AHHH Man....This was a great time to be in D.C.....GoGo music was crankin at an all time high that year too. I was at this show in Oct of 87 and I tell you what, it was pure GOGO magic that night!!! There was no rap, no N.Y.....JUST DMV at the CAP!!! Redskins won the Superbowl 3mo later. F street in DC was packed every weekend....Douglas Records, Cavalier Store....Nothin better than coco city!!! Oh!!! And R.E. and Hot cold sweat cranked that night!!!!!!!

a lot of bands rock hard such as chuck, jy, air rayde, eu, n.e. groovers, back, and even a few of the young bands now BUT...essence is the greatest of all time. its hard to beat footz and mickey number one and with funk talkin, ned on bass, whiteboy, etc......wickedest bande alive.
