  • I have a friend who now has mental issues cuz of the slimming obsession she had for a long time... every time I hear this song I think of her and how well this must describe how she feels.

I wish all the best to people out there who have problems with their selfesteem and anorexia...

  • she sounds like lily allen lol XD

  • This has to be about Skulduggery Pleasant!

  • This so has to be about Skulduggery Pleasant

  • we did an english essay on it in english, personally i feel it must be a combination of all the different meanings that people have come up with as kate nash has mentioned all those different things when describing the song at different points! :)

  • KATE NASH FOR PRESIDENT ? AM I RIGHT AM RIGHT?

    Love you steve <3

  • @iPanikBr0 lol im starting to see your comments everywhere now its starting to creep me out

  • @HarneYinHD Kate Nash Fag.

  • Is this about Skulduggery Pleasant?

  • I am in LOVE with 2:15-3:27

  • were doing this for our church drama team sunday before halloween this year its going to be so good its about a girl who has cursing problem (her skeleton) and in the end she gets rid of her by the grace of God its going to be amazing!!!!!

  • i know she's been dealing with OCD for years so I view the skeleton as her OCD. i can relate to this.

  • Actually, she talked about this. This is about a real (fake) skeleton that Kate and her mom had in their living room. They would dress it up for holidays and such, and while they thought it was funny, I guess other people just thought it weird, hence the song. You can't make this crap up. I love her.

  • chiddy bang <3

  • She said this song was just about a girl with a skeleton toy. I googled for the meaning.

  • chiddy bang

  • maybe she's talking about her own skeleton inside her body

  • @iLoveKatiB or anorexia.....

  • CHIDDY BANG COVER!!!!

  • I think of Minecraft when I hear this song.. ^^ is that sad?

  • I love this song its on all my playlists!

  • Is it weird that an Anthropology course brought me here? Damn you Dr. Carr...

  • i can't even explain how much i love this song..

  • People keep saying this is about anorexia, but IMO it's fairly obvious that it's about an imaginary friend, a skeleton that wears clothes.

  • I'm still in Love with this song as much as I did 4 years ago <3

  • I want to marry. I don't care if im 17 and live in Canada. Its gonna happen.

  • I think this is about Anorexia. She's been dealing with it for years, trying to get rid of it now when she is 22, because when she goes out with friends or family, she is put in an awkward situation when she doesn't eat anything.. And at night she dreams of eating the most delicious foods, and getting over it (hence, shattering the skeletons head = Destroying or getting rid of the entire problem) And its her friend because it helps her look the way she wants, but it also causes her so much pain.

  • @SincerlyMexx

I think it really more refers to the phrase "skeleton in the closet". Which is more to say a secret or problem in general. So really it could mean quite a few things. That is just my interpretation :)

  • @SincerlyMexx She has OCD not anorexia..

  • @SincerlyMexx

She had an imaginary friend that was a skeleton when she was little because she had problems making friends. It's all about that and how she doesn't want to let go of her youth. But when I first heard it I had the same interpretation as you until I found an interview where she explains what it's actually about.

  • @SincerlyMexx no its about her friend that is anorexic but u were close

  • @SincerlyMexx You're right. I saw this woman live, she performed this song and said it was about "not being unhealthy to be happy."

  • @SincerlyMexx I always thought I was the only one who thought this! Most people seem to think it's about an imaginary friend.

  • @SincerlyMexx Is Kate Nash anorexic?

  • @SincerlyMexx Thats some creative shit

  • @SincerlyMexx its about a toy skeleton, well, thats what she said, why does everyone feel the need to look for a deeper meaning in things, songs, books, films .....

  • @OvenGloveAvenger Because there usually is a deeper meaning.

  • @OvenGloveAvenger So that when the song/movie/book ends you can find a new love for the said thing. And because 95% of the time there is...

  • @SincerlyMexx She said the song has nothing to do with anorexia

  • @SincerlyMexx I would totally agree...I'm recovering from an eating disorder and this song has been my anthem. Even if it's not about anorexia, it seems like it's about a similar type of problem. The thing you said about dreaming about food is pretty accurate...I constantly think about how delicious certain foods look and sometimes I just wanna stop it all and start eating like a normal person. Yeah, the "skeleton" is definitely an unhealthy friend, whether an eating disorder or otherwise.

  • HAH! This goes quite well with Sherlock. Thank ya, Tumblr!

  • Thank you Chiddy Bang for exposing me to this awesome song!

  • perfect emo song - every lyric

  • @onemoredayofmisery I think this is one of those songs that is whatever you interpret it to be. The lyrics are so ambiguous that it could be about a childhood friend or it could be about secrets or it could be about an eating disorder or it could be about pretty much anything else. It's all in the way you interpret it. ;) Personally, I interpret it to mean some sort of imaginary friend or stuffed animal or something that she has from childhood. But maybe that's just me, haha. XD

  • chiddy bang xD

  • chiddyyyyyyyyyy

  • She's actually singing about the saying 'skeletons in the closet'. Meaning secrets. I thought that was a cool bit of trivia. She definitely does it with style!

