Hello man, what interface type recording unit was you using before? I wanted to start out using just an interface/software package for recording--so I'd like to know what would be a decent way to get started
I've been using a DP02 since 2008 when they came out. I record everything flat (no effects, zero out everything). When you master the song, add reverb to each individual track by hitting the 'shift' button and 'reverb' button simultaneously... then adjust the level of reverb with the effects nobs above each individual fader
you double spit rhymes in da mind so you wont forget, hey bra your set up is da shit lol good vid kid. i got the tascam too and you helped me out dude. so ty.
Its best to use Pro Tools to edit or Logic dnt waste time tryn to edit on that thing it gets u no where that machine is more for live Rec. Artist with instruments you know u can just go and buy tc helicon that will help u out alot if u dnt want to edit on software for effects helicon is the bomb when it comes to live recording even has a voice pitch correct re-verb harmonizer and it just plugs into your system and mics run thru the vocal boxes for more info contact Solo at c3entertainment.

Yea, if you tryin to go all the way hardware you can buy a effects rack, but a cheaper way to go would be to send a snake out of the effects send of your dp02 into your computer interface and use a software effect. Adjust the effect using the software and the amount on the dp02.
@bigtuna1986 you have to make sure you arm the tracks an you have a phatom power mic be sure that it is lit up then hit the record an play at the same time an go to work lol
i love this equipment.. the only thing is the editing proceses im still not understading that. i wanna learn how move the chorus into other parts of my song to save time.
I re-watched your help video. You can export your vocal track to your computer and use your computer software like Sonar or Pro Tools (not sure what you use). I can upload the vocal track to that and use your software to do re-verb or compression with the plug-ins in your software and import that track back into the DP-02
i use a tascam and i record wit pro tools...i rap real good so when i use tha tascam its all one take..therefore i dont need to edit and it comes out nice..but if u can use protools ...use it..tha tascam will help u learn how to level and master everything ...not that much of an editor...i thought about that beat 2..but u said naaa..

I love this :) I'm interested in buying the Tascam DP 02 to record acoustic guitar and such..this seems like an awesome program though! Thanks for sharing your stuff it's good!
how do you even put the instrumental on there.... i see when i put the cd in it wont save the beats so im guessing i got upload the beat from the pc to put it on this joint,. let me know
The DP-02 has built in effects such as reverb and onboard effects for guitars and bass. I do not believe that the DP-02CF has these effects built in. It should have an effects send/receive that you can attach an external effects unit for reverb and the such. I would thing that if you have a delay or reverb pedal for a guitar you could use it in the effects loop for the tracks you need it on.
Do The Tascam Dp 02 or the cf have a pre amp???
