I shall try the vinegar in the iron technique. I used a lemon solution on my last iron but had to throw it out as a dirty residue kept expelling from the steam holes.
i have extreme chemical sensitivities and for years i use spray bottles filled with half vinegar, half water that i use to rinse things with after i wash them with soap -- hands, dishes, counters, etc.. i even have one in my shower to spray all around after the shower to discourage mildew growth.
i use a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide that i use on counters and things that need that extra disinfecting. i use 20 volume hydrogen peroxide in my laundry or anywhere people would use bleach.
clean your hair brushes?!?! getting a little desperate to reach 5 uses are we? Could have just skipped a number like you did in the baking soda episode.
@undermyellowumbrella there are hundreeds of uses for vinegar if you feel she is lacking a 5th use.
1vinegar water and tea tree oil in a spray bottle - mould killer/ preventive
2add to you wash cycle as a fabric softener and anti mould treatment to towels
3add a splash to your rinse water when washing up or as a finishing liquid to your dishwasher if you must use one to remove any soap scum off glassware and crockery and add bring up stainless steel utensils.
@OdonataPlague 4 use in your rince water when washing your hair , removes soap and product build up leaving your hair clean balanced, soft and shiny.
5 use as a stain spot treater on clothes and linen
6 mix 50/50 vinegar and water and a teaspoon or two of bicarb soda
7 sprinkle bicarb soda on any bench stains from fruit or on bathroom vanity from say hair dye , spray with vinegar allow to fizz and scrub out the stains
@OdonataPlague 8 a fav , 50/50 water and vinegar makes a safe cleaner for pet products - great for cleaning bird cadges, makes light work of droppings and is friendly to sensitive little family members .
I keep diluted vinegar in a pray bottle and use it all the time! Great to use as a rinse after cleaning my kitchen floor, it removes the soapy film. I also use it on counters, kitchen table, chairs, stainless steel appliances, faucets and it removes soap scum from tile!
I used this o clean my shower head same principle as kettle and did not damage gold plating
