@geezer6970 You can say what you want about Christianity, act like you know so much and criticize all you want. The fact of the matter is that you're wrong on so many levels. I'd like to see you ask Brian Wilson if he has become a better man since accepting Christ. I'd like you to ask him what Christ has done for him now that he has come to him. @CCredwing37 You're totally right. Ignorance is knowing your beliefs before actually committing to them. You're so smart. And it is just an act. @geezer6970 I did not get angry, rather annoyed. It's pointless to argue with someone who is so blind, and talks a big game though actually knows very little. @geezer6970 It's not a sin to do drink, party or go to clubs and have a good time. Strip clubs on the other hand..Idk. And I agree, that is how 90% maybe even more look at Christianity and I also know how it makes Christians look. Unfortunately most of our society has opted to taking the easy way out of pretty much everything in life. Brian Wilson on the other hand I do not believe took the "easy way out" he simply followed what his heart was telling him.
@CCredwing37 "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord."
"And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit."

@geezer6970 if ur a warriors fan then why do u hate the celtics (just wondering) and not living for God would be the easy way out, how else do u better ur life here other than living by the principles that God gives us (praying for people, helping and loving other people, not committing crimes) ... what else is there that has a greater impact on other people not to mention ur own character
@ejdubb115 I don't hate the Celtics, I just dislike them. They're quite hypocritical about the big three thing when they started it. Those principles are not given to you from God, they're man made. Despite what every holy book says, there is good in the human race. How is sitting back and saying that God will take care of everything not the easy way out? Yes, there are some stupid Atheists who simply say that God isn't real without research, but for those of us who do it really isn't that easy.
@geezer6970 i don't think u know a lot about Christianity. the BIBLE doesn't say that theres no good in the human race. there is a Biblical analogy that says "if u pray for rain for your crops then dont just sit there, go and plant the seed and prepare for harvest", so despite what you think, we don't just spray and pray our problems away (no pun intended) . you might think some of those things u said because of some Christians who dont keep up with their beliefs
@ejdubb115 I do know a lot about christianity. I was raised Christian and Catholic. You're analogy is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with the human race being good. Yes, you can try and spread the word of God and maybe consider that work, but it has nothing to do with the human race being good. Actually, it's the exact opposite. People have to work to get into heaven because they're not good enough already. Of course, this is contradicted by the belief that we can all be saved on our deathbed.
@geezer6970 my analogy isn't about the human race being good, its about how Christians don't just sit around letting God take care of everything without effort. and it doesn't sound like you were raised as a Christian cuz we don't believe that you have to work to get into heaven (thats a Catholic belief) so that takes care of that contradiction. based off of what you said, you do not know a lot about Christianity when you are being a "true Christian" (i dont know how to phrase that any better)
@ejdubb115 Hahahaha! You can make all of the false assumptions you want. The fact of the matter is that your analogy had no relevance to the topic at hand. You just tried changing subjects. A lot of the bible has been proven wrong on many occasions. All of Christianity (That means Catholics as well) is based off of that being the true word of God, yet how can he be wrong? You can argue all you want, but that is enough information to debunk Christianity.
@geezer6970 How did i change the subject by talking about something that YOU said in a previous comment? how is the fact that you are misinformed about the state of Christianity a false assumption? what part of the Bible has been proven wrong? and what was the name of the church that you used to go to and how faithful were you (just wondering)
@ejdubb115 It's really strange. When you talk about one thing, and then just randomly jump to another, that's called changing topics. Hahahaha. And I guess most of the bible is correct, we're planning on strapping rockets to the sun to make sure it revolves around the Earth. (Psalms 93:1) Ooo! And I'm pretty sure it's alright to stone your wife or sell your daughter into slavery! (Deuteronomy 22:23-24) & (Exodus 21:7-11). Let's not forget it's ok to rape during war! (Zechariah 14:2)
@geezer6970 Really? Lol. Not one of your explanations of those verses was close to what it actually said.....and I would love to see a source cited where the Bible was proven wrong.
@Amo088 Wow...just wow. At least ejdubb tries. And did you actually read the verses, or are you just assuming? Please, leave the talking to the adults who actually research their information.
Jehovah reigns, He is clothed with majesty; Jehovah is clothed with strength. He clothed Himself and the world is established; it shall not be shaken.
now, maybe Im missing it, but I didnt see anything about rockets.
@Amo088 My bible adds that "the world is established firm and secure." Now this is the most iffy of all of the verses I showed because it could be interpreted in many ways. One of the most common ways is that saying that he established the world to be stationary.
