I was a freshman at OSU that year, and I remember all the smack talk by Les before the game and thinking "Is that really such a great idea? The best regular season by a team, and you're going to talk smack?" If they say nothing and lose, they got beat fair and square by a great team. If they talk smack and lose, they're buffoons.

they didn't close the show, but during most of that season the 2003 OU team looked like one of the most dominate teams in college football history. 65-13 over texas and 52-9 over OSU. their two biggest rivals, and they were both ranked in the top 15 nationally.

It's pretty amazing how we looked when Mike Stoops was still on our staff..and look at us today. It's like night and day, I don't care what anybody says. We're far from being the team we were back then, and it's not because of a lack of talent. We are lacking bigtime in the coaching department. I honestly don't believe Bob Stoops is a good head coach. He's a great defensive mind, a hell of a recruiter, but as far as bringing discipline, intensity, leadership, it was those other guys that did it.

I might be one of the biggest OSU fans you'll find, but I'm not on here to talk smack, more to brag. I'm proud to be an Oklahoman, and proud to have two teams the caliber and class of ours. You can say what you want, but without one or the other, there'd be no Bedlam...and it is one of the greatest multi-sports rivalries in all of college. Go Pokes!

The funny thing is, when OSU beats OU (occasionally) you'd think they just won the national championship, but for OU it's just another game. Our goals are bigger.

OU has participated in 5 BCS Bowl games in the past 7 years. OSU has NEVER been to one nor will ever go to one, not in Mike Gundy's lifetime anyway, & I heard somewhere recently that he's 40!

I have never understood why OU fans are so dismissive of OSU.They don't compete on the same level as OU because traditionally OU is a powerhouse in football.Recruiting is never an issue.OSU continues to be competitive with a limited talent pool.If OSU is so insignificant then why the youtube .Obviously its because '01 &'02 are still a thorn in the side of the sooner fans. Let it go.You have the football titles.BTW, OSU has 48 National Championships.There are sports other than football.

You're sadly mistaken, it's all about football. And, actually it's the other way around with Cowboy fans. 2001 graduates with jewelry representing the score, give me a break. Every time OSU does manage to beat us thay act like it's the last, and the only game of the season.

It isn't all about football. I realize like many Oklahomans you focus on the only sport where OU is consistant. How big a fan were you during the post Switzer pre-Stoops era? Gundy is an excellent coach and while he doesn't have the same recruiting power as Stoops, I believe his tirade to the press may actually help his recruiting next year. OU is screwed if OSU ever gets good enough to compete for a national title because when that happens OU wont be getting all the best highschool athletes.

Glad you asked, I've been a huge fan all my life, including the (Shnellenburger year) & Blake years. My main sports interest has just always mainly revolved around college football. And, I realize that Gundy was taking up for his player, but in my opinion he still made an ass of himself in the way he went about it. I beleive that a 22 year old athlete on scholarship should also be considered a "Man" and could have defended himself somewhat.OU will always out recruit OSU.You can't buy tradition.

I guess I don't understand exactly what your getting at. Apparently, you think that Oklahoma's Greatness in football only goes back 8 years.OSU won a Big 8 ch. in 1976 and had a Heisman winner in 1988.Other than that, really what's to brag about.
