@hawg427 Imo, which is probably correct, string tension doesn't depend on how many turns you've got on your post at all. There's just more secure metal to metal connection, with additional space for negotiating different tunings.
@TheSpearsProductions For what it's worth...SRV held his pick the same way. SRV said something about the rounded end not getting tangled up in the strings (as opposed to the sharper-angled tip) during the faster licks and passages he played...and since Anthony's style is heavily influenced by SRV, he probably did likewise...
@gr8bluesgtr lol what kind of winter are you having? I live in Minnesota and we had a brown Christmas. lol there hasn't been any snow for about a month.. we've only had light dusting so far. keeps melting. :/ great lesson BTW, as usual.
cool yet again anthony? could you take a look at some realllll fast licks and maybe that one I sent you via twitter a couple of weeks ago, the one that john mayer did, at that session with Derek Trucks and and john frusciante?? I would really love to learn any thing that fast very srv sounding...
Hi Anthony. I noticed that you leave a lot of string-wire on your tuners. I saw a video of Danny Gatton that he does the same. Do you this for all your strings? Am i hearing your Samamp and a TS9?
@romekdo77 I try to maintain about 3 complete turns of string. On the lower strings this is more important becuse it forces a sharper angle against the nut which provides a more solid anchor.
Very good blues lesson. Thanks!!!
