@weky22 All iguanas have different personalities - yours is probably just a bit more timid than most. I would recommend sitting in the same room as the iguana for around two hours a day ignoring the lizard until he starts to move around a bit more (+ place out food when you enter the room). Do not look at the iguana, do not make any sudden movements.

When he starts to act a bit more comfortable, move closer to the iguana, and so on. When he is comfortable with you being close, you can - cont.-

@weky22 start to do small things like pushing around his food or playing with small objects, etc. Make sure that his behavior isn't from some sort of outside source (loud environment, improper heating, improper lighting, other pets). Also keep in mind that reptiles are generally stationary animals as they only have a triple chambered heart and their body isn't good at conserving heat (cold blooded). I wouldn't worry too much - your pet is likely happy and healthy.

@ThexMetalxWithin There a lot of work but if your dedicated to give them what they need then they are great pets. Get one as a baby and handle him a lot. Also they become quite large and need a lot off space... Mostly height because they love to climb. They need to be warm and have plenty of moister. Good luck

@BRYthereptileguy We try to feed him food that provide the same vitamins and minerals that he would get in the wild. So... watercress, dandelions, butternut squash, sugar-snap peas, parsnip and so on. He loves "nasturtium" plants and flowers... which, are very good for him and are easy to grow and spread like crazy in UK weather. Occasionally, some banana, strawberries as well. We give him sprinklings of a calcium substitute too, something like Vionate (I think that's what it is called).

Hello... sorry, this is my first comment on my own video... I didn't realise it was so popular! So, this is Floyd, he is a male Green Iguana, 12 years old and still going strong!!! We have had him since he was 5 and he is a big part of our family. He is quite orange but this does tend to happen when kept in captivity (especially in the UK where he doesn't get too much nice sun).

@rileytwist88 UVB lights can never replace natural sunlight. They also do not provide any heat! Floyd has his own bedroom with 2 x 3ft UVB tube lights; one large basking lamp (for.... basking); and his room is kept at a temperature of around 75deg (I think.. can't remember exactly) by thermostat. He also has a humidifier pumping mist throughout the day.

depending on how old they are you can look on the inside of the back legs and if its a male they have these pores that run along the leg. Females have really small ones. The gowels are also larger on males.

for this Iguana the only thing you'd have to be worried about is him getting spooked by a dog or loud car, when their scared they can sprint hella fast...but nomatter how tame your Iguana is you CANT let them out of sight for more that 2-3 seconds