@geezer6970 Youre right. He did establish the Earth to be stationary. Meaning that it cannot be shaken or moved out of the pattern he has put it in. Basically this is flexing Gods muscles and saying Look, I created everything and nothing can change it. It doesnt literally mean the Earth doesnt move. As for the Old testament. That verse is referring to Old Testament LAW. Thats what I meant. The Law provided in the Old Testament has been replaced with the work of Jesus in the New Testament
@geezer6970 the key words there are "The Church". Thats a very relative term. Just because a church exists does not mean the hearts of those who belong to it belong to God truly. The Bible constantly warns of fake believers. Jesus did say He would establish a Church through Peter, but just like the pharisees who became incredibly proud and hard hearted and against everything God desired, so the church is vulnerable to the same. Just because its the church doesnt make it perfect.
@Amo088 Very true, but the Church made up things for the bible, took things out of the bible, and so on and so forth for so long that it seems ridiculous to claim that the bible is all true and that the Church can be (and in a lot of cases is) corrupt. The bible has good messages to live by, and is all around a very good collection of books, but believing every word of it is ridiculous. It's like saying that Aesop's fables were true stories.
@geezer6970 thats not to say you cant enjoy life and American prosperity, but if you make that your focus in life and thats what you live for then you'll be judged accordingly. ponder this as well. if you say theres no such thing as absolute truth, you just contradicted yourself because that statement itself is a statement of absolute truth. Jesus says I am the way, the truth, and the life, and noone comes to the Father but through me. Absolute truth. its totally worth it. Jesus promises so.
@Amo088 No. That is some of the most flawed logic I've ever heard. We do not know everything through science so far, but we know enough to disprove most religions and past beliefs. Yes, we cannot disprove God because there is no way too. There's also no way to confirm his existence either. It's like believing that there is a flying unicorn billions of light years away controlling our every move. It can't be disproven or proven, no matter how ridiculous it sounds.
@geezer6970 slightly confused. Im going with what people say? not sure what that means. But what this always comes down to is faith, like you said. Thats the point. If God was present it wouldnt be hard and we wouldnt really have the free will to choose Him. and Christian translates into "little Christ", which is what Christianity is. Becoming disciples of Christ. Jesus gives us 2 options. Either you accept that He is who HE CLAIMS he is, or you reject Him as a liar. You dont claim...
@geezer6970 to be the Son of God and do what He did for fun. Either you accept it, or you flat out reject that what He said was true and go your own way. Theres no middle ground. Jesus didnt claim to be a good teacher. If you really study what He said its freakin outrageous, because He demands absolute surrender of your life, which if you think about it isnt your life to begin with because you didnt create yourself. Jesus claims to be God's son, and its up to us to decide on a response.
@Amo088 i hate to add a cliche statement, but Jesus isnt a religion. Its a relationship. Through prayer and faith. and its AWESOME. sorry to sort of spam the comments with all this, but i figured Id leave it public so anyone could jump in...
" If a girl who is a virgin is engaged to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,
Deu 22:24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them with stones that they die; the girl because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. So you shall put away evil from among you. "
This is Old Testament law which pertains to? The old testament. NOT today.
@geezer6970 continued from below- Romans 8 does a solid job explaining the relation of the Old Testament Law to the work of Jesus. But as for Human Trafficking. I admit theres things in the Old Testament that seem harsh and make us uncomfortable, but you have to take whats written in context with the time it was written and the situation at hand. If you read it in the New Living Translation it actually makes a ton more sense.
@Amo088 I think the most sense would come from reading the original books. But they've been retranslated and retranslated, then had books ommited, than really translated again, and so on and so forth. It's basically the world's longest game of telephone.
@geezer6970 and I agree that the Bible is incredibly removed from its original text, but for me I just have to go on the trust I place in the scholars who devote their entire lives to reading the original texts, which the dead sea scrolls provide us with incredible resources for the original texts. Ultimately it comes down to faith that the Bible is what it says it is, which faith is just being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see.
@geezer6970 ...andsays that the world will hate whoever believes because of Him. He says seek first the kingdom of heaven, and says if you try to save your life, meaning have a good, rich, easy, entertained, american dream life on Earth, you will lose it ultimately in eternity because you didnt make God your priority. But if you give up your life for Jesus' sake you will find it. Its an extremely high call, but He also says my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Its way too much to explain here
@Amo088 I agree with one thing, that it requires a lot more to explain than a youtube comment section. Haha. It's strange that based off of your response, you're going with what people say over God. And the ironic thing is, that is a bigger leap of faith than any religion.
