Funny how they depict cherries as being the only viable weapons against The Mob, as opposed to actual accessories that came with the toys; no hitting allowed. Was that anti-violence activism, or the company not wanting to encourage any play that might chip some paint?
@Bumblevivisector I don't know, but I rarely ever smacked figures together in order to preserve their paint jobs. Also, violence was very suppressed in my childhood.
I remember Quicksilver was one of the toys I felt like I had to have, or I'd die. I'd have dreams about it, I was totally obsessed. And then my parents got me one, and it was one of the best days of my life. I was that way with Quicksilver, and the large version of Leader 1 from the Gobots.
@xenopherus OMG Me too! LoL you know I try to tell my younger friends about the Gobots and they all think I'm just making this crap up. NO! There really was another cartoon in the 80's about transforming robots. The owners of that show made a LOT of spin offs. Remember the Rock Raiders? I forget what they're called but they were rock people.
the beginin of this commercial is early beta CG graphics..... i used to own all these action figures except Steel Heart...i was never able to find her... i just hated that the skin paint on them used to flake off easy...
Daaaamn, that was a cool effect in the beginning! The 80's was the golden era of QUALITY animated shows. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. :*(
I love these commercials... takes me back. I had most of the toys too, including the Mirage spaceship. It was indeed a great time to be a kid back then.
This was a pretty ghetto toy line...

Silverhawks toys were so awesome, that in 1987 at least two religious sects were formed in Texas worshiping the Silverhawks as gods.

I got into the Thundercats line/ cartoon but Silverhawks never grabbed me. Now that they've released the show on DVD, maybe that'll change.

Looking back at these toys makes me realize how cool the Transformers were compared to the other toys. Still, 80's toys are the best...

I still have some of them. I lost the bird accessories that same week.
