@Ballet4Everz actually no, the reason they named the person Darcy is because of the book "Bridget Jones Diary" helen fielding. The reason helen fielding named the character Darcy was because of a not so subtle hint telling us that the plotline was based on the plotline in Pride and Prejudice. The reason Colin Firth got the part of Mark Darcy was a)hes good b) they thought it would be funny if the same actor as Pride and Prejudice played the guy with the same name in Bridget Jones. I LOVE BRIDGET

I love how timeless Jane Austen's work really is - and how people love Bridget Jones' Dairy and Clueless without even realising they are adaptations of Sense and Sensibility and Emma, written 200 years ago. :)