@geezer6970 about the what people say thing. never mind I think I know what you mean...that I believe what scholars tell me. My faith in the Bible is based on 2 Timothy 3:16. The biblical scholars simply reinforce that notion by proving it historically accurate, comparing it to the dead sea scrolls etc.
@geezer6970 so to clarify- The old testament LAW is what doesnt pertain to our lives today. It does serve as an example of how humans can never be justified or holy before God through their own works. The old testament itself is of absolute importance though. If you look at how many prophecies there are in the OT that are fulfilled in the NT its actually pretty incredible, especially considering how old the OT was when Jesus was on Earth.
@Amo088 The fact of the matter is that God approved of all of this going on. Does God just change his mind? And the writing was in regards to Israelites going into heathen areas, not them falling.
@geezer6970 and heres my thing. Jesus walked straight into the Jews capital and claimed he was God. I mean, what did He gain if he was lying? Either He is exactly who He says He was and did what he said he was gonna do, which is make everyone who believes right before God, or he was just absolutely insane. Jesus is the only "religion" or whatever in History that doesnt exist to bring you happiness in life or promise you wealth or an easy life. He promises salvation for those who believe...
@Amo088 There were a lot of things Jesus gained from doing what he did. And I'm pretty sure that Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, etc. are all afterlife (including reincarnation) based. Plus, I've never heard of the religion of Jesus. Haha
I dont have enough characters to fully explain this, but I can see how it looks like a permit to sell your daughter into slavery. What it means is really poor families at the time could sell their daughter to be a SERVANT in a righteous mans house, HOPING that when she became of age he would like her and marry her, thus helping the whole family, and if not then she would be free with no strings attached.
@geezer6970 "Hahahaha" ... your right that is funny, because you don't seem to understand the fact that all my subjects have been replies to a post that you put up Ooo! I'm very sure that you misinterpreted Psalms by GREAT proportions. Stone your wife if she's adulterous (don't forget this a couple thousand years ago) Sell your daughter into marriage (sounds a lot like an arranged marriage doesn't it) God isn't condoning rape, those verses were prophecies of what was going to happen 2 Jerusalem
@geezer6970 well, im flattered that you said i tried at all, but your right, i didn't try that time, i only used my previously obtained knowledge and i little refreshing research. plus, it was early in the morning and i was late ... BUT it sounded like you just changed subjects to avoid the topic at hand! its ok you bringing up that "statement", drew my attention to the comment which states that you are an adult i cant drive, get an official job, or marry and yet you thought i try (ur so sweet)
@ejdubb115 Haha. I was referring to having a more grown-up mentality. AMO88 is actually doing a better job of debating now (although he doesn't really present any sound arguments). Ok, that verse is different in every translation. See my explanation earlier. You're fine with arranged marriage? And the entire bible happened over a thousand years ago! And yes, God is condoning rape because he's saying that it's ok as long as it's the enemy.
@geezer6970 and the rape thing- God never said "it is ok to rape because I am doing it". He is telling Israel what is going to happen to them if they didnt repent. The other nations on Earth would overwhelm them due to God taking his protection away.
@geezer6970 so are you a child? what does the statement "And the entire bible happened over a thousand years ago!" refer to? and no God is not condoning rape, he is saying that the Jews better wide their wives, hide their kids, wide their husbands, cuz da enemy is about to rape everyone up in here. so in more serious words, "Even though i don't condone rape, i gave Man free will and I see that your enemies will decide to neglect my commands and pillage you country without mercy" - God (roughly)
@ejdubb115 Although I don't agree with most of what you say, I will tell you that that was pretty freakin hilarious. I'm not a child and the 1,000 years thing is in regards to it being the world's longest game of telephone.
@geezer6970 that is a good point about the 1,000 years thing, but even you said that the Bible was written back when those events were transpiring, so the facts are documented by the Bible (collectively of course) and other historians such as Josephus ect.. Although im sure there have been some miss communication through the many translations, the Bible was set and i believe its pretty accurate to the original writings.
@geezer6970 do you just assume all Christians are the same? that they're all confused and jump the band wagon because people always tell them it's the right thing to do? you made a choice to not follow Christ, and Christians made theirs. instead of blatantly calling Christians confused and what not, rather just respect them for what choices they make. like i said, not everyone's the same. but a lot of them seek positivity in their lives through Christ. that shouldn't be considered a flaw.
