  • I still return to watch, enjoy, appreciate this great video and tribute. Thanks, so much, Valerie!

  • So refreshing to hear music with a melody and great vocals!

  • Months later, my appreciation to Valerie has grown, along with appreciation for Froman and the realization that it will be the contributions of Valerie - and others on YouTube - who will perpetuate the history of America's greatest popular music.

    Thank you, once again!

  • To expand upon my earlier comment, I want to extend appreciation to Valerie for making this splendid tribute to Jane Froman - highly deserved as it is, and highly valued by me, as it is - for her own wonderful talent as she brings this great music to new generations!

  • I thought, from the still photo. that this would be an audio presentation from Valerie's CD (which I own, and enjoy!) - didn't watch it until tonight. I think the Froman/Lemon connection is fascinating. I appreciate this video of Valerie's live performance - very very much. Thank you!

  • I love you Aunt valrie!

    Miss you!!

  • Beautiful Valerie! I hope to see you perform live soon!

  • Well she is my aunt Valrie Love you <3 ur the best

  • gatverdamme

  • my god val - you are more beautiful than ever! i just gotta love you, xoxo tom

  • This video might do in a pinch, but you can still tell it is not either Jane Froman or Susan Hayward who she definately resembled. Sorry to have lost her...she was good and a very gutsy lady I must say...we should have more it them in this country. USA

  • It was such a pleasure to watch Val work - the show is excellent! The music is woven perfectly throughout the stories of Jane's life. The material is effective on so many levels -- an equal balance of humor and pathos.

Val performs this piece with such ease and such joy, all I can say is that Jane Froman knew what she was doing when she revealed herself to Val in her "drug-enhanced slumber". Don't miss it!!!

  • Valerie Lemon's musical portrait of Jane Froman's life is a must see for anyone interested in music or history.

The songs are gorgeous and the story of Ms Froman's courageous life is an inspiration to us all. Valerie Lemon is a gifted artist who transports the audience to a magical place. It's truly a marvelous evening at the theater.

  • Froman lives - for an hour or two anyway. But you don't have to be a WWII or tin pan alley nostalgist to like this show. Great songs well sung - the story is just a wonderful excuse to hear them again. Have been in the audience twice and would go again - as many have.

  • i have seen valerie perform several times.i find her an engaging vocalist with wonderful interpretive skills.i look forward to seeing her again .

  • Val is a true Star. Beautiful inside and out! Shari

  • Though every person is entitled to their own opinions, it's not difficult to see how talented Valerie Lemon is as a performer. Not only was she professionally trained in opera, but she toured with Marvin Hamlisch for 12 years. She has a voice of an angel, and gives herself so completely to her audiences with passion, love, and beauty.

I'd love to see Valerie perform more often rather than sit in front of a computer screen all week and critique on youtube videos for a living.

  • Dear Valerie, Maggie from Australia sent me your utube video. Little did she know that the story of Jane Froman was one of my favorite movies. I saw it first as a child. You are a lovely lady and have a beautiful voice. I know you will do well. God bless you.

  • I was lucky enough to have known Jane Froman and heard her sing many times. I have also seen Valerie Lemon's show. It is carefully written and sung, not as an attempt to imitate Jane Froman, but to revive an interest in the singer's spirit and her music. The show is lovingly performed. What better way is there for someone to honor a hero than to use her talents to do so?

  • You're never too young or too old to appreciate the very gifted Valerie Lemon's tribute to Jane Froman. I had the pleasure of hearing Valerie perform in NYC and was transported to another time. Her performance was heartfelt and so respectful to Jane and to the music of The Great American Songbook. I cannot wait to hear her perform again. Bravo, Encore!

  • I fell in love with Jane Froman's voice more than 40 years ago, she was an always will be an inspiration to me. For me Valerie Lemon's beautiful tribute to Ms Froman is outstanding, bringing to life and recognition once again one of the world's most beautiful songstress. Well done Ms Lemon, you are to be congratulated for a magnificent job. You have the most beautiful voice.

  • I sent in a comment half an hour ago but it hasn't appeared.

I hate to do it again just to have it disappear.

  • I would never have realized how many excellent songs from the Great American Songbook Jane Froman popularized had I not seen Valerie Lemon's wonderful, loving tribute to this great artist in New York City. Valerie makes all the songs her own with her expressive, mellifluous voice. Her renditions are achingly honest and she pours herself into every note she sings. Valerie imbues her performance with the kind of grace and elegance that typified Ms. Froman. Bravo!

  • I'm too young to have heard Jane, but if she sounds like Valerie, then they are both fantastic! Count me in for the Centennial show in November.

  • There is nothing like seeing Valerie's live performance as she brings us back to an era long forgotten where music and song were magical and romantic. Valerie's passion seaps out from every pour of her body as she honors the life of Jane Froman. I hope many will come see Valerie's beautiful show wherever she goes across the USA as she celebrates Jane's Centennial in song.

  • Not having had the privilege of seeing Jane Froman in person, it was a joy to see and hear Valerie Lemon's tribute in St. Louis a couple years ago. I could imagine I was at one of Ms. Froman's performances! And I look forward to seeing Ms. Lemon again at the Jane Froman Centennial in Columbia, MO, November 9-11, 2007

  • Valerie Lemon sings Froman with depth and passion. It's grand listening to her !

  • I had the pleasure of seeing Val Lemon perform in NYC -- I've been a Jane Froman fan for over 50 years, and I was delighted with her tribute. Their voices are not in the same range, but Ms. Lemon has a beautiful voice, a wonderful stage presence, and looks -- at times -- startling like Jane Froman. The arrangements were marvelous, her telling of Jane's story charming. In short, I know Jane would be pleased at this tribute.

  • Don't mean to be cruel, but this is very painful singing. I have to immediately hear the real Jane Froman to wipe out this terrible sound!

  • It is not a terrible sound greenstboy, but there is no comparison to the real Jane Froman whose talent, beauty, grace, courage and character is unmatched.

  • I don't mean to be cruel either but greenstboy is either deaf or a moron. Miss Lemon is one of the best singers in cabaret or any other medium singing today! Her sound is frankly gorgeous!

  • Ms. Lemon has a lovely voice, but hardly the best in cabaret or any other medium today.

  • Ms. Lemon has a beautiful voice and the tribute she pays to a great and talented lady, Jane Froman, is elegant. I was a friend of Ms. Froman's 50 years ago, and Ms. Lemon does Jane Froman proud. A "must have" for lovers of the great American songbook.
