This is the first french and saunders skit I ever saw. My sister showed it to me and told me it was hilarious. I didn't really look at British comedy except for Keeping up Appearances, but I saw it and watched every French and Saunders skit I could find. LOL, I like how AC is their enemy but every singer knows eating right before you perform is a no go.

If this sketch weren't poking fun at something that IS real (even if it's hardly the majority of singers), then it wouldn't be half as funny as it is. Even if they don't do all of the things in this sketch, I'm sure most of us in the classical music world know lots of vocalists who have at least one or two of the characteristics. "It's for my throat..." or having too many cats. XD

@RaWrZzZz I'm not a singer, I'm a repetiteur & conductor. Most opera singers don't behave like in this sketch of course. They just want to get on with the job. The truly great ones like the late Sutherland or Sills didn't have anything to prove and let their artistry and talent speak for them. This sketch pokes fun at the small number of insecure singers who are too lazy to learn their craft and their music properly and hide behind a mask of pretention.

As a french and saunders fan and a kylie minogue fan I found this spoof hillarious. I like it when sarah asks renata (jennifer) how many cats she has to which renata says 32. I also like it when lucia (dawn) asks the man if he can get her some toffee crunch ice cream, a bacon and cheeseburger and some profiteroles and when lucia is eating her ice cream and renata is drinking tea when the song starts. I don't known if kylie has seen this but I reckon she would laugh herself silly at this spoof.
