i think mj's voice got worse the older he got...all the songs you mention are older,and while he is no where near as good as the greats(vandross,redding,cooke,green etc) compare his vocal ability to terrence trent darby,who is easily the best singer of the last 20 years..not as popular as mj obviously but a much better singer/musician

i think mj's voice got worse the older he got...all the songs you mention are older,and while he is no where near as good as the greats(vandross,redding,cooke,green etc) compare his vocal ability to terrence trent darby,who is easily the best singer of the last 20 years..not as popular as mj obviously but a much better singer/musician

12 years before,at the height of mj's popularity,and you dont want to compare because its not fair?people liked it because it showed dancing that was current and popular,and it was performed extremely well,by actors/singers/dancers no where near as famous as mj..and still did alot better around the world..variation makes you better all round,not having a set of like 5 moves your really good at..o's got a successful movie,aswell as videos,and is still around

technically any good dancer could copy any moves,after all its only coordination and weight transfer,so in saying that any good dancer could easily emulate mj,my cousin was a mj impersonator about 10 years ago and said all the freestyle stuff is harder to grasp than gliding and moonwalk,i like o's personality a bit easier to relate to,mj kinda creeped me out..a little too eccentric to be real

i dont underrate him at all,i just dont rate him as the greatest..cb doesnt do the same moves at all,compare yo,run it,wall to wall,with you and there is very different moves,but every mj video on here is pretty much the same(honestly)..and mj fans want to see that,the signature stuff,didnt really progress into the modern era of dance,for me,and i got tired of watching billie jeans re-runs..for the time it was new,it was amazing..but its not new now..i mean no insult to fans,just my opinion

thats fine,but i think he has quite a limited range,and thats why any video of him generally will have a compilation of the same moves,his footwork is fine,but he looks awkward alot,and any decent glider will put him to shame..saying im sure he could,is just speculation,being able to do more styles well compared to a set of signature moves,in my view makes you better,.like a decathlete compared to a 100m sprinter,might lose the one race,but overall is a better athlete.

to change the subject and put perspective in,look at curtis blow,innovator and inspiration to modern rap,but then look at what rap has turned into,style,technique,rhymes and compare to curtis and one thing becomes apparent,curtis is dated and not really relevent now..is he still the greatest because he paved the way for some artists?is he the best because he was inspiration?..some rap fans wouldnt know who he is,it will happen to mj,it happened to elvis,cant stop it sorry,even more so now..

first off if he invented the robot(which i doubt he did)just because he did it first doesnt make him the best,,,all his dances are dated as he couldnt move with the times,even up until recently it was the same old robot,glide moonwalk and kicks..hes the king of pop,not the king of dance,and there are plenty of mj impersonators,which half of viewers could not tell the difference between the 2..i never said chris was better,but i do think omarion is,his video touch is alot smoother than mj..

i was thinking,cb does that spinning kick thing and flips,and can copy all of mj's moves aswell,but ive never seen mj do anything acrobatic..so he probably couldnt replicate cb's routines..does that say anything?no question about vocals it would be mj,simply because he was at his peak before a computer could help your voice...am i wrong about the dance thing though,someone saying no one can dance like mj is wrong,most good dancers could copy the moves pretty easily

scream,jam and remember the time came out in the 90's,the movie breakin' was in the 80's and that used sideslide,and heaps of moves which are now concidered "hip hop"...james brown was sliding around way before mj...and the lean was a gimmick and not even a real thing..my original point was he relyed on moves he'd created and never adapted to new hip hop,so was extremely dated..
