  • WHOOOOAAAA....I never knew this scene existed if you have lucca instead of marle resurrect crono... O____O

  • Crono+Lucca>Crono+Marle

    Lucca= intelligent, pragmatic, mature

    Marle= loud, hyper, spontanious

  • The thought behind Chrono not talking is that he represents you (the player) in the game, and you come up with your own piece of the dialogue. They did this in a lot of the mid-90s RPGs (Earthbound is another example).

  • this is awesome game i ever have in my memories! to bad the SQ devs didnt make crono talk in DS version! if i were knowing to hack i would make crono TALK!!!!

  • Chrono was the silent protaganist ;)... he didn't talk. Awesome game..I came here to listen to CT music...

  • It's funny cuz as soon as he came back i never used him xD

  • I like Lucca better than Marle.

  • @Re1Mu2R3 i like both :D

  • You should do the resurrection scene with Ayla. I'm sure it's a good one. lol

  • I like this one much more than Marle's.

  • This game must be based on a dynamic time theory.

If this was static, Crono would technically have never died, because the team would have already saved him, and the during the Lavos event, there should have been two Crono's, and they therefore should only have bothered to use the Chrono Trigger to keep Chrono alive by replicating the events, instead of actually trying to go rescue him.

  • @ZhadoxFlamez No, because they drag him back with them through the gate that the Time Egg created. So there's still only one Chrono there, and it's at the split second before the laser hit Chrono, so no one would have had a chance to see anything wrong with him. (Which is why in the DS version it shows him just evaporating! XD)

  • I thought this would be a video for the ceased remake called Chrono Trigger: Ressurection by Nathan Lazur and his team.... lol

  • Robo: Do not dispair.

    Nice job, dev team.

  • Heartwarming

  • The blowing wind sounds exactly like the one from FF6.

  • i'm crying her, this game is just awesome, i want the ressurection project back ;'(

  • You know what really sucked about this game? NOTHING.

  • @TheDirector999 clever.

  • if this was true...

    like another secret ending...

instead of him marrying marle could he marryed lucca....

    just think...

if the ydid.. wat would it be like...

  • Chrono Cross was a disgrace. It basically made this entire first game meaningless. The team that made it took a giant shit on Chrono Trigger by saying that some worthless Cat Humanoid comes back in time and assasinates Chrono and crew. Thus keeping lavos alive. Pathetic game. This is why you sometimes DON'T make sequels.

  • @Vigatos Actually, wrong completely. Some spoilers here: Since Lavos isn't killed until 1999 AD, in the year 1020 or whatever for CC, he is still very much alive in the earth. The importance of CC is that the 'version' of Lavos is him fused with Schala. Serge and co have to free Schala, returning Lavos to his original form so that Chrono and his crew can beat him in 1999 when they show up to kick his spikey ass.

Serge and co didn't steal the show, they just set the stage.

  • @luminozero No, the Time Devourer, like the Dream devourer, could just bend reality so that the destruction of it's previous form never happened. Schala may have been freed in THIS instance, but the Devourer escaped, and simply created a new Schala. NOTHING changed, Chrono Trigger DS shows this.

  • @corjonbett and thats why they should've never fucked up the story and never do a CT on DS with a gay new ending. The real ending is the SNES endings not the DS bullshit.

  • @alexboivin there is a fan game called crimson echoes which have a 1000 times better plot that can connect trigger and cross that the crappy new content in the DS

  • you guys realize that this scene is a time paradox, the Crono you see earlier in the game die is actually a clone, which means Crono is safe by default.... if you go by this games understanding of time.... Still, one of the best scenes in the game, if not in any game

  • @Mogget01 Actually it's not a paradox. A paradox is when a time traveler prevents the circumstances in which they travel back in the first place. Like if you try to assassinate Hitler before his rise to power, it'll create a paradox because if Hitler never rose to power you never would've had a reason to travel back in time to kill him.

This scene is one of the few non-paradoxes in the game.

  • @errolsmusic

More like stab Queen Zeal in the face. I hated that nutty bitch.

Certainly doesn't help that she can make everyone go to 1hp with a snap of her fingers.

  • @Frostwrath Thas why the best team is Robo Glenn and anyuone else because Glenn and Robo have a dula tech that maxs everyone's hp so here move becomes useless.

  • I prefer this version over the Marle version of this scene.

Not only do I prefer Crono/Lucca over Crono/Marle, but I also think that "At the Bottom of Night" fits this scene more than "Far Off Promise".