@geezer6970 ...I understand your point, all too well, actually. Not just "spewing" quotes. Just seemed to fit, i suppose. I'm not disagreeing with you. People SHOULD research and make an informed choice. It's all good, my friend.
@1028posse It's nice to see that people are more intelligent about religion. Most people do it just because of they're family/friends. At least you know what you're talking about.
Awesome! Thank you so much for posting this! I have always wanted to hear what the players have to say on Fellowship Days! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Cmon guys why are we arguing? If anything why are non-believers coming on and start making fun of Christians.

@geezer6970 i don't think u know a lot about Christianity. the BIBLE doesn't say that theres no good in the human race. there is a Biblical analogy that says "if u pray for rain for your crops then dont just sit there, go and plant the seed and prepare for harvest", so despite what you think, we don't just spray and pray our problems away (no pun intended) . you might think some of those things u said because of some Christians who dont keep up with their beliefs
ejdubb115 1 year ago
@ejdubb115 I do know a lot about christianity. I was raised Christian and Catholic. You're analogy is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with the human race being good. Yes, you can try and spread the word of God and maybe consider that work, but it has nothing to do with the human race being good. Actually, it's the exact opposite. People have to work to get into heaven because they're not good enough already. Of course, this is contradicted by the belief that we can all be saved on our deathbed.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 my analogy isn't about the human race being good, its about how Christians don't just sit around letting God take care of everything without effort. and it doesn't sound like you were raised as a Christian cuz we don't believe that you have to work to get into heaven (thats a Catholic belief) so that takes care of that contradiction. based off of what you said, you do not know a lot about Christianity when you are being a "true Christian" (i dont know how to phrase that any better)
ejdubb115 1 year ago
@ejdubb115 Hahahaha! You can make all of the false assumptions you want. The fact of the matter is that your analogy had no relevance to the topic at hand. You just tried changing subjects. A lot of the bible has been proven wrong on many occasions. All of Christianity (That means Catholics as well) is based off of that being the true word of God, yet how can he be wrong? You can argue all you want, but that is enough information to debunk Christianity.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 How did i change the subject by talking about something that YOU said in a previous comment? how is the fact that you are misinformed about the state of Christianity a false assumption? what part of the Bible has been proven wrong? and what was the name of the church that you used to go to and how faithful were you (just wondering)
ejdubb115 1 year ago
@ejdubb115 It's really strange. When you talk about one thing, and then just randomly jump to another, that's called changing topics. Hahahaha. And I guess most of the bible is correct, we're planning on strapping rockets to the sun to make sure it revolves around the Earth. (Psalms 93:1) Ooo! And I'm pretty sure it's alright to stone your wife or sell your daughter into slavery! (Deuteronomy 22:23-24) & (Exodus 21:7-11). Let's not forget it's ok to rape during war! (Zechariah 14:2)
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 Really? Lol. Not one of your explanations of those verses was close to what it actually said.....and I would love to see a source cited where the Bible was proven wrong.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 Wow...just wow. At least ejdubb tries. And did you actually read the verses, or are you just assuming? Please, leave the talking to the adults who actually research their information.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 ok lol. lets look at your verses.
first-psalms 93:1
Jehovah reigns, He is clothed with majesty; Jehovah is clothed with strength. He clothed Himself and the world is established; it shall not be shaken.
now, maybe Im missing it, but I didnt see anything about rockets.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 My bible adds that "the world is established firm and secure." Now this is the most iffy of all of the verses I showed because it could be interpreted in many ways. One of the most common ways is that saying that he established the world to be stationary.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 Youre right. He did establish the Earth to be stationary. Meaning that it cannot be shaken or moved out of the pattern he has put it in. Basically this is flexing Gods muscles and saying Look, I created everything and nothing can change it. It doesnt literally mean the Earth doesnt move. As for the Old testament. That verse is referring to Old Testament LAW. Thats what I meant. The Law provided in the Old Testament has been replaced with the work of Jesus in the New Testament
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 This is left open for interpretation. And in regards to what the Church thinks, why was it that Galileo was put under house arrest?