  • this song is perfect to listen while studying french :P

  • this reminds me of my best friendd <333

  • Haha looking at all the other comments, I don't think I was looking deep enough into this song. I genuinely thought she used to bring a skeleton out everywhere with her...

  • @otherFlawliet i didnt think this osng was deep i thought it was just a fun song......dannnnnnggggg

  • 40 people don't have a friend that is a skeleton

  • "Skeleton you are my friend and I could never bring a life to an end" <3

  • the 40 people who have disliked this, don't get this song <3

  • i like this song

  • My friend thinks Kate Nash should be a doctor because she names body parts in all of her songs XD

  • @91SonicRulez Its called health class, pretty common knowledge...

  • got this from a chiddy bang song

  • Who knows what this is about?

  • @mizztomato It's actually about her imaginary freind. At least that's what I heard. It really makes since if you think about it, she doesn't want to get rid of her imaginary friend even though it makes her look strange since she's 22. Listen to the whole song with that in mind and it sounds completely different. :P

  • I think this song is about how she has a plastic skeleton...but she loves it<3

  • haha this song is so funny :)

  • 39 people are stupid...maybe because they relate too much to this song.

  • I love it!!!

    It's so good!!!

    ;O)

  • LOVELOVELOVE this channel! Thank u! :)

  • I still think that this is her best song, until now!!

  • Check out Breakfast by Chiddy Bang if you like this song by Kate Nash. It's quality.

  • if you're gay, you could totally take this song about coming out/being gay in such a hateful society.

  • made my day!!! thanks downloadmusic .im

  • I love how I haven't heard this song in a year and I still can remember all the words!

  • Kate Nash is awesome! This is probably one of my favorite songs, all of her songs are so cheery. Well, most.

  • awesome love the violin in the beginging

  • Why is everyone talking about anorexia?

  • @argentinafriesz39 LOL@CHU there is no dancers in this, and the video is just a picture of her album cover. fail much?....

  • @SharksEatBratz i think its just spam :p

  • @ThePurpleSeaSponge yeah, i kinda realised that...

my point was, if your going to spam at least spam well :)

  • @SharksEatBratz hahaha fail spam ;) x

  • @SharksEatBratz

    Hahaah! Fail :P

  • You know, if you think of the skeleton as an actual human cadaver which she as a child discovered and kept the song kind of makes sense. However I do know about her doll Stanley ^___^.

  • i think its about a skeleton in the closet, and the way it interferes with her life but then she realizes that its a part o fher.

  • good thinking, using a hammer, as skeletons have DR/slashing

  • i think its about imaginary friends...?

  • anorexia clearly though she's not talking about herself because she's never had it :)

  • anorexia clearly though she's not talking about herself

  • I'm pretty sure it's about an imaginary friend:p

  • This Song Could Be About Her Best Friend Betraying Her by making fun of her in front of everyone and now she only views her friend as a skeleton of the person her friend used to be....?

  • i have NEVER noticed Kate Nash on the made of Bricks album cover 0__o

  • why did and ad for Poision come up? Her music is NOTHING like theirs.

  • 550,000th veiw. cool :)

  • More like Kate Gash!

  • love kate nash.

  • haha, am i the only one who thinks this song could be about an imaginary friend? seems legit, jussayin. :)

  • @rememberingsuunday No, I totally think it is. A lot of people are talking about anorexia, but I always thought it was about her literally being friends with her skeleton(obviously in her imagination).

  • @5025megan i know right! when she says things like "when we were young it was easy" and basically the chorus: "unwanted attention" "awkward position" "not letting go of you" so yeah it makes sense right? i don't think it's about anorexia at all

  • this is beautiful. i can really relate to it. my interpretation is that it's about having a weird friend. you are made weird by association, and even though you love them, you can't help but occasionally wonder what it would be like to not be friends with them and be called a freak. thanks.

  • If you've ever been anorexic, you can totally take this as a song about anorexia.

  • I love the ending :3

  • chiddy bang + kate nash = lifeeee

  • I love you Kate Nash!

muaha, your songs are my little life savers (:

  • Kate Nash = British Regina Spektor.

The random story like element and change of tone really reminds of Regina.

    Awesome.

  • the only reason i looked up this song was because of chiddy bang.. and now i love her!!!

  • Thank you lady Pendragon!!!

PS: I loooove howl's moving castle!!!!!!!

  • NASH NASH NASH! What a Nasher.

  • I think the song is about those friends who you can always rely on, they know you from deep inside and you can freely talk to them. Though, you realise when you grow older you are different people, totally different bodies. Kate realises though that time and experience spent together means more than a personality clash.. a good moral in the song!!

  • I really like this song(:

  • I am responsible for about 1000 of these views......

  • God, I love Kate Nash. ♥

  • I love my skeleton!

