You forgot to provide the bootloaders for when unlocking a 2G iPhone.

To restore your phone , just hold the home button down again till it goes in safe mode, then it will start to restore or update ur phone, to jailbreak ur phone it will not erase anything just make sure u don't download anything that looks bad. Cydia is the only u need.

If you're trying to JailBreak a 3.0.1 iPhone 3G, make sure you download the 3.0 firmware instead of the 3.0.1 firmware. redsnow will say that the 3.0.1 firmware cannot be identified and you will have to download the 3.0 firmware instead.

@MrDptheman1 yeh. its a tetherd jailbreak with 3rd gen touch. I had the same problem. All you have to do is open it back up and presss the button again. Thats all you have to do. Just ignore all the itunes stuff and run black ra1n again

I redsn0w-win_0.8 my 3G iPhone 3.0.1 and to install Icy and Cydia. I tried to load Cydia but it kept crashing. I redsn0w-win_0.8 again and now when it gets to the end of the pineapple man and completes, it re-boots but when it comes back on it shows the grey/silver apple logo and then it shows the loading animation and it keeps doing that and then vibrating and then doing the same thing over and over again. If you updated your iphone to firmware 3.1(as i did) you can't jailbreak it at this time, you have to wait for that fix to come out. However, this is a fix for 3.0.1 which could still be jail broken.. 3.1 is the latest firmware which cannot be jail broken until a fix comes out.. lets keep our fingers crossed.

Right click the file rename the extension .zip to .ipsw
