt i know of. damn good shot. how far was it and what did you use?

  • im going to the triple 3 outfitters this winter for mulies

  • great bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn i had my volume up too high the gunshot scared the crap out of me

never eaten an elk meat before. how does it taste?

  • just so u know it is freakin awsome!!!! I lived in cheyenne for yrs but moved to Ohio cant hunt them here, so i have to by the meat for $15.99 a pound sucks but worth it

  • great shot placement

  • big one

  • well done

  • wow! congrats man. how long of a hunt did ya plan, cuz it would be kinda wierd planning a long one and then getting it on the first day. o well, amazing bull!

  • One thing we should all agree on is that unless we stick together, we're doing the anti-hunting groups work for them. Try to be supportive of fellow hunters regardless of means and methods and whether or not you agree with them. I personally use the biggest and best rifle I can afford and can shoot accurately. Every caliber mentioned (and questioned) here is adequate for elk with proper shot placement. Bigger/faster is only better if you can control where it goes.

    Peace out, cub scouts!!!

  • See that is the thing there are hunters out there who kill for fun, trophy no real reason and I do not need them speaking for me I hunt only what I am going to eat and try not to support slaughter houses and trophy hunters I go under the old standards of hunting you kill it you eat it, if not and it is not attacking you than respect it and that is 97% of most hunters we hear more about the 3% so I really do not care

  • in my opinion, everything from a 270 win, to a 30-30 to a 338 Win is suitable for elk. "took mine with a 30-30."

  • @fishreaper 270 might be a bit to small though if you ask me but thats just my opionion.

  • Comment removed

  • @SonnyRCAFDC3 well if you hit it right 270 will certenly put the elk on his ass but I would just suggest something bigger like a 7mm mag or a 30-06 or a .300 win mag

  • @viper10011 The 270 will beat a 165 gr 30 06 any day of the week because the case is the same, its just necked down to 27 caliber. If all the rifles you mentioned were sighted in 0 @ 300 yds the 30 06 drops -12.1 inches @ 400 yds and -32.0 @ 500 yds. The 150 gr 270 sighted for 0 @ 300 drops -10.5 @ 400 and -28.1 @ 500. 300 win mag 0 @ 300 drops -10.4 @ 400 and -27.6 @ 500. 7mm mag 0 @ 300 yds drops -10.4 @ 400 and -27.6 @ 500 both the 300 win and 7mm speeds are @ 3000 fps like the 270. Sonny

  • @viper10011 nope lots of my friends have taken MOOSE!! with a 270

  • nice shot

  • if you're 280 yards away why are you whispering in to the camera...?

  • because Elk have astounding hearing. they are basically the equivilants to eagle eyes.

  • haha what super elk have you hunted? Every one that I've shot hasn't taken off until I have fired. We could make as much noise as we wanted, they would only look over and then jog off. Then again that's North West elk, I don't know where you're from

  • hey i checked the charts for the 7mm rem mag,no 180 grain loads and no 300yrd. flat tradgectory at 300 good try though

  • what are you using

  • hes pro :P

  • the 300 win mag is good but i herd it drops 3 inches in 200 yards i have a 7mm rem mag it shoots flat at 300 yards with 180 grain

  • What are you using?

  • 30-06 is the best all around rifle.....300 mag is too strong for deer if u hunt for everything

  • Nice shot, nice rack.

  • that my friend is exellent

  • well done

  • incredible shot!

  • Nice shot man.

  • A 30-06 is way better than barrel burning, hard kicking, expensive ammo magnums. The 308 is a good cartridge too with extreme accuracy. Accuracy is more important than power.

  • this is a rediculous statement, its like saying a vw beetle bug is way better than a ferrari....you point in saying is that an 06 is BETTER than a bigger magnum cartrige?!?! the 06 was made to compete with the german 8mm, striclty killing people, after the war, there were so many lying around, it only made sence to grab one to hunt...it was not inteded to hunt with from ist very beginning-other cartridges today ARE!

  • So you don't agree that accuarcy is more important than power? I don't care if you use a magnum all I'm saying is that I would stick with my 30-06.

  • plenty of pure b.s. about the 06 as a "beginners" caliber. Shove it straight up there buddy. It all depends on the person's ablility to shoot that certain caliber, .300 win mag kicks a little more than some people may want. Don't get upset because the .30-06 is an all around great choice. Funny though... the .270 and .280 are based on this "beginner" cartridge.