  • 2:13

  • 35 people are dumb

  • The "skeleton in her closet."

  • i bet someone is reading this right now

  • @Madizonz

    Fucking Genius !!

  • @Madizonz *facepalm*

  • im trying to find the metaphore for this song-but im starting to actually believe that she is indeed friends with a REAL skeleton :\ is it possible? yes, yes it is.

  • I actually like her a lot, only reason i know her is because of chiddy bang, so thanks chiddy

  • whoa, after searching the lyrics ive concluded there is no way this is about an anorexic friend lol. I know the first thing to assume is because its about a skeleton it is about anorexia, but the lyrics seriously seem to have nothing to do with that sort of thing. But whatever, theres always different interpretations.

  • love love love this sing

  • skeleton in the closet?

  • no, i'm pretty sure it's about anorexia.

  • Everytime im upset and feeling blue (usually at school), I close my eyes and picture myself somewhere else, and start singing this song......It usually cheers me up. weird i know...

  • @MaryhadaLtmb123

No, I know what you mean. The reason that Kate Nash is my favorite singer is because her songs just make me feel happier. Even her sad ones!

  • @5025megan yeah. her songs just have this weird power that make me forget my problems and just chill....

  • omg i love this song! :)

  • lol every time i hear this i think of me of a Montage hanging out and doing stuff with it, but on 2:28 I think of me and some other guy fighting over the skeleton and taking it away from and me crying as he walks away with it , then around 3:26 acts like it was all a dream. then things get happy again

  • This song reminds me of my friend who died a few months ago :*(

Lovely song, she loved this song!

    RIP!..

  • I love in the higest comments its all serious then below that it says "british accents are hot" hahaha that made my day :D

  • @MooCow357 As a Southern-England toff, I am obliged to hate Nash's accent. To be fair she's fine until she starts dropping Ts. I can't stand it when people sing and it's harder not to say the T but they still drop it. Whyyy.

  • @Schemilix Do you mean when you don't pronouncte T's properly?.....

    I do that :)

  • @mizztomato It's just lazy and it gets on my nerves. Obviously some words it's natural to avoid the T but. Eh.

  • @Schemilix Sorry D:

For me its not lazy its natural, I grew up around people who dropped their T's so I did too

  • @MooCow357

    haha I love your name!

  • I have this album, the first song is: PLAY; I skip it all the way to This song though, i just love it so much.|

  • I Thought it was about anorexia?

  • @MasterKaii me too^^

    maybe both?

  • @Snippett95

Possibly haha doesn't actually state anywhere haha i have looked.

perhaps its what you want it to be about???

  • @MasterKaii that can never be wrong XD but does it matter? it´s a great song and you don´t really NEED to know what exactly it´s about, right?

  • i thought xaphoon did that drum loop but he sampled it no. my respect has gone a wee bit, but not too much. chiddy bang fucking rock, can't wait till sept 13 .

  • @gavinjamesaitken1 Haha right I thought tha same thing

  • love the accent(:

  • this song is insanley creepy and it scares me...i love it.

  • Chiddy Bang!

  • @eric37428 ye Air Swell :D

  • I love this song I'm gonna make a video singing this!!!!

  • chiddy bang sampled this in their song called "breakfast"; look it up!!! :DD

  • This song is not about anorexia, or imaginary friends.

It is about boners, because that's what i get when i listen to it.

  • This Song makes me want to dance you go Kate Nash!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this ahah :)

  • Hahahaha, this song makes me happy :)

  • mockney

  • I had a totally different interpretation of this song.

  • hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhaahhaha this sonng is soo weird! I LIKE IT! hahahaha

  • Chiddy Bang ftw!

  • luv katie nash xx

  • this song actually reflects my life.

  • I adore this song. :]

  • way better than lily allen, katy perry, whatever, you know they look alike

  • Oh, I thought it was about having a best friend since she was a little kid and when she's grown up her friend is anorexic but she still wants to be friends even though when she goes out people stare (cuz her friends anorexic) etc. Idk, just what I thought by listening to the words.

  • I think she's actually talking about killing her self, it sounds like it!

  • amazing song. just amazing. i love her accent too :]

  • this song is soo Kate Nash.....love her! x

  • I really love how there are so many interpretations of this song! I don't think it matters what the 'real' one is, it's just great that it speaks to so many people in so many different ways!

  • @polofreek123 i know right!! i hate how people always argue over the meaning of a song! i mean as long as you enjoy the song, does it really matter?

  • it's pretty obvious, this song means different things to different people. i think this is about how she's an adult now and that she needs to let go of the child in her, the awkwardness and uncertainty etc...

she wants to get rid of it because it still affects her adult life. just wants to break all ties to youth. I think the skeleton represents childhood, and the song is about having to grow up and break away from that.

  • wunderschön! Kate Nash ist die größte

  • chiddy bang- breakfast

  • @DewTheDansing This song is great, but mixed with Chiddy's rhymes it is amazing.
