  • Lived in my house since I was 5....my dad lost his job, my mom had to work twice as much to keep us afloat. We ended up losing the house though.. Theres not a day that goes by that i dont miss that house.

  • is it hard for anyone else not to cry at this song?

  • my parents divorced and it wasnt my real dad and he got the house so this song is how i feel alot of the time

  • this reminds me of my neighborhood when i was a child. Our parents killed my baby dog and he was my favorite. They had these little ugly mutt's and they had to poison mine :( I miss the dog every day

  • Word by word this song is my life. Only I can never go back to my home because it got burned to the ground in 2010 :'(

  • @nevadalilli aww im sorry

  • There is a really cool story behind how the writers wrote this song and how it was originally pitched to Blake Shelton, in the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music edition available on Amazon. The original demo that was pitched to Blake is also available for download on Amazon MP3's under Classic Country Demos Vol. 1

  • Dorothey in Kansas sings, The House That Almost Killed Me.

  • i remember my first house.. i miss it! this song engurges me to go to my old house :) I'll say i promise i wont take but nothin but a memory :)

  • country talks about reilly people its made so people can understand that they are not the only ones with problems rock, rap, hip-hop,pop. they are all made for the sole purpose f making money

  • She looks like an older version of Hayden Pantierre sorta lol

  • @lotrfanbjr Miranda's 28, Hayden is 24 so not THAT much older.

Miranda Lambert is my favorite artist <3 She shows so much emotion in her songs....

She never fails to impress me

  • thumbs up if blake sheltons the luckiest guy ever

  • why is it that some people are talking shit about Miranda. I get it freedom of speech but damn there has gotta be a point where you need to just keep some comments to yourself. she is a very talented country singer and i love people with that type of talent and that much heart for as you can see it relates to most of us so be respectful. If you don't like the song then go ahead and click the thumbs down and you are free to watch what ever video you like

  • Defiantly a song that I can relate to. I have lived in the place that I am currently living in since i was in grade 2 and when I was in grade 5 my mom passed away. My dad got remarried and we have to sell the house because we cant afford it anymore.

So this song relates to me in a different way however i can still relate to it.

  • Hey guys i posted a video of me singing this song so please check it out ! :)

  • how does this song always makes me wanna cry?

  • Beautiful song sung by a beautiful woman. Miranda is a great role model.

  • im a chris brown fan, therefore i have to dislike this girl, she seems a bitch anyway.

  • @thepostal15 This is country music, chris browns a fag, fuck off if you have nothin nice to say

  • @thepostal15 U Like woman beaters, huh, ya Punk????

  • @MsSignguy Nah mate, the bitch deserved it, if anything, rihanna was asking for a punch, she just looks like that kinda girl.

  • @thepostal15 for your record buddy, chris brown fans are mostly teens. he will never exist if kids didn't live in the first place... wow that sounds messed up.. (sorry my young fellows Q_Q) just trying to showcase the type of fans he's got. TBH, he's no different than miley cyrus nor taylor swift. just rubbish. but good stuff buddy

  • @thepostal15 Well you sound like the kind of guy that's going to burn in hell. Just saying.

  • @xxfoxxymugglexx Thanks, and you did exactly that, "Just said it" douche.

  • @thepostal15 woman beater >.<

  • @truleywolfina Fuck, did you search for my comment just to say that? get a life dude.

  • one chris brown song beats you whole career. Dumb hoe

  • hey that is my fav song and i know how u feel about ur dog i had lost of dogs in my family and that past

  • @TheViolenceMan Get over it.

  • @TheViolenceMan nice name, says quite a lot about chris brown fans.

  • @iKneelBforScarecrow 1-i'm not a chris brown fan- 2- i just think young people can make mistakes and they should be re-educated, not put to death like many really violent internet mobs are asking- 3 media and "celebrities" and using this issue to promote themselves.

