I'm from Madeira, this is a volcanic island. And we have the three types of stone that Plato describes in his scripts. Red, Black and White stones from which atlanteans made their buildings. And in Azores you can find natural thermal and cold springs, as Plato said in his scripts describing Atlantis.

Your comment is very interesting and I do share your opinions about Atlanis' location - more or less. Yes, Plato did describe the island continent as being 'beyond the Pillars of Hercules' - Plato lived about 420BC and about 100 years before him lived Herodotus, the "father of history." He mentions Atlantis by name in referring to the body of water into which it sank. The waters outside the Pillars of Hercules was said to be known as the Atlantis Sea.

I think theres little doubt that the island continent of Atlantis existed exactly where you have stated. For all those who still believe that it may be found somewhere in the Mediterranean around the Greek islands etc etc, those theories simply dont stand up even under light scrutiny - and in view of the much more ancient texts by the Indian Vishnu as I've described elsewhere here, I don't think the 'within the Mediterranean' arguments which seem to prevail, hold any water whatsoever.

Given the high level of development of Atlantean society and their desire to explore and set-up colonies and outposts elsewhere, I think we will discover submerged cities - outposts of the Atlantean civilisation in and around the Mediterranean region and perhaps even much further afield. And the fact that the mythology of the atlantean civilization argues it was a seafaring civilization. It's easy to imagine that most of the important cities and centers of their culture... vanished.

This has been covered extensively by Graham Hancock in Fingerprints Of The Gods. And it is true that Einstein supported Charles Hapgood in his theoretical work on crust displacement.

There is also the Piri Reis map which shows Antarctica without any ice and it is consistent with data compiled by survey teams so, at the very least, someone was mapping Antarctica when it was at a latitude significantly more northward than where it is today.

But if earth's crust indeed flipped — an impossibility in geophysical and astrophysical terms — several other consequences would necessarily occur that are not observed in practice.
