  • Funny the people who talk protecting kids are the ones who advocate abusing spankings, Im not against spanking but Im against abuse, what's better a child with two moms or dads or a parent that hits unneccesarly.

  • You find it offensive to compare the anti gay movement with racism, then you compare homosexuality to murder and lying.

  • James dobson shouldn't talk about kids welfare he support abusive spanking.

  • This makes me glad I'm an atheist.

  • Dobson is an idiot

  • america was never founded as a christian nation. we as christians should focus more on becoming like christ ourselves and winning souls than rewriting legislature and banning the 'unholy' (God saved us from our sins, so we shouldn't pretend like were better than anyone. i believe in preaching against sin, but 'converting the state' isnt commanded by christ (btw 0:19; isnt the PARENT's job to teach the child 'the way to go' according to Proverbs?)

  • I don't see how anybody listening to this man's banter and accepting it knows the meanings of being reasonable, open, understnding, unified, loving, respectful, compassionate or forgiving. How can Dobson call himself Christian? He needs one long, drawn-out session with Dr. Ruth, Dr. Phil, Sally or maybe a psychotherapist to put him on the right track. He's dangerous and disturbed. Let's set him right while he's still around.

  • The day James Dobson dies will be a great day for humanity

  • James Dobson is a self-centered, self-righteous fraud. Thank heaven he is no longer with Focus on the Family. He needs to be put out to pasture. He's caused enough destruction with his self-aggrandizing money grubbing empire. It's hard to believe so many Christian would put their hard earned cash toward this creep!

  • This guy is so full of it! He isn't even a real doctor! And for all of you who just think he is "protecting" marriage, Please explain to me how letting everyone get married to who they are in love with impacts you personally, or threatens marriage? I am married to a wonderful man, but I know that if my gay best friend marries his longtime boyfriend, I will be happy, not threatened! Think for yourselves, and stop following hate mongerers!

  • what god. what lord. if there is a greater power out there why would he/she/it let things become so terrible. tht's not a merciful lord tht i want to be a part of. i'm not going to tell ppl what they should do or not but religion should not be a part of the government, it's just wrong it'll skew everything to into it's own course leaving us with only tht religion in the end, because no religion can survive without followers so that is the ultimate goal.

  • Being anti-gay in 2009, is like being anti-segregation in the 1950's.

It's like wathcing those old awfully racist clips of "White/Black Only" drinking fountains and such. People who are anti-gay are acting the same exact way. And will have the same history written about them. This comes from a straight person.

  • Just because alot of people accept homosexuality doesn't mean it's right. Alot of people accepted slavery, but that doesn't mean it was right.

  • No - it's not the same AT ALL. Most people will say it quite the opposite. Accepting racism and slavery was accepted at one point, and denying people rights is accepted now. One day it won't be, and you will all be looked upon as history's oppressors.

  • I'm an Afro-Latino. I find your statement quite offensive. And I've seen racism first-hand from my white friends. Homosexuals know nothing about racism. The fight they've encountered is completely irrelevant. People are born with a sin nature -- that's why we have homosexuals, lairs, Hippocrates, porno, murders, thieves etc. Jesus came to save me/us from my sinful desire to do contrary to what he wants. Jesus Christ came to restore our life of sin by dieing on a cross and conquering death.

  • i'm sorry tht you see my comment that way but that is the way i see it. you are free to your beliefs but we'll have to agree to disagree on this.

  • i have a legitimate question. if god created us in his image but then sent jesus christ to show us tht what we were born into wanting to do is wrong, then wouldn't tht make jesus acting on satans behalf? because why would god create us this way and then tell us we're living wrong?

  • God created us in His image man and woman. God is both masculine and feminine in harmony. Since the human fall, we have acquire our fallen nature. We have many desires that are not from Him.

God did not create us that way

  • ok i can see the point in tht, but i still can't embrace something that's pushed on to others by most, i'm not saying you do but i've had some pretty extreme experiences with someone trying to convert me and i don't agree with that. i'll live in the way i choose. i obey the law and i do what i can that's right and what i view to be good and i think everyone should be able to live in that way.

