@100thbombgroup Cheers matey. You'll have to nip across the continent one time for one of these galas. We can get some great footage of the beer tent.
Nice to catch up with things that I missed! So much going on up and down the line. I must have been stood next to you at Rothley when 78019 and 30777 went to Leicester.
@TimHall42 It was indeed a busy gala, and I knew there was no way I'd really even scratch the surface in my one day visit. Nice to rub shoulders with you in the crowd!
Dear H, there is a strong feeling of presence in your videos thanks to expert angle of view, perfect light and impeccable sound. One can almost sense the smell of coal, smoke and hot metal. Great work. Thank you.
@inversusful I appreciate all comments on my videos, whether they be positive or critical. Thanks you for your very kind words - Im grateful you took the time to comment. I hope there will be a lot more steamy days in 2012. Thanks again.
Brilliant video of what was a brilliant gala, that's also some of the best video quality I've seen on here, thumbs up =) I spied myself at 02:45, green fleece, black hat stood on the bank.
@letmadnessbegin Its always funny to spot yourself in other peoples videos, I think so anyway. At least if you can see someone else in your shot, that means you arent both getting the exact same shot! It was indeed a brilliant event, and my only regret is that I couldnt stick around longer. Thanks for commenting.
@34027 Thanks very much for the great comment. The weather was kind to us, although it was bleedin' freezin' - well I guess you cant complain about that at a winter gala really. Yes, they did lay the whistle on a bit, the crew of 46521 - and I doff my cap to them for it. Thanks again.
wow, wow , the detail. I can't believe the difference that the hd makes. now I understand why you went the extra mile mate. blimey. that is truly incredible. well done mate.
@miserableoldcunt Ha Ha, thanks mate, the investment has paid off well methinks - Even the wife could notice the difference. I just need to get out a lot again this year - really get my monies worth. Thanks a lot bud.
Your shed scenes and low angled shots cannot be bettered Mr. Hanglands , the close-ups taken rekindle the joy ,awe,(and slight wariness !) young trainspotters felt when encountering these creatures "up-close and personal" in the days of steam.
@SuperWHIZZO Thanks very much mate. The low angled shots seem to go down well. Its is good to get up close to the valve gear and side rods, just gets a bit wearing constantly wiping the crud and water off the lens! Im very pleased it rekindled some memories for you - it was a lot of fun for me. Regards.
@HomeMoviePerson Thanks for your valued comment. Wandering around the shed before the day starts in earnest is one of my favourite things to do. Regards.
Very nice video in deed, I will have to get myself out to one of these Steam Gala's some time (When and Where not sure) this year and take some photos, thanks for sharing Hanglands, nice to see these trains up and running just like 50 years ago when I was seven..
@Langtoftphotography You just cant go wrong photographing or filming steam - its so easy becuase these are such photogenic beasts. They almost jump out and press the shutter release for you. If you fancy it, why not get down to the NVR at Easter to see Tornado? Many thanks for watching and commenting. Regards.
I loved the dropping and taking mail scheme at 03:27...are there detailed views of the devices?
