This is such an amazing song. ♥ One of my favorites. ♥ I don't understand why songs like this and other great country songs don't have more views. ♥ :'(
I lived in the house that built me! I was even married in this house and it has been in out family for over 100 years. So it has built a lot of people!
I used to live in a house in Courd'A'Lane, ID. I miss it so much. Miranda inspires me so much. I listen to this song every day. Sometimes I say "Mom, I'm just gonna listen to a song." I always think of putting on Miranda. Most of the time I choose the house that built me. It's so touching!!! :)
i know how you feel i lived in a house scince i was 9 i tore me apart when i had to move because my great great granpa and grandma lived there my great grandpa aand grandma lived there my papa and nana lived there and my mom grew up in that house! D':
I can definitely relate to this song. My family moved from our house due to (almost) foreclosure- I've lived there for 22 years and honestly... I was happy to move because A LOT of bad things happened in that house to my family and I. I'm still happy we're out of there but occasionally... I think about the good things that did happen and I miss it.
I moved for the first time about sixth months ago. And only now am I feeling the effects. I feel sort of stuck between homes now. I lived in that house my whole life and now it isn't mine anymore. :'( I miss it and this song is beautiful.
this is a true story for me. when i was 5 my favorite dog, happy died of polio. then when i was 7 we had to move from our house because it was burnt down. i miss my old house so much.
When I got married and moved away. I thought I never would want to come back, I really didn't realize how much I missed all the memories, My Dad passed away not even 2 yrs ago and his request was to be buried behind the house and I live next door to the house that a lot of the greatest memories will remain.
im not one of those crying when i see a movie type of 15yr old girls. but this got me cryin. i dont know why but it did. I guess because of what happened in the past.
Hi everyone..I'm Shane McDonald; I'm an Irish singer/songwriter trying to get noticed on youtube. Wow,what a voice ,what a song ,the only other person on youtube that even comes close to Miranda is a 13yr old girl Cheyenne Saucier " Great job girls"
@eneoreo09 the house isnt her real one she grew up in. its a house similar to the one she grew up in. she mentions it in her behind the scenes video for this
Natural tendency makes us afraid of leaving what we know to be safe.
the sadness of this song is evoked by the thought that what you'll have going forward will never be as good as the past. When it can be. Unfortunately too many people have the natural inclination to assume the most negative outcome.
Of course it's always wonderful to have a past you can go back and smile about; a simpler time, even if it was just for a moment.
But most important: Don't be sad it's over, smile that it happened
@snugglebear4 it wasn't written by Blake but by Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin. Blake Shelton was originally set to record the song but when Miranda heard it, she immediately wanted to record it for herself.
I left bits of my heart in the each of the two houses I grew up in,,,,,,,,I'll never forget them. "you leave home, you move on, you do the best you can" <3
Im gonna go home to my smalltown oneday to that cute little house, ima walk up to the door and sya"exuse me,see that little tree in the front yard.i climbed that tree a hundred time and fell out of it even moe.ya know that cute little pink room up thoses stairs. that was mine,ya know that strange fence post over there.my daddy was gonna build a fence.the dork never finished.and that little room off of the living room, that was the computer room that was extemly messy,im sorry mam.can i come in?"
Funny, I did this exact thing several yrs ago when we went to Greenville, SC. I walked right up to the door and explained that I had grown up in that house and that the name on the playhouse outside in the backyard was mine... they invited me in and stood back while I walked from room to room being flooded with flashbacks...I'll never forget that day
at the camp i go to every summer (circle R ranch) we sing this song at campout night and it brings back good memories of the peple ive met there and it ifeels like my home away from home.
I'm so lucky to have been able to go back to my house a few years ago and was invited inside. It was wonderful. I cried just like I do every time I hear this song. Just beautiful. This is at the top of my all time favorites list.
This song really moves me. I lived in the same house in Georgia until I was 20. Recently when I came home from a break from college my momma told me we were moving due to money issues, and soon. The house still hasn't sold yet, so every time I come home on break I like to go to that house and just take it all in. I find myself crying when i look at it. My mom and daddy kept that house in great shape, and when i think of it, I think of all the good times. Such an innocent time... Thanks Miranda!
Some peeople don't have or understand the country set of mind anymore. I think more people should be like Miranda Lambert and speak out against crap like this. Chris Brown is, well, kind of a punk. ANYONE who watches TMZ or Access Hollywood already knows this. I don't think his actions should condemn him forever but I don't think I can forget either.
whats with the negative comments? and how did chris brown get thrown in the mix? smh people grow up if you dont have nothing nice to say do as your mother or grandmother told you and dont say nothing at all smh
Lived in my house since I was 5....my dad lost his job, my mom had to work twice as much to keep us afloat. We ended up losing the house though.. Theres not a day that goes by that i dont miss that house.
this reminds me of my neighborhood when i was a child. Our parents killed my baby dog and he was my favorite. They had these little ugly mutt's and they had to poison mine :( I miss the dog every day
There is a really cool story behind how the writers wrote this song and how it was originally pitched to Blake Shelton, in the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Country Music edition available on Amazon. The original demo that was pitched to Blake is also available for download on Amazon MP3's under Classic Country Demos Vol. 1
country talks about reilly people its made so people can understand that they are not the only ones with problems rock, rap, hip-hop,pop. they are all made for the sole purpose f making money
why is it that some people are talking shit about Miranda. I get it freedom of speech but damn there has gotta be a point where you need to just keep some comments to yourself. she is a very talented country singer and i love people with that type of talent and that much heart for as you can see it relates to most of us so be respectful. Defiantly a song that I can relate to. I have lived in the place that I am currently living in since i was in grade 2 and when I was in grade 5 my mom passed away. My dad got remarried and we have to sell the house because we cant afford it anymore.
So this song relates to me in a different way however i can still relate to it.
@thepostal15 for your record buddy, chris brown fans are mostly teens. he will never exist if kids didn't live in the first place... wow that sounds messed up.. (sorry my young fellows Q_Q) just trying to showcase the type of fans he's got. TBH, he's no different than miley cyrus nor taylor swift. just rubbish. but good stuff buddy
My Mom still lives in the house she and my Dad brought me home from the hospital in. I relate to this beautiful song...it brings tears to my eyes. I am an only child. i was a child for only 5 years...then I was a child no longer...but something else. Nightingale
feminist pig who do you think you are ? CB receiving a grammy is nothing but well deserved on account that his MUSIC is world class. I cant believe how stupid you are ? talking about how your "daddy" taught you how to use a shotgun. Like is that a death threat ? haha he even gave you the Publicity you wanted! you should be grateful! #TeamBreezy