  • Crono you've been brought back from the dead......SAY SOMETHING!!!!

  • That's not Chrono Ressurection...

  • @Tokyoromi i felt the same way, but after looking at the title and the content, its an understandable mistake.

  • I bet Crono wouldn't talk here because he's too fucking confused as to what happened. He's just sitting there thinking "WTF, I thought I was kicking that giant hedgehog's ass!"

God knows I'd be pretty damn speechless.

  • If you do this scene with Ayla as the only women there, she also hugs Crono.

And then they have snoo snoo.

  • @maruku99 No she doesn't. The characters that play this scene are determined by a priority list. The character with the highest priority in the party plays the major role in the scene(and if it's Marle or Lucca, then they get the extra hugging scene). The one with the second highest priority in the party plays the minor role in the scene(the one who holds the pendant). The priority list for this scene goes Marle>Lucca>Frog>Robo>Ayla>Magus, so Ayla can only get to hold the pendant at best.

  • wait, did lucca just kiss crono?

NOW who's Marle suppose to go for?

  • @Respectthegore365 Frog, DUH.

  • @kfijatass well, she WOULD if frog were from her, crono, and lucca's time.

  • chrono and lucca should be together...not that other B****

  • why do ppl hate chrono cross i luv it chrono trigger, i dont much like it (my opinion)

  • @bleudogmom actually I have no idea. Maybe it's because people like originals better

  • Nice moment between Crono and Lucca. She really cares about him.

  • That's so... Lucca really does care about Crono(I mean as a friend), this scene is so cute!

  • I KNOW I'll probably get somebody who disagrees but Chrono Cross was terrible. It totally ruined this great story and screwed over ALL of the Present Time cast (Crono, Lucca, and Marle). But yeah, Crono's Resurrection was probably one of the most memorable moments in my gaming history.

  • chrono cross wasn't that bad, if you think about it the game has 2 alternate realities which is the focus of the plot one reality could mean crono and the others are still alive while another where they failed to kill lavos.

  • But that's only in "fanfic land". While it's plausible, sure, the canon story tells of them all dying out in ways I can't even deem acceptable. Not only that, but there were huge plot holes in the story, terribly handled cliches, and the battle system was atrocious. Even before I knew the story, I hated the battle system in comparison to Trigger.

Unfortunately for me though, the creator of CC loved his concept despite those who detest it, so the hopes of something better are null for me :/

  • This is just slightly ruined by Robo's text misspelling "despair".

  • lol, i noticed Robo's misspelled dialog, too. let's put it this way, though: a misspelling that largely went unnoticed is a way better mood killer than engrish, which would have made this game comedy.

  • wish we could go back in time and save lucca in chrono cross

  • I think there should be an anime in whch marle and lucca are both in love with chrono.. lucca doesnt knows it yet and realizes when she is jeaolus of marle. Im workin on a fanficition and manga check it out soon..

  • Comment removed

  • They should have changed Schala with a Schala doll too...

  • @Pokemarky

The only problem with that is the fact that everyone would be dead then. After Crono's death, Schala saves everyone by teleporting everyone out. If you replace her with a doll at this point, everyone would be stuck in the palace and die.

  • @shadowmokona Also, Schala isn't about to die. In fact, she lives through this scene (sort of). So replacing her with a doll I think everyone would notice.

  • hmm true.

  • aww...

  • Nadia, lucca, glenn, crono, jagus,Ayla, and I forgot what I named the robot, what ever his real name is.

  • magus is janus an robo is r2 something idk i forgot

  • oh i thought it was Jagus

  • nah its janus ... did ya know him an schala are siblings ...

  • ya, I know that much. I was just stating the names I called them as I played the game on my psp, and Snes

  • awesome u hacked ur psp too .. but what version did ya get the snes version or psx .. i got psx for the psp with the side of chrono cross .. there good an they run great ... u should try it

  • i never played chrono cross, but i got the psx and snes version on my psp, and the legal version of the snes

  • Well you are missing one of the best RPG games ever.

  • what the hell is radical dreamers?

  • is the intermediate story of chrono trigger and chrono cross, a interactive game for snes.

  • doesn't seem very fun,

  • luccas the best character.... tht was so heartwarming :)

  • Yeah but she Dies lol. Both in Chrono cross and in Radical dreamers.

  • never mind, i looked up both games and Chrono Cross looks like FF8, radical dreamers looks like a interactive story book, meh...

