i always use worm for perch but never seem to get a decent stamp of fish the lake i fish has all kinds of fish carp to 15lb or more tench to 6 decent bream and a few big pike but cant seem to find any big stripeys any tips thanks the 1 kie
Didn't you stop moving the smaller perch so the big one could grab it?
I was fishing on a gravel pit last September, caught a Gudgeon, as I was bringing it in I saw a big Perch chase it, so I stopped the Gudgeon, the Perch grabbed it and I caught the Perch, it weighed 4lb.
In October at the same venue I was spinning and caught a Perch almost 5lb.
While I was fishing today, I threw in a few loose maggots and the Roach and Rudd were taking them, I suddenly saw a big Perch move in and the small fish scattered, | saw him again a couple of times, he was obviously hunting.
I hooked a small gudgeon..as I was bringing it in, the Perch saw it and chased it, I left the gudgeon in the water and the perch took it...I struck and hooked the Perch, after a good scrap I landed it, it weighed just over 4lb, a friend took 2 pics sending one to A/Times
i like what u are doing and the way you appreciate the environment but i think u do fish seriously heavy and i have had just the same results from over feeding the shelf with red maggots and havin 2 maggots on the hook. its best done on a warm day at around about 7 in the evening.
hello i am a perch fisherman iswell i live in england i spin and use lob worms one day on my local canal i caught 6 perch in the space of 30 minuits i realy hope i get another session like that again and keep up your good work i like your eel and pike vidoes very well done

r u really chumming for perch?? come on man u spend all ur time at bird watching and flower gazing! y dont u come to america like somewhere in northern minnesota and catch yourself some real fish!

stick to watching birds and looking at floawers mate, you cant fish to save your life, try chopping some worms up and you would never have a perching black session, and you would have a bag of fish, not black, my god you talk rubbish!!
Im happy to send pics of the fish to anyone but im not posting them on here. They are memories more than the fish the pics for me now. I miss this kind of fishing as im stuck into the world of carp. i think watching a few more of these may well make me dip my lighter lines and get me coarse gear out again after so many years. 5*s vid.
Yep i would have had the records for the perch im not sure on the tench but as i said i wasnt bothered, i was just happy to be off school fishing with my dad. I would be more bothered now put it that way. i understand you may not believe me and it doesnt bother me at all. I just think theres probably other people out there who have had massive catches like that which have gone un recorded. Perch are lovely fish as are tench, great perch vid, very well done. :o)
My largest Perch is 5lb 3 oz. My largest Tench is 12lb 11 oz. Both caught in the crappiest smallest farmers draining ditch/dyke you could ever imagine fish being in. I was around 13 years old (Im not 30). I have both pics and the weight on scales to show but back then records wasnt on my mind, i wasnt even fishing for large fish, i was with my dad. Its only now i realise just what ive caught and i dont expect to ever catch anything like that again in my life.
when i went with my uncle we caught about 50 small perch/roach and even a couple breme in about 2 hour and a half, granted it was a public fishing place, not a farm, but still we were landing every 5 minutes on maggots :S
Nice video - I'm mainly a Pike angler at the minute - although I fish a stretch of river 15 miles from mine and have been catching lots of Perch 1-1.5lb on dead bait which is very good sport.
hi av bin fishing for perch for 2 years and i just caut my first perch yesterday can u plz tell me what am dooing wrong and wer to fish for them the name of the river is called the river griffe
I live in Doncaster so thats more east, i think the River Don has quite a few fish because there are quite alot of fishing spots, or whatever you call them, dug out with numbers by them because there are sometimes competitions. But me and my friend go further upstream to a quieter area.
Also, is it right that perch like to go near underwater objects like branches and reeds, and like being in shade under bridges etc.
Me and my friend are going to get some tomorrow morning, theres a tackle shop a couple of miles up the road, so hopefully we'll catch something, i think it makes fishing more interesting with a friend, you can have little competitions, who catches the first/most or biggest :)
Glad we're under 16 so we got our licenses for only £5 :D
I'm from Germany! It's a great video! You are a very good filmer! We don't have many canals in here so I often try to catch perches with worms in the river. Last week I caught one (54 cm)...
nice perch,,that was a good catch,,,by the way i find that if you put the rod bait near the wall or bank...u tend to get a few decent fish that go there to look for worms ect then i get a few good catches if you get me
Thanks for the upload! You're one encouraged angler, thats for sure! I'm going to have my 52nd session tomorrow, had some great fishing in the last 2 weeks.
I see your using an epics pro reel I use those and they really are a fantastic real, great choice mate!! why dont you try fishing lob worm for Perch, as I find it is more attracting to the perch to have something moving, I'm saying this because I caught my biggest perch on a ledgered worm(3lb). But a live gudgeon will do just the same.
Also it's what ever bait you feel most confident with, if you believe in a bait I find you are most likely to catch with it.
