I've got a set of Old School Fanatic Q 6.5s in a pair of these kicks, and they are very heavy now. I wanted to see how you secured your kicks in place, because in the car's floor there is only one little plastic plug which held the old kick in place.

How did you secure your kick-panels?

If you cover the entire backside it will better midbass response it is almost like giving it a small sealed enclosure

this is normally true if you can properly build the kickpanel to the speakers. but in most kick panel applications even top qualifying cars in iasca meca and every other league. the kicks are left venting into quarter panels and up into the dash or even the floor board to some extent because the way the kicks are made are more about positioning and leaving the size of the kick panel as the variable because kick panels with a proper volume would take up half your footroom

Yeah steve,the kick panels DO look good where you have them.And look clean as hell! Plus you have the other tweeters with the speakers in the doors....the sound is gonna be CRAZY clear,with the subs bring up the rear,lol!

For SQ, kickpanels are the BEST place to put your mids and highs period. Ifi wasnt running millions of watts and tons of speakers, a pair in the kick and a few 12's would be a real nice clean system.

yeah kick panels are by far the best thing for imaging. You just gotta be patient in making kick panels. It will be way more effective making your own kick panels and aiming them in the right spot, other than using the POS Q-Logics also.

200 bucks for 2 pieces of plastic. For SQ purposes, yeah they're not that good. You have all the skills to make your own kick panels and sound 10 times better, I don't get why you just didn't do that. But you're not really aiming for SQ anyways..
