Although this was a needed discussion, I'm left feelin pissed, why do black people feel they need to be put on the spot light, this clip embarrass us as a whole. There were a lot of crazy comments on this clip. I see why there is such a disconnect. The lady that spoke first listed two things that didnt have anything to do with a brothers spirituality or health and one of the bros talked about not knowing your roles...as if there is a scrip to follow in relationships. I believe in guidelines and principles, but roles? Roles makes it mechanical and women are not good with mechanics. Sorry.

Yes those are good points. I feel, as a woman, that there are roles in a relationship regardless of if there spelled out or not and if both parties adhere to there roles then it creates a more harmonized balance and there is no struggle against who should be doing what. Please don't misunderstand my use of the word roles...I'm not saying I play housewife and the man plays provider.

I mean as parents the roles are laid out from birth, protect, provide, respect etc...if you look those are roles because as a family as a parent they have to be adjusted to each child or individual. I see that a lot of people up until a certain age, are getting divorced after a very short time, which either means that the 'criteria' that people are using to choose partners is becoming more flawed, or something deeper. I can say my parent's and their generation are different in the way that they have been married since before I was even born. I don't hear of that much anymore.

Thanks for uploading this. I was a sacrificing Balck mother of three successful sons ages 27, 18 and 16. I couldn't get hair done often or shop or go on a vacation for many years. Having said that, I am a success story up against any woman of any ethnicity. Ladies, keep your legs closed since our hearts are attached to our vaginas. Men shouldn't be able to sleep around so easily...duh. Let a man come to his senses and be a leader. Don't be so independent that you end up alone. God Bless US.