  • @TheViolenceMan idk what the hell ur talking 'bout, with all this killing shit... r u sure u commented on the right video? Because this is a hell of a good song

  • Pretty song

  • soooo not pretty

  • @rockync7 wow thanks for that really pessimistic comment

  • im a small town girl from ohio. when i turned 18 i went off to college in new york city and left my life behind. i'm twenty now and even though i love my life, i wish everyday that i could just go home and play my piano without hearing sirens and city buzz. this song really makes me miss my childhood.

  • @jenvb01 I'm a country boy from Oklahoma. I feel the same way. Whenever I go home, I'll just sit out in the yard and listen to the peace and quiet. My family thinks I'm crazy for wanting to move back to a small town after college.

  • @NKeen1000 it is nothing to be in country. listen to the lyrics ,. it is to be back in the house she grew up in cause she will be away from there !!

  • @NKeen1000 where at in oklahoma

  • @Mofallon00 umm, what do u just post these things on all of Miranda's songs? I mean its obvious ur jealous, but really u dont think that was taking it too far?

  • If i get 50 likes, i will make a cover on this song. (:

  • Everytime i hear this song it makes me cry because me & my family lived in a house from the time i was born until i was 15 when my parents divorced & one year later it was torn down. The house in this songs is almost identical to mine. So many memories when listening to this song it takes me back. Beautiful song. :)

  • I cry everytime i hear this song..This song camr out around the time we were moving. I sat on my bed and cried and tlaked to my two best friends on the phone the night before we moved. I knew tihngs wouldnt be the same once i left. We wouldnt be as close as we were. i coudl relate with everything she said in this song...guitar...having favorite animals buried in the backyard...i miss it. i feel like thigs would be so much better if i were to stay at that little house..i miss it so much</3

  • I swear the line, "My favorite dog is buried in the backyard" gets me every damn time!

  • HOW I WISH I HAD MIRANDA BARE FEET

    TOUCHING MY WHOLE ENTIRE FACE

  • This song gives chills

  • @nengeri why?

  • @messygirl2009 Because of the amount of truth in the words and that not everyone gets that chance of going back. It is not in a bad way. I love the song.

  • @nyawira1000 what the crap?

  • i'm getting pissed of at these AD's. we shouldn't have to watch ad's to watch a beautiful song.

  • wow love her voice and shes a true curvy beautiful woman

  • the song never fails to make me cry.

  • @23xRichieD Me too Everytime I hear it...

  • check out my new cover of this song & let me know what you think!

  • Such a beautiful song. Reminds me of the home I spent the last 10 years in. Well...almost 10 years. Lost it last year. But I still get to see it everyday as I live in a rental house behind it. There's a new family living in it now, but I know they'll take care of it just like my mother did.

  • @Smokex12

I understand how you feel. My Harvard house reminded me of a simpler time where I truly was someone else. There was a mulberry tree my brother and I climbed and we would pick mulberries and put them in a bucket so my grandma could make something with them. actually thats a terrible lie, because we always ended up eating all the berries before the landed in the bucket. My grandparents raised my brother and I, and my granddad built us a swingset we played on every single day.

  • This song reminds me of when I grew up in Harvard, IL. That place taught me what country means. The first verses "I know they say you can't go home again, but I just had to come bace one last time" whenever I drive through Harvard, I just have to drive past that house, because every word of this chorus is true. When she says, "And I bet you didn't know, that under that live oak, my favorite dog is buried in the yard." When my cat died, we buried her under the cherry blossom tree. So much <3 2 ML

  • It is such a beautiful song.

  • one of my favorite songs eva

  • My dad just moved out of the house I'd lived in my whole life. We buried my dog next to the chicken coop. There's a thicket of blackberries behind the house. A big old maple tree in the front yard, along with a rock shaped like Ariel's from The Little Mermaid where I used to sit and sing. A huge cedar tree, where I climbed and cried when I was sad. A bog. A path where my brother and I "set up camp" once. I can't get over the fact that I will never go there again.

