i don't think she hates his so much as she views him as below her in terms of status - therefore she's just rude to him... nothing personal.

Well, If you have seen the season 2 finale, you have seen she really knows him very well.
I think she likes him more than she wants to admit. She also knows that he is gentleman enough to not reply to her cutting remarks...Dan is her whipping-boy!!