  • @dreamagery Ao associate homosexuality with lying, hyppocracy, morder, thievery, any direct act of attrocity is a sin in itself. I've known black-American/Latino-American gays & lesbians. Because of people who think as you do dreamagery, they're still stuck at the back of the bus.

  • @dreamagery why are they you're friends if they're racist?

  • Being pro marriage, the union of one man and one woman each one representing the other side of humanity is beautiful. You are calling us anti gay. What shall we call those who are anti marriage. The other sex segregationist

  • Trying to have a conversation with people like you is like trying to have a serious conversation with my 2 yr. old neice who still believs in Santa.

The most jackass people tend to speak on behalf of "god". The bible is just a book of fables. Like Dr. Seuss.

  • @KultureJamCollective Actually trying to have conversations with any people who are brainwashed is like trying to have a conversation with people who followed David Koresh or Jim Jones. It's almost impossible to make them see how delusional they are. Religion can be a very destructive thing for societies. There are, however, mainline Christian faith's who are supportive and progressive toward people who are the outcasts of Christian extremism like the Dobson Cult.

  • @Rockymtntruth The day such people can finally make Dobson and his ignoramus peers wake up and smell the coffee will be a glad day for humanity."Did you ever stop to notice this crying earth is weeping sure?" - Michael Jackson.

  • @CircleCityEric You're right on. Too many Americans are like dumb sheep. They don't think about what it is they are doing. They also don't think about how their choices affect others and in cases like this control freak Dobson they really don't get the fact that this man is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He really is evil.

  • @KultureJamCollective Take a bow, KJC. Except, it's "Anti-Integration," not "Anti-Segregation." Cheers!

  • In years past women didn't have equal rights. Black people were enslaved, then discriminated against (and in some states they were not allowed to marry who they wanted). Today, it is the homosexuals who are being denied basic human rights.

I trust that our country will someday overcome bigots like Dobson (in the same way this country overcame hateful groups like the KKK) and allow homosexuals to enjoy the rights every American should.

  • Kudos to James Dobson. We cannot rob children of the wonders of having a great man and a special woman in parenthood. The reason Prop 8 passed is because Prayer Is Powerful!!! Jesus Christ is Still alive today and fighting for his church.

  • I totally agree with you.

  • 1. I hope you meet Jesus one day, and not the made up Jesus of today's "Christianity".

    2. Denying gay marriage neither does not the chances of children "having a great man and a special woman in parenthood". Gay people have children every day in and outside of marriage, and that's because they WANT them, unlike many straight parents who make a "mistake" and treat their kids poorly as a result, or single parents.

  • Hi Melissa. I'm tempted to go in cirlcles and bicker and fight over this. But I know that would be wrong to you and certainly not beneficial to me. I totally do not want to worship the Jesus of today. I want to worship the Jesus of Scripture. I hope we all worship the Jesus of Scripture carefully knowing that Jesus Christ is God and loves us intimately and dearly. I feel bad for those who do not know Scripture. Their missing out on God's love letter to us.

  • Everything that comes out of this guy's mouth is bullshit. He's doing it for money, power, and pride, and thats all. If Christians really want to help themselves out, they should totally get rid of this guy. "Even the Devil can cite scripture for his purpose"-Shakespeare

  • Exactly. I think, if there is a devil, he uses people like Dobson to create division and turn more and more people away from "Christianity" (well, the religion that exists today, which is nothing like what it's supposed to be).

  • Theocracy is not democracy

  • To the poster of this video: You posted these videos from TheCall to make fun of us, but I have been greatly blessed by these videos, as you are the only person who posted them. So really you've just helped me.

  • PROP 8 PASSED!!!! PRAYER WORKS!!!

  • His cloak is so threadbare that his dagger is now in full view.

  • Praise the Name of Jesus for everyone who attended and prayed!

