  • I was reading an original copy of "The Spare Half Hour" by C.H. Spurgeon from the late 1800's and felt compelled to give a search on youtube. He has a quite lengthy illustration on the effects of "the world" hardening peoples hearts and spirits like the Dripping Well at Knaresborough. I see mostly teddy bears hanging there, but he describes hats, shoes, birds, bird nests, a raven, a hare...I guess animals didn't have too many rights back then.

  • Does anyone remember the fox in the cliffs?

  • what a fantastic video thanks so much for sharing!!

  • filming there soon :)

  • Namaste ~*~

  • Lovely place..we're so lucky its only a 10 minute bus ride away from us...My kids and I love it here in the summer

  • i live there sukas!

  • I visited Knaresborough on Monday it's a really beautiful place and Old Mother Shipton's cave is really interesting!

  • I visited Knaresborough a few days ago (for work purposes) and I stayed in The Dowerhouse Hotel, just up the road from O.M.S.Cave. I wish i had more time to sight-see because it looks lovely.

I would strongly recommend going to yorkshire. It is a beautiful place and the people are friendly and helpful. x

  • We visited there on Saturday. It's a very eery and beautiful place.

  • i just am researching some prophecies and came across a history channel docu about mother shipton and how she explained end of world...

    what happened there?

Im assuming she lived in a cave around there?

  • Yeah, she was born in a cave when her mother was cast out of the community for refusing to reveal who the father of her child was... check out the story, it's fascinating. You can actually go check out the cave. It's an incredible place to visit.

  • That was great. I am hoping to visit there one day (am in NZ). Video well done. Thanks.

  • I moved from Knaresborough to America 5 1/2 years ago and I miss it SO much!!! Iv only been back once, and even that was only for a couple days, I didn't get to walk around town much or go down by the river which is my favorite bit of it!!! grrr

  • i love ice cream

  • me 2.

    :)

  • i live in harrogate and my view is harrogate/knaresborough are very nice places. full of children in hooded tops and full of boy racers (where isnt?). both towns are very nice places and in comparison to manchester, leeds, london etc they are very peacefull places. Harrogate is famous for Bettys, Vally Gardens and old buildings. Knaresborough is famous for Shiptons Cave, Buildings and the river. they arnt full of entertainment arcades (but it aint blackpool). Very nice place to live and visit

  • I agree 100% with what you say ... many thanks for adding your comment

  • in my view you're all snobs.. harrogate is full of old tory gits looking for cups of weak tea.

  • I have never been to Harrogate so can comment any further , apart from the fact that I do not live in Yorkshire ...

  • trust me its not as good as what it looks ive lived there for the past 4 years n its full of pricks around that erea

  • I totally disagree, I found it magical and peaceful and it gave me hope when my dad was dying from cancer. I put my hand in the wishing well and wished him well. My wish didn't come true in this life but one day we'll meet again and all will be well.

  • thats not very nice i live 5 mins away from there and im not a prick! infact i think im very lovely lol x

  • of course Paul Daniels started putting bags of calcium phosphate upstream to speed up the petrification process after he bought the place.

  • Wonderful. Someday I'll make it back to England, and pass by this peaceful place. Thank you for sharing this.

  • Nice vid. I always liked Knaresborough and the whole N Yorks area.