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 the key words there are "The Church". Thats a very relative term. Just because a church exists does not mean the hearts of those who belong to it belong to God truly. The Bible constantly warns of fake believers. Jesus did say He would establish a Church through Peter, but just like the pharisees who became incredibly proud and hard hearted and against everything God desired, so the church is vulnerable to the same. Just because its the church doesnt make it perfect.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 Very true, but the Church made up things for the bible, took things out of the bible, and so on and so forth for so long that it seems ridiculous to claim that the bible is all true and that the Church can be (and in a lot of cases is) corrupt. The bible has good messages to live by, and is all around a very good collection of books, but believing every word of it is ridiculous. It's like saying that Aesop's fables were true stories.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 thats not to say you cant enjoy life and American prosperity, but if you make that your focus in life and thats what you live for then you'll be judged accordingly. ponder this as well. if you say theres no such thing as absolute truth, you just contradicted yourself because that statement itself is a statement of absolute truth. Jesus says I am the way, the truth, and the life, and noone comes to the Father but through me. Absolute truth. its totally worth it. Jesus promises so.
Amo088 1 year ago
It can't be disproven or proven, no matter how ridiculous it sounds.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 slightly confused. Im going with what people say? not sure what that means. But what this always comes down to is faith, like you said. Thats the point. If God was present it wouldnt be hard and we wouldnt really have the free will to choose Him. and Christian translates into "little Christ", which is what Christianity is. Becoming disciples of Christ. Jesus gives us 2 options. Either you accept that He is who HE CLAIMS he is, or you reject Him as a liar. You dont claim...
Amo088 1 year ago
@geezer6970 to be the Son of God and do what He did for fun. Either you accept it, or you flat out reject that what He said was true and go your own way. Theres no middle ground. Jesus didnt claim to be a good teacher. If you really study what He said its freakin outrageous, because He demands absolute surrender of your life, which if you think about it isnt your life to begin with because you didnt create yourself. Jesus claims to be God's son, and its up to us to decide on a response.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 i hate to add a cliche statement, but Jesus isnt a religion. Its a relationship. Through prayer and faith. and its AWESOME. sorry to sort of spam the comments with all this, but i figured Id leave it public so anyone could jump in...
Amo088 1 year ago
@geezer6970 secondly-
Deuteronomy 22: 23-24
" If a girl who is a virgin is engaged to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,
Deu 22:24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them with stones that they die; the girl because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. So you shall put away evil from among you. "
This is Old Testament law which pertains to? The old testament. NOT today.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 If the old testament doesn't matter anymore, than why is creation such a touchy subject?
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 continued from below- Romans 8 does a solid job explaining the relation of the Old Testament Law to the work of Jesus. But as for Human Trafficking. I admit theres things in the Old Testament that seem harsh and make us uncomfortable, but you have to take whats written in context with the time it was written and the situation at hand. If you read it in the New Living Translation it actually makes a ton more sense.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 I think the most sense would come from reading the original books. But they've been retranslated and retranslated, then had books ommited, than really translated again, and so on and so forth. It's basically the world's longest game of telephone.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 and I agree that the Bible is incredibly removed from its original text, but for me I just have to go on the trust I place in the scholars who devote their entire lives to reading the original texts, which the dead sea scrolls provide us with incredible resources for the original texts. Ultimately it comes down to faith that the Bible is what it says it is, which faith is just being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see.
Amo088 1 year ago
@geezer6970 ...andsays that the world will hate whoever believes because of Him. He says seek first the kingdom of heaven, and says if you try to save your life, meaning have a good, rich, easy, entertained, american dream life on Earth, you will lose it ultimately in eternity because you didnt make God your priority. But if you give up your life for Jesus' sake you will find it. Its an extremely high call, but He also says my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Its way too much to explain here
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 I agree with one thing, that it requires a lot more to explain than a youtube comment section. Haha. It's strange that based off of your response, you're going with what people say over God. And the ironic thing is, that is a bigger leap of faith than any religion.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 about the what people say thing. never mind I think I know what you mean...that I believe what scholars tell me. My faith in the Bible is based on 2 Timothy 3:16. The biblical scholars simply reinforce that notion by proving it historically accurate, comparing it to the dead sea scrolls etc.
Amo088 1 year ago
@geezer6970 so to clarify- The old testament LAW is what doesnt pertain to our lives today. It does serve as an example of how humans can never be justified or holy before God through their own works. The old testament itself is of absolute importance though. If you look at how many prophecies there are in the OT that are fulfilled in the NT its actually pretty incredible, especially considering how old the OT was when Jesus was on Earth.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 The fact of the matter is that God approved of all of this going on. Does God just change his mind? And the writing was in regards to Israelites going into heathen areas, not them falling.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 and heres my thing. Jesus walked straight into the Jews capital and claimed he was God. I mean, what did He gain if he was lying? Either He is exactly who He says He was and did what he said he was gonna do, which is make everyone who believes right before God, or he was just absolutely insane. Jesus is the only "religion" or whatever in History that doesnt exist to bring you happiness in life or promise you wealth or an easy life. He promises salvation for those who believe...