  • As usual, Dobson has it wrong. When he refers to the protesters that follow him everywhere - he says that they were (mostly) harmed earlier in life. Funny,

I usually ask most fundamentalists what happened to them in their lives that caused them to believe what they believe. And guess what? Most had a traumatic experience that made them reach out for something, and they found jesus. The rest had something happen much earlier in life, and that is called "fear and indoctrination of children".

  • Yes, you may believe in a moral standard, but you have to have reasons to believe in that moral standard. Biblical reasons won't suffice since not everyone will accept them. You have to have non religious reasons for your moral standard. But there are no non religious reasons why granting a consensual loving couple marriage will harm other people, since there seems to be nothing wrong with a loving couple being together. What is wrong with their devotion towards one another?

  • what he didn't say....

"It is about hate, and it is about telling other people what to do, and it is about pushing your own ideas on everyone else, and it is about fear, and it is about dogma...."

He can call it love, but that doesn't make it true. Shame on this old dinosaur.

  • God Bless Dr. Dobson. He's a gift from God.

  • @socalcollins No he isn't. He could be if he changed his mind about judging people. But now, he's no more a gift from God than a red ant.

  • Thanks for posting this video! And Thank God that James Dobson was able to visit us in California! He is right on. Let's vote to protect our state and our nation from "anything goes" marriages and ensuing chaos. Let's protect our churches' rights to freedom of speech. Let's love homosexuals with Jesus' love and let them know that He has a plan, a hope and a future for each of them!

  • @th0th8 Thank God he is no longer in power at Focus on the Fallacy. He's a creepy old man.

  • Thank you for posting this video of Dr. Dobson, a man who stands for the truth and facts our nation needs to hear, and he does so with love and integrity. My husband and I were at The Call yesterday but had to leave before Dr. Dobson spoke. I am glad that I was able to see him via this video. As Dr. Dobson, said here, "This is not about hate, this is about love..." Love speaks the truth.

  • There is nothing loving about lobbying for a bill that discriminates against people.

  • the term "discrimination" is being thrown around a lot this election. It's not being properly used.

The term "gay marriage" is actually not a correct term to use. It is same-sex marriage. Being against "gay marriage" implies we single out gay people and saying "you can't get married." The fact is they ARE allowed to marry. We believe in anybody's right to marry, but we believe in a law that defines it as a man and woman. That is not discrimination.

  • Everybody in this state is still subject to the same law regardless of what your preferences are. It is not discrimination to believe in a specific definition to the term "marriage."

The argument you make is a very slippery slope. There are many people who believe in polygamy and marriage to animals. Should we consider recognizing those unions as marriage? With your argument, we are discriminating against those people too.

  • Because a law is in someway inconvenient to your preference does not make it discrimination. That's like saying laws against drug use are discriminatory against people who prefer to use drugs. Discrimination is when certain people are singled out and are subject to different laws. Gays, lesbians, straights, bisexuals, Asians, blonds, brunettes etc. any group of people, whatever you might be, are still subject to the same law regardless of what their preferences may be.

  • Everyone may be, but the state would discriminate if Prop 8 were passed, between straight couples and gay couples- by saying that I mean that it would draw a distinction uncalled for and arbitrarily discriminate based on this distinction. The argument re polygamy and animals doesn't hold because the reasons why we should grant same sex relationships marriage are the same for granting interracial relationships marriage, namely, two consenting adults ought to be able to marry. That reason can't

  • Why are bestiality and polygamy "worse"? in many cases polygamy is consensual, and many animals enjoy relations with humans. That has nothing to do with why people don't acknowledge it as marriage. The fabric of every civilization on earth for as long as we know has only been between man and woman, and it has, for the most part, always been a religious institution. The people have a right to define what marriage means. And most people prefer to stick with the traditional meaning.

  • There is more scope for exploitations within polygamous relationships and it's extremely hard for them not to involve jealousy amongst the many people involved since some are favoured more than others. As for animals, they can't consent to have sex, and it is impossible to have the same kind of relationship with an animal as with a human. I'm insulted you think homosexuality comparable.