  • The worst feeling is knowing that there is a family living there right now, doing everything I did with mine.

  • @marcelamenegaz You shouldn't think of that as a negative thing. Your old house may serve as first home for a kid just like you :)

  • @AlexanderBarrow You're right. I remember the family had a baby, that little boy must be around 5 years old today. I'm not selfish, but... =(

  • Damn, it hit me hard.

  • thumbs up if you miss the last house you lived in... :(

  • The tears are on the brink of my eyes.... and i'm sure yours too

  • Love this song SO much! Reminds me of myself in a few ways... :) It's just hard to believe that i'll leave my house someday...

  • I'm 13 and have lived in this house my whole life. I learned to play guitar in my room and do my homework in here. I'm the youngest of 3, the oldest going to college in the fall. When I leave to go, this house will be sold. Its too small for just mom. My dad passed in this house. I can't tell you how much I'll miss it when I leave.

  • This song is such a tear jerker. Not a huge fan of country music but it's songs like this that hit the hardest…love it.

  • Please check out my cover of "Over you"! Thanks. :)

  • makes me cry every time

  • It just breaks me down and grounds me.

  • every time i hear this song i get chill bumps... this is an amazing song i am in love with it :)

  • i love this video. it just speaks to you. im going to sing this in my school talent show. :) this song explaines every ones house they grew up in. your where born there. you took your first steps in it. :)

  • love this video

  • I replay this song constantly. I've been out on my own for almost a decade, but moved back this year to take care of my sick mom. This house was my parent's dream, my dad's college design. I'm now dividing our estate, one room at a time. This is the house that built me. My favourite dog is burried in the back yard.. Thank you for this song, in letting me feel I'm not alone in it, and giving me an output to source my tears. It's beautful sadness, in the house that built me.

  • She is AMAZING, i met her with my friend in virginia last week, she is the best and really pretty

  • This song always gets me emotional because my dog just recently died not too long ago and she was amazing, and she is buried under a tree out back of my house.<3

  • @ToWriteLoveOnRach Sorry to hear about your dog! I've lost 3 the last 15 yrs..It's rough..Grieving over our pets is different.

  • Can't relate to the song as I moved every few years my whole life but it is still awesome.

  • What if you were just chillin at home and then Miranda Lambert came up to your door and said she used to live there. Would you let her in?

  • @AshleySMBrown You must be kidding, in a heart beat.

  • im a guy and i cry every time i here this song.... sooo many memories,

  • im reminded of my little sister becuase of this song it came out the day after she passed away and i have went back to the house that built us and i have found myself agin any body that has lost something and listens to this you shold go back to matter where you think you cant go just go itll help you alot

  • I love the house that built me so much. I'm lucky that my parents still own it and probably will for a long time, but I'll be crushed when/if they ever sell it. Sooooo many memories :)

  • Thanks for bringing back a piece of me.

  • por favor traduscana al español

  • I absolutley love this song <3

  • The house that built me, was the house i woke up one morning and found my grandmother dead laying on her bed. she fought a battle with Breast cancer and it finally took her. I woke up one morning and found her laying there lifeless.

  • IS THIS ADAM LAMBERT SISTER??

  • @wainwright465 Nope. :)

  • Haha I love how the woman is all like, Oh it's just Miranda freaking Lambert. In my house. No big deal.

  • college student's theme song right here....especially after you get out of college. you don't realize it while your in school, but home is never the same when you go back. and that feeling makes you feel lost and scared. and all you want to do is go home and feel the way you did before you went off on your own....makes you feel small.

  • I think of Jared who was like my brother. His mom had that house decked out in Native American things. They where what I thought was like the perfect family. I come back and its like its changed. Jared barely seems to care anymore, and he used to have so many goals. -Jesus Christ still loves and saves from sins.

  • whenever i listen to this song it reminds me of the house that my dad built. even though we dont live there anymore that will always be home to me. RIP daddy <3