stupid cunt, what they should do to that chris brown? kill him? everyone is suddenly a judge, this hoe is clearly using this thing to sponsor herself.
@iKneelBforScarecrow 1-i'm not a chris brown fan- 2- i just think young people can make mistakes and they should be re-educated, not put to death like many really violent internet mobs are asking- 3 media and "celebrities" and using this issue to promote themselves.
@TheViolenceMan idk what the hell ur talking 'bout, with all this killing shit... r u sure u commented on the right video? Because this is a hell of a good song
i grew up on a small farm in a very small town in mn and this song really hits home....its been so many years ago...dads gone so is my one brother but thank god for great memories,we were allways a close family this takes me back swimming in the pond, playing in the hay loft with my best friend joe(also gone) man i miss those days those people....thanks for the memories...and my dog lady is buried under a big oak there miss her too
im a small town girl from ohio. when i turned 18 i went off to college in new york city and left my life behind. i'm twenty now and even though i love my life, i wish everyday that i could just go home and play my piano without hearing sirens and city buzz. this song really makes me miss my childhood.
@jenvb01 I'm a country boy from Oklahoma. I feel the same way. Whenever I go home, I'll just sit out in the yard and listen to the peace and quiet. My family thinks I'm crazy for wanting to move back to a small town after college.
@Mofallon00 umm, what do u just post these things on all of Miranda's songs? I mean its obvious ur jealous, but really u dont think that was taking it too far?
Everytime i hear this song it makes me cry because me & my family lived in a house from the time i was born until i was 15 when my parents divorced & one year later it was torn down. The house in this songs is almost identical to mine. So many memories when listening to this song it takes me back. Beautiful song. :)
I cry everytime i hear this song..This song camr out around the time we were moving. I sat on my bed and cried and tlaked to my two best friends on the phone the night before we moved. I knew tihngs wouldnt be the same once i left. We wouldnt be as close as we were. i coudl relate with everything she said in this song...guitar...having favorite animals buried in the backyard...i miss it. i feel like thigs would be so much better if i were to stay at that little house..i miss it so much</3
@messygirl2009 Because of the amount of truth in the words and that not everyone gets that chance of going back. It is not in a bad way. I love the song.
This song means a great deal to me because I lost my childhood home burnt down in a fire. I cry everytime hearing this song. Happy and sad tears. I love this song.
awww just like my cousin ... her whole family died in a winter car wreck she went into a coma and they sold her house and when she noticed someone bought it she screamed to get inside for memories
Really makes me think of why family is soo important.

feminist pig who do you think you are ? CB receiving a grammy is nothing but well deserved on account that his MUSIC is world class. I cant believe how stupid you are ? talking about how your "daddy" taught you how to use a shotgun. Like is that a death threat ? haha he even gave you the Publicity you wanted! you should be grateful! #TeamBreezy

@iKneelBforScarecrow 1-i'm not a chris brown fan- 2- i just think young people can make mistakes and they should be re-educated, not put to death like many really violent internet mobs are asking- 3 media and "celebrities" and using this issue to promote themselves.

im a small town girl from ohio. when i turned 18 i went off to college in new york city and left my life behind. i'm twenty now and even though i love my life, i wish everyday that i could just go home and play my piano without hearing sirens and city buzz. this song really makes me miss my childhood.

@jenvb01 I'm a country boy from Oklahoma. I feel the same way. Whenever I go home, I'll just sit out in the yard and listen to the peace and quiet. My family thinks I'm crazy for wanting to move back to a small town after college.

Everytime i hear this song it makes me cry because me & my family lived in a house from the time i was born until i was 15 when my parents divorced & one year later it was torn down. The house in this songs is almost identical to mine. So many memories when listening to this song it takes me back. Beautiful song. :)

@messygirl2009 Because of the amount of truth in the words and that not everyone gets that chance of going back. It is not in a bad way. I love the song.