  • This conversation is going nowhere. Honestly. I have known gay couples and gay people through my life. I have been friends with a good number. I don't hate them. I think they are all very nice people. That has nothing to do with whether I believe it is right or wrong. It has nothing to do with how I don't believe in gay marriage. We could go on all day about this. The simple fact is there are many people who don't believe in it - atheists and Christians and many dif religions alike.

  • It does, in that the probability that one is more tolerant of gay behaviour increases when one knows gay people, according to a recent Pew report. There are reasons to believe, but there seem to be no reasons to believe homosexual conduct, in and of itself, is wrong, apart from religion. But not everyone accepts religion, so a strong argument against such conduct should have non-religious premises.

  • Just out of interest, do you know any gay couples? I strongly suspect that, were you to become acquainted with some, your attitude would dramatically change. It would, I predict, be a Pauline conversion! For they may have families just like you may, they may have lived with one another for 40 years, just like you do, they may have children studying at University, just like you do.

  • You say you are insulted that I'm comparing polygamy and bestiality to homosexuality. Both of those have existed just as long as homosexuality has. What moral standard are you using to say those are wrong and homosexuality is right?

Polygamy was widely accepted throughout history many times. The idea of the 1 man and 1 woman standard we have today came from the Bible. So where are you getting that it has to be just 2 people? Even that idea came from the Bible.

  • The moral reasons I believe this is because love between two humans seems to be a perfectly natural and wonderful thing, and needn't be harmful. On the other hand, fully fledged relations between groups of people aren't capable of being sustained, in the main, without causing great harm.

  • hey. I'm not trying to demonize you. I'm just simply saying I believe in a moral standard, as do many other people, that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman. I and many other Christians still have great love for homosexuals just like we do anybody else. We just don't agree with homosexual practice, and we don't agree in same-sex marriage.

  • Relations between animals and humans are non-consensual, and I believe that sexual relations should be consensual. Therefore relations with animals are wrong. So, you see, the slippery slope doesn't work because the reasons why I want to grant gay marriage, another person ought to be able to marry any other person provided it's consensual and doesn't harm anyone, don't function as reasons for providing marriage to polygamists or bestiality advocate.

  • The reasons for homosexual relations not being immoral aren't reasons for polygamy and bestiality not being immoral. Therefore my view entails me to homosexuality being moral but not to polygamy or bestiality. One can't equate them because relationships between two people are qualitatively different from relations between more than 2, because relations between two or more are prone to greater exploitation and harm.

  • @lambyoung James Dobson has never known the meaning of love, respect, understanding, faith, compassion, unity, openness or any of the things that make a Christian. But, he can be made to. He has to stop blasting people and start getting to know them. He can repent, so can his followers and so can his "peers." First of all, stop him from condemning, bigotting, judging without cause and start him listening (to something besides the sound of his own voice).

  • @lambyoung James Dodson is a fake and a bigot. He has is the devil reincarnate. How much sense does this make. "I love you, I mean I hate that you are an igornant asshole that has been indoctrinated by years of other bigots telling you what to think and that you inabililty to think for youself has led you to cult-like following of these bigots, and the fact that your religion is full of lies and contradictions, but I love you as a person".. How does that make you feel? its hate not love he spews

  • @TheJobi1 You are sadly misinformed and indoctrinated in your own brand of hate. You are spewing ignorance & foolishness in the name of "tolerance." Cursing & name calling doesn't advance anyone's cause & betrays a basic lack of self-respect (James Dobson has never engaged in either name calling/cursing as he has enough respect for himself & others to measure his words). I don't intend to engage in a running debate with you as I would only expose myself to further vitriol and waste my time.

  • @lambyoung See that's funny that you jump to that conclusion. James Dodson has ruined lives and been partially responsible for young gay people committing suicide, that's a fact. You should watch "for the bible tells me so" and then say Jimmy dudson "measures his words". Your god is made up!! The real Jesus/God would never condone any of this hate speech, remember he made us all the way we are. So you can take your ball and go home like most fundamentalist christians when they back up their hate

  • nice brainwashing
