  • You got it!!!

  • Watching you closely, this isn't actually all that hard for someone at my skill level, but then again, I'm five years older than you were when you made this video (though I've only been playing for one). So that's still impressive. Great job.

  • This video is featured on The Who's website.

Amazing! Great to see young people that love great music.

  • I wish I'd discovered The Who (and my love of playing guitar) as early as you did (I'm about to be 22, and I know that's not too old, but still). Keep on rocking, and especially keep on listening to that "nice rock 'n roll band from Shepherd's Bush, London, The 'Ooo"!

  • go on mason play like that keith and john might come back!

  • @moontheloon1969 I wish I could of seen them at Leed's, that would of been great.

  • Fantastic. You are truly talented. Keep it up!

  • you gotta wonder if Townshend has seen this video....he's got Pete's jumps and chops down.

  • Mason Woodward: I watched you today for the first time with tears in my eyes. Tears of joy. At a down time in my life, you gave me what I'd been missing: hope and a dream and the power of talent (yours and mine). You're an awesome talent, and an inspiration. Never stop rockin;. You are already more powerful than you know you are.

  • Thank you, I hope things are going better in your life. Music has saved me many times and I don't know what I would do with out it. I was almost killed a little over a year ago by a drunk driver and music is what got me through it. It's sounds like you play, never give up and play forever! Pete, Roger, Keith and John have given my my love of music and I will always remember that. Glad my playing picked you up, take care. Mason

  • This dude is heavensent for the good of rock.

  • There's still hope for the future of rock...Kick Ass.

  • brilliant

  • Keep on Rockin' dude!

  • Thatta boy!

  • If any of your mates ever takes the mick out of your taste in music ignore them fella, keep this up and you will be a rich guy!

  • you kick ass man. It would be kickass if you pursued your talent in your future man, the mainstream is filled up with too much bullshit right now, we could do with a classic rock revival.

  • Dude, you freakin' rule!!!

  • Kid, you rock.

  • Mason, you rock !

  • Hey you rock, haha :) Nice guitar by the way!

  • I just noticed that this video is featured on the official Who site, under 'movies', then 'WhoTube'. That's amazing. Great job.

  • Rockin', Mason! I really like that you're adding your own licks into the solo!

Ya gotta love the lineage here . . . from the composer, Mose Allison, born in the Mississippi Delta in 1927 . . . to arranger/ interpreter Pete Townshend born in London in 1945 . . to the student Mason, born in Oklahoma in 1998.

Adding this to my list of reasons to have hope for the future.

  • I'm always telling people Mose Allison wrote this song, but the Live at Leeds version is my favorite. I was born in 1997 not 1998, I'm still 11 and won't be 12 until August. Thank you for your comment. Mason

  • I agree mate this versions is a lot better!

  • @masonwoodward Thank you for telling people Mose Allison wrote it! Jeez! Nowadays, anyone at my school who knows this song only knows it through the Who, and sure, that's the first time I heard it too, but despite how great they are, they didn't write it! Thank you for being one of the few people to acknowledge the original writer.

  • cool

  • Really cool video and great playing. If you want to get a little more routy, jump up and down, and do the arm swings more watch Pete Towsend on the Live 1970 video "Young Man Blues - The Isle Of Wreight" video. It is Youtube video number: ZqRytQospMA Pete Towsend just goes crazy at around 4:00minutes - 4:30.

  • Pete said to be myself, play along with songs I like but to find my own way. Thats what I'm doing, I want to write my own songs. Thank you for your comment.

  • would not believe it...anyone under the age of 40 even knowing this song....or the Who...

many sections were dead on...I cannot remember if Pete played a Les Paul on this...but it sounds correct (I am bass player) keep it up and tell all those hip hoppers that this is what they should be into...

  • i used to but not quite like you i knew most of the chords though

  • OUTSTANDING!!!

  • Well done!!! Good luck in the future.

  • Nice guitar playing there, Young Man! You're right about how hard it is to find a good drummer, that's the key to having a good band. Hopefully you're writing some originals too, or will learn too. Pete's great, but follow your own muse! And good luck!

  • Awesome! You sound great! I love the Who and I'm a guitarist too, just a bit older, haha. You're a very good guitarist at a young age so you're only going to get better! Keep up the great work and never stop playing guitar!

  • Hey, that's pretty awesome playing Mason. Wish I could play that good. Pete and The Who rule!

  • Thats absolutely awesome kid. Young man Blues is such an amazing song and your performance seemed flawless. If you like live at leeds I would love to see you learn "Heaven and Hell" cause that track is smoking!

  • Thank you, Live at Leeds is my favorite album and I really enjoy playing to it. I hope one day to have a band to play with.

  • I just checked out your website, you play great. I still have along way to go but music is my life and I'll never stop.

  • That was awesome dude, keep it up!

  • Thank you, I checked out your site and it's great. I really liked your drumming, a good drummer is the hardest thing to find. I'm still looking for one. Keep it up. Mason

  • Thanks man, hope you find a drummer dude, if you got a Who Tribute band together that would be ace man! Rock on!

  • once again mason amazed, good work!

  • Thank you, as you can see I love The Who and Pete's my favorite guitar player. Mason