  • Aw...This is scene I find more adorable somehow with Lucca as opposed to Marle, although Marle's scene is also heartwarming. I just happen to like Lucca better. XD

  • Yeah... Crono can be irritaiting... BY NOT TALKING!

  • @PirateOfAmazon - I know you were being sarcastic but... I kinda think that's true.

  • @PirateOfAmazon My theory is he's the reincarnation of Black Bolt and he hasn't realised he doesn't have a nuclear voice anymore.

  • @PirateOfAmazon Actually he does talk.

  • Why don't they kill lavos while THey're at it? I mean, time was frozen...Grab your swords and start skinning that bitch...

  • Hahaha so right!

  • @errolsmusic As they said, time is limited.

  • @errolsmusic Remember the part where the replacement had to be an exact copy? The Crono Trigger had measures in place to prevent misuse and Catastrophic Interference. If they had been allowed to try and kill Lavos, or interfere in that moment in any other way, they could've done infinitely more damage than Lavos ever could.

  • @errolsmusic

    The Time can't be freezed forever - there's a time limit ;)

  • @errolsmusic Paaaarrrraaaaadox

  • I thought the same thing

  • @errolsmusic I Don't Know. Usually I Have Nadia With Me And That Explained Why (Dumb Blonde Leader XD)... Yeah I Actually Hate The Princess... As Much As I Hate To Say It... And As Much As I Hate To Admit It (Cause Fanboys Are Gonna Kill Me) I Have Never Liked Nadia That Much, She's Annoying. But Here They Have Lucca, Robo And Alya. So Yeah They Are All Smart Enough (Besides Maybe Alya) To Realise That They Can BEAT THE HELL OUTTA LAVOS!

  • @errolsmusic

    LOL

  • @errolsmusic

    LMAO!

  • @errolsmusic Because they only had a limited time

  • @errolsmusic It's an easy conclusion to make - they couldn't affect anything because they were in a frozen spot in time. The whole world around them would have been like stone. But we were never told, so draw what conclusions you want.

  • .... ee yo hice la version de frog.. =]

  • What happens if Marle and Lucca are in the party?

  • When I had both in my party, Marle was the one who revived him, though she was in my first slot. Maybe it depends on your group order?

  • I meant like, do both of them hug him or just the person who revives him?

  • Marle takes predecence over all characters, so if she is in the party, she will revive and hug Crono, no matter who is in the party. It's in this order:

    Marle - Lucca - Frog - Robo

Ayla and Magus are left out.

  • marle hugs chrono and lucca jumps off the cliff. jk. Marle talks, lucca doesnt really say anything. i tried.

  • I always do this scene with Lucca. I guess I'm the only one who's more fond of the Crono/Lucca pairing than the Crono/Marle pairing.

  • There are others. Not yours truly, but when frequenting a CT message board, Crono/Lucca pairings seemed almost as popular as Crono/Marle (and in fanfic too).

Many might see the whole "childhood friend"-thing as an obstacle for the romantic relationship between the two though, and how clear the attraction between Marle & Crono is made over the series.

  • Yeah I always do the scene with Lucca too... I lve the pairing, but I always thought it made more sense, because she knew him longer anyway...

  • On my first playthrough I did this scene with Marle, cause I wanted to see if anything happened between them. But when I started the game again, I decided to use someone else, just out of curiosity. And well, I found myself preferring this version over the Marle-version. Maybe because I like Lucca more.

It's great that the scenes (like this one) in this game are little different depending what characters you have in your party. Increases replay value alot.

  • Between this scene and the one where Lucca goes back in time to save her mother from getting caught in the conveyor belt, you get a LOT of insight into Lucca's character. Up until this point, I thought she was pretty shallow - just a science genius girl, really. But these scenes really give her so much more depth as a character you can really care about - even more so than Marle, honestly. Like "Wow, I never knew she had it in her!"

  • lucca hugs chrono... uh?? but i like more marle to hug chrono... but nice vid!

i love couple Chrono and Marle...

  • Poor clone :-(

    Having two Chronos would PWN

  • Or maybe three Cronos. How about Triple Tech-ing Luminaire?

  • 2 big differences between Marle and Lucca...

Marle: She looks like she's hugging Crono.

Lucca: The way her sprite is aligned... Almost looks like she's kissing Crono. o_o

  • I can't count how many times I've played through this game over the years, but I never actually saw this scene without Marle. I think I actually like this version the best. Lucca is portrayed in a different aspect and it sheds some light on/adds some ambiguity to Crono and Lucca's friendship.