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 There were a lot of things Jesus gained from doing what he did. And I'm pretty sure that Judaism, Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, etc. are all afterlife (including reincarnation) based. Plus, I've never heard of the religion of Jesus. Haha
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 and lastly-
Exodus 21:7-11
I dont have enough characters to fully explain this, but I can see how it looks like a permit to sell your daughter into slavery. What it means is really poor families at the time could sell their daughter to be a SERVANT in a righteous mans house, HOPING that when she became of age he would like her and marry her, thus helping the whole family, and if not then she would be free with no strings attached.
Amo088 1 year ago
@Amo088 So, you're fine with human trafficking? Some things you just can't make sound good.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 "Hahahaha" ... your right that is funny, because you don't seem to understand the fact that all my subjects have been replies to a post that you put up Ooo! I'm very sure that you misinterpreted Psalms by GREAT proportions. Stone your wife if she's adulterous (don't forget this a couple thousand years ago) Sell your daughter into marriage (sounds a lot like an arranged marriage doesn't it) God isn't condoning rape, those verses were prophecies of what was going to happen 2 Jerusalem
ejdubb115 1 year ago
@ejdubb115 I retract my statement that ejdubb tries.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 well, im flattered that you said i tried at all, but your right, i didn't try that time, i only used my previously obtained knowledge and i little refreshing research. plus, it was early in the morning and i was late ... BUT it sounded like you just changed subjects to avoid the topic at hand! its ok you bringing up that "statement", drew my attention to the comment which states that you are an adult i cant drive, get an official job, or marry and yet you thought i try (ur so sweet)
ejdubb115 1 year ago
@ejdubb115 Haha. I was referring to having a more grown-up mentality. AMO88 is actually doing a better job of debating now (although he doesn't really present any sound arguments). Ok, that verse is different in every translation. See my explanation earlier. You're fine with arranged marriage? And the entire bible happened over a thousand years ago! And yes, God is condoning rape because he's saying that it's ok as long as it's the enemy.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 and the rape thing- God never said "it is ok to rape because I am doing it". He is telling Israel what is going to happen to them if they didnt repent. The other nations on Earth would overwhelm them due to God taking his protection away.
Amo088 1 year ago
@geezer6970 so are you a child? what does the statement "And the entire bible happened over a thousand years ago!" refer to? and no God is not condoning rape, he is saying that the Jews better wide their wives, hide their kids, wide their husbands, cuz da enemy is about to rape everyone up in here. so in more serious words, "Even though i don't condone rape, i gave Man free will and I see that your enemies will decide to neglect my commands and pillage you country without mercy" - God (roughly)
ejdubb115 1 year ago
@ejdubb115 Although I don't agree with most of what you say, I will tell you that that was pretty freakin hilarious. I'm not a child and the 1,000 years thing is in regards to it being the world's longest game of telephone.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 that is a good point about the 1,000 years thing, but even you said that the Bible was written back when those events were transpiring, so the facts are documented by the Bible (collectively of course) and other historians such as Josephus ect.. Although im sure there have been some miss communication through the many translations, the Bible was set and i believe its pretty accurate to the original writings.
ejdubb115 1 year ago
And to my knowledge of Christianity, you'll have to take that up with the bible itself and every preacher I've ever known.
geezer6970 1 year ago
@geezer6970 do you just assume all Christians are the same? that they're all confused and jump the band wagon because people always tell them it's the right thing to do? you made a choice to not follow Christ, and Christians made theirs. instead of blatantly calling Christians confused and what not, rather just respect them for what choices they make. like i said, not everyone's the same. but a lot of them seek positivity in their lives through Christ. that shouldn't be considered a flaw.
loseronald 1 year ago
@geezer6970 ...I understand your point, all too well, actually. Not just "spewing" quotes. Just seemed to fit, i suppose. I'm not disagreeing with you. People SHOULD research and make an informed choice. It's all good, my friend.
1028posse 1 year ago
@1028posse It's nice to see that people are more intelligent about religion. Most people do it just because of they're family/friends. At least you know what you're talking about.
