top speed should be 186mph, as i believe all Japanese manufacturers have an agreement to restrict top speed to that, de-restricted who knows, maybe hitting on 200mph

last bike I had was a Gixxer Thou K5, which i think is the best gixxer thou of the lot (maybe K1, as I had one of them and they were mental) I think the K9 looks amazing, but i don't agree with the two exhausts, they are just wrong on sportsbikes, but if you put your own aftermarket ones on, then problem solved and what you have is an awesome looking bike which is better than the competition.
I never have liked the look of these, all take and rep, no action with these bikes. HUGE back end dual exhaust that takes up two lanes on the road = weight. Horsepower is overrated and not at all what is actually at the rear wheel. I would say suzuki has fallen to about the last manufacturer in the superbike scene. Best to stick with bikes that actually go and not ones on rap videos.

I think the new k9 is an awesome looking machine, i'm still not sold on the twin exhaists, but the bike still looks amazing, if it's as light and powerfull as they say, and with the shorter wheelbase then this thing is gonna handle brilliantly, and go like a bat outta hell with a chilli up it's arse, which is the ways GSXR's are supposed to be

It is all a question of taste. You think that bike is not a catch but many thing that it is a break throw and a pretty sharp bike. Look at the back section how nice they did it. Anyway ride safe
I've owned a K1 gixer thou and a K5, and think that the best by far in the entire series from k1-k8 is the k5, but this new k9 look amazing, wish they would do either underseat exhausts or a tiny one near the belly pan, not a fan of the two pipes on either side, but k9 is supposed to be lighter, shorter and have more power, that can only be good, i think it's time the gixer's re-took the crown.

I own a 2K6 GSXR 1000. Love the new tail-section on the 09. The new headlights are pretty cool too. But Suzuki, Please "KILL" The Dual Exhaust it's really making my stomach churn.
The exhaust looks like it lookes, because they had to keep the motor vehicle emission down.. I think:) But all you have to do is change it, then you have å great bike, with a even better sound!:D

looks more of a Race Bike than the 1000 k8, the k8 has a fat tank and a less reving engine, longer wheel base, shorter swing arme, less comp. ratio, bulkier chassis. it started to look bad against zx10 k8 (more Race bike, gets Ohlin steering damper and traction control as standard!). Suzuki want to get back whith the 1000 k9, thats more or less an upgraded 750 k8 to a 1000 version with styling and a lap timer. waiting to see a nice peice of yosh on it.
I've noticed the 2009 R1 has a 13,500 rpm limit, and this K9 Gsxr-1000 has a 14,000 rpm limit. Maybe, just maybe Yamaha showed their cards to early. One thing for sure Suzuki is all in. This bike will be awesome in person with aftermarket exhaust installed, that applies to the Yamaha too. Let the wars begin.
It is all about taste. Some like the new one while other don't, I personally think that the 08 is not that sexy even more with the front light. They did a very good job with the front and rear in the 09. But than again beauty is all about taste. For all of you that don't like the 2009's look well i guess you have a reason now to wait for 2011. Good luck everyone and ride safe.

Just because there is a 2-3 mph top speed difference to R1 doesnt mean it is a better bike.
And all road-racing (motogp etc...) bikes are tuned,they have nothing to do with stock bikes.

I've owned a K1 gixer thou and a K5, and think that the best by far in the entire series from k1-k8 is the k5, but this new k9 look amazing, wish they would do either underseat exhausts or a tiny one near the belly pan, not a fan of the two pipes on either side, but k9 is supposed to be lighter, shorter and have more power, that can only be good, i think it's time the gixer's re-took the crown.

The CBR1000RR dethroned the "King Kong" last year. We'll see what zuk brings to the table in 09.

I own a 2K6 GSXR 1000. Love the new tail-section on the 09. The new headlights are pretty cool too. But Suzuki, Please "KILL" The Dual Exhaust it's really making my stomach churn.

The exhaust looks like it lookes, because they had to keep the motor vehicle emission down.. I think:) But all you have to do is change it, then you have å great bike, with a even better sound!:D

Yea excellent point...I do agree that the exhausts aren't really a big problem because you can just get a Yoshimura slip-on to replace them :) Your English is actually very good man. I assume from your apoligetic comment that it is a second language for you. Well the fact is that your post here is better written than those of half of the Americans who post on Youtube lol :)

looks more of a Race Bike than the 1000 k8, the k8 has a fat tank and a less reving engine, longer wheel base, shorter swing arme, less comp. ratio, bulkier chassis. it started to look bad against zx10 k8 (more Race bike, gets Ohlin steering damper and traction control as standard!). Suzuki want to get back whith the 1000 k9, thats more or less an upgraded 750 k8 to a 1000 version with styling and a lap timer. waiting to see a nice peice of yosh on it.

I've noticed the 2009 R1 has a 13,500 rpm limit, and this K9 Gsxr-1000 has a 14,000 rpm limit. Maybe, just maybe Yamaha showed their cards to early. One thing for sure Suzuki is all in. This bike will be awesome in person with aftermarket exhaust installed, that applies to the Yamaha too. Let the wars begin.

It is all about taste. Some like the new one while other don't, I personally think that the 08 is not that sexy even more with the front light. They did a very good job with the front and rear in the 09. But than again beauty is all about taste. For all of you that don't like the 2009's look well i guess you have a reason now to wait for 2011. Good luck everyone and ride safe.

Bought myself a brand new K8 only last week, was a bit worried I had made a bad move knowing the K9 was about to be released. looking at these pics the saving of over a grand wasn't such a bad move!

Looks very similar to the k7/k8 1000 only thing i dont like are the whale dick exhausts,look's like i'll be part exing my k7 1000 next april.....
9/10 would be 10/10 but the exhausts are horrible........