Lucca was always my favorite anyway.

  • I've played through it once for each of the endings (so twelve times right there) and then a few more times later on. Though, obviously, they were playthroughs of various lengths since the different endings are obtained by beating the game prematurely. Sure, I could have gotten them all on one save file... but where would the fun be in that? >_>

  • Marle is a must, I usually bring Lucca too. The original 3 reunited = epic emotional!

  • True enough. I usually do the same thing, too, although I've brought each of the others once to see what they say.

  • Interesting.... I've always done this scene with Marle in my party, I've never seen this before.

  • Hahaha....Robo typo.

  • Call me a sap, but this scene always touches something inside my heart.

  • that's how you know a game is great, when it can really make you feel the emotions of the characters.

  • o_o; mom..what the hell are you saying to Chrono all rude *is in fear now with his own rise half mother*

  • Everybody listen up. Lucca didnt kiss crono.she waz hugging him. same for marle. she wasnt kissing she was hugging. I found this out when i was playing and looking carefully. Plus, this game is rated E so there cant be any kissing anyway.

  • That's... kind of a poor suggestion. There can be kissing in an E rated game. And besides, it never did get an E rating. It was back when they were rating games K-A (Kids to Adults).

  • But they were hugging, I'll give you that. >_>

  • Yeah, the ESBR got rid of that rating because they realized it wasn't any different from an E rating.

  • Aww...

To be honest I liked the game more during the parts where Crono was dead...I just don't like the silent yet strong willed boring Swordsmaster hero stereotype. When he died, it also seemed to bring the party closer together (instead of just being recruited militia)...well thats just IMO.

  • love triangle marle crono and lucca lol

  • Lucca's the cute girl next door....in videogames they never stand a chance against the princess/resident damsel in distress. Poor Lucca.

  • it's a pity, lucca should get him =/

  • yep. he ends up marrying marle in one of the endings of the psx version

  • I read on a website that Lucca marries Magus.

  • Not so far as I'm aware.

  • my brother is a crono trigger freak, he looked it up.

  • I'm a chrono trigger freak, too. There was certainly no evidence of it in CT ; Magus is never mentioned in CC ; and Radical Dreamers does include him (albeit in disguise) in the cast, but there was nothing to suggest he had developed any relation at ALL with Lucca.

  • I'm trusting my brother on this one, he is smart and looks up everything, no effence, its a video game anyway and I could care less.

  • No offense taken. >:3 It doesn't really matter to me, though I guess that comes off as a bit rude in text form.

  • Dang text form all mean and stuff. Yeah. but anyways, I really loved the game.

  • Inflection is bothersome to pull off with text, beyond the use of emotes.

  • The way the ending is told for the DS version... seems like it is possible that Magus is in CC.

  • Originally during the development of Chrono Cross Guile was meant to be Magus in disguise. However, due to time constraints for development and release they dropped the idea. *Spoilers ahead* Now with the extra ending in Chrono Trigger DS it may suggest that they retconned it a bit and it may be Magus after all. That's all we have to go on at the moment.

  • Correct. :D That's why Guile has no real background of consequence in Chrono Cross - because there was no time to devise and implement an alternative to the "Guile=Magus" scenario.

  • Or maybe Guile was Magus's other world identity, and somehow he was moved to the CC world.

  • no magus was janus, schala's brother

  • i agree but i also have to say that i never thought marle totally fit into the "princess" archetype myself, although she certainly is more that than lucca is.

  • Out of all the characters, she fits the mold the best (uses ice and healing magic, is a princess, is a blonde, is naive, gets kidnapped)

  • "You mess up again. . .and we won't save you!"

"Er. . .sorry I sacrificed myself to Lavos for the good of the world. . .???"

Also: "Crono! It's about time!" HA!. . .I laughed, anyway.

  • lucca:you messup again,we won't save you!

crono:sheesh, why are you a bitch all of a sudden, its not like you fought a giant dinosaur or anything.

  • It's kind of a wish Crono will never risk his life and died again. Lucca tells him this way... it's a little odd but in fact she tells him she really love/like him.

  • It's so umemotional when you don't do it with Marle

  • lucca is a bitch at the end

  • I know there are different versions of different scenes when you choose particular characters. But 3rd person in the party always rarely speaks... So cute, Lucca verson.

  • Lol,dispair? There's a typo in one of the greatest RPGs to exist!!

  • I always preferred watching the scene with Marle when I did this.

  • me too

  • hell, i always HAD to do it with Marle!
